They have proven to be very helpful and an economic choice not just for regular yard work but also for plant and landscape assistance. They do a good job for a fair price.

+ -1 moreThey have been excellent. I have used them, a couple of neighbors have, and now our condo association is using them, so I don’t know what the charge is just off the top of my head. They are very friendly, very good about responding to e-mail and phone messages. The workers have been friendly and efficient. They come on a regular basis at the same time, so I can depend on when they will be here. Everything about them has been excellent, punctual and they come approximately the same time every week.
Description of Work: I use Drake Landscape Services for lawn service. The last time I used them was today.

+ 0 moreDan came out and as we walked througth the yards, he made suggestions. My goal was to spruce up the yard, add color, and improve curb appeal for putting the house on the market. The estimate was a bit higher than I wanted, so Dan suggested a few different flower choices and I chose to go w/ fewer plants. Decided to just weed and clean out the beds in the back, and mulch. The result looks good. The flowers stand out against the dark mulch. I wasn't at home when the work occurred, but they obviously cleaned up after themselves, as there wasn't stray mulch or plant containers anywhere.
Description of Work: Cleaned out flower beds in front and back yards, and planted various annual flowers. Spread mulch over all beds and around trees. Weeded vegetable garden area. Removed small seedlings that had invaded. Filled in a depression in the yard where a tree stump had been removed.

+ -1 moreIt was a small job for our townhome front yard. Some landscapers are just not interested in small jobs. Fortunately this guy is. I got a prompt call-back when I left a message asking for a quote. He came out to take a look when he said he would, provided some suggestions for replacing some ugly, overgrown bushes and quickly gave a quote over the phone. The work was done when he said it would be done, and we are very happy with the results. Reliable, friendly service at a reasonable price. I would have no hesitation in using this firm again or recommending them to others.
Description of Work: Removed overgown bushes in front yard, replaced with more suitable bushes, mulched and re-edged bed.

Description of Work: They provide ongoing services for our yard. A couple weeks ago, they put in a new tree. On the last visit, they cleaned up and cut the grass. They come twice a month to cut the grass.

+ 0 moreDan returned my initial call promptly and set an appointment to look at the job. Once we decided on a plan, he made an appointment for his crew to do the work. It only took a few hours and I didn't have to be home. Many landscapers I called were not interested in small jobs. Dan is personable and professional. He is very knowledgeble about what plants would work in a small area and require little or no maintenance once established.
Description of Work: Dan suggested appropriate low-maintenance ground cover for my small condo courtyard. Prepared the soil, bought and installed plants, laid soaker hose and left everything very clean. I love the results!

+ 2 moreDan and his crew have always done exemplary work and I know I can depend on them. Neighbors have also used them for their yards and my children are also Drake customers. Whether it's cutting tree limbs away from the roof or trimming dead wood out of aged trees, I totally trust Dan to do the job right and in a timely manner. He's now scheduled to do that at my new home and I look forward to having those trees look pretty again. I know that all of that will be done at a fair price -- as usual.
Description of Work: I have been using Drake Landscape Svc. for many years -- for my home, for business landscaping, for tree service and for planting trees and shrubs. Dan is very knowledgeable and has always made the right recommendations. He responds immediately to calls, his crew is courteous and helpful and when they are in between tasks they keep busy weeding or doing other useful tasks. They never just stand around doing nothing.

+ -1 moreI initially contacted Dan because my lawn had become overgrown and I needed a fast turnaround on basic lawn service. Dan was very responsive, and within a day or two the lawn looked terrific. Since then, he has been taking care of my lawn every other week, skipping weeks when it hadn't grown enough to justify mowing. He has always been very responsive to emails, and his work has always been of terrific quality. $30 for my lawn seems a little high considering I could get a couple of college kids to do it for less, but I'm happy to stay with him since he does such a great job.

+ -1 moreThese guys were recommended on our neighborhood bulletin board. We looked at yard they do. They look very good. I contacted them and said I wanted a bid. Never heard back from them. Called again two weeks later on a different phone. They answered and said they had gotten my first request but they don't have any slots and so they didn't call me back. :-/

+ -1 moreThey show up every oter Monday without fail, usually in the afternoon. There is a crew of two or three men, who do their work quickly and thoroughly. I don't have to call to remind them, and they know exactly what do towhen they get here. I am billed once a month.
Description of Work: This is the third season I have used Drake Landcaping to mow and edge my lawn. They come every two weeks between April 1 and October/November 1 and charge $50 per trip. They mow and edge my front and back yards, and blow debris off the drive, porches and pool deck.

The other providers were certain we needed longer projects that began with a landscape designer and then two separate teams. Mr. Drake understood we need a clean-up and make-over, but not a redesign. Along the way, he clearly demonstrated his enthusiasm for and expertise in things that grow. I'm going to call him for my rental property.

+ 0 moreOur yard was COMPLETELY transformed! All of the work was performed on time (some even ahead of schedule), and the crew did a completely professional job. Dan even made a second trip out within 24 hours when we determined we needed an additional bed planted (after removal of ugly bushes left a large "footprint" in the yard). I was extremely impressed with Dan and his crew, from the first visit to the finished product. I would recommend Drake Landscaping to anyone looking to get the most out of their landscaping dollar.
Description of Work: Dan Drake did an EXCELLENT job with our yard cleanup and planting. We had Dan out to assess our yard prior to putting our house on the market, and it was in bad shape - very overgrown. He walked with me through the yard, listened to what I wanted, and made suggestions - I was completely confident that he knew exactly what to do. He and his crew cleaned up all of the overgrowth, re-mulched and rocked the yard, removed our ugly front bushes, and planted bushes along the front walk, side yard (created a bed), and back yard. What I loved most is that Dan really worked with what we had - he could have recommended a lot more work, but he left what looked good and made it all look like it was part of the plan.

+ -1 moreDan's crew is exceptional. They are efficient and competent and cheerful. I have used Drake before so I did not need to be there checking on things because I knew it would be handled. Every detail was taken care of as promised and then they cleaned up perfectly including hauling off a huge trailer full of brush. They made a major difference in my landscape and we are very happy with the result. Dan know his stuff and is easy to work with.
Description of Work: Dan came to my office which is in a house and we talked about what needed to be done. He is very helpful in this regard. We agreed that some significant tree trimming was in order. Also, fall planting of ground cover and pansies and a major mulching of the landscape. Finally a general clean-up of the gutters, and gravel parking area.

They looked absolutely beautiful and healthy when the work was completed. We appreciate that Dan knows when it is safe to trim the trees and he also walks our property and helps identify unknown trees/plants. We will always go back to Drake Landscape.
Description of Work: Drake Landscape had cleaned up a rental property for us a couple of years ago and it looked fabulous. This time, though, we needed several groupings of oaks trimmed of dead branches and just cleaned up at our home.
