Claudia and husband, James, are an excellent team, helpful, professional team who ensured I received the best price they could afford and remain in business. This review, as they know, will not be brief as brevity is not my forte. lol The prior year I had done a lot of researching products, companies, pricing, but life happened and decorating my year old major renovation project back side's open living-kitchen space's 6 windows for looks and privacy that complimented the new space would have to wait another nearly 9 months. I didn't want to lose my nice yard view all together, nor lose too much light, and required protection from the summer's heat gain in the late afternoon (unless company was over..then I wanted view of my yard), and I wanted privacy at night (I had solar screens for daytime privacy and some heat gain protection). Someone with taste to bounce ideas off of and a reputable company that had been around a long time to back up any install or help with warranty issues while at a fair, very competitive price were also musts. I narrowed my results down to 2 companies the previous year (though I would likely need a different salesperson at the "other" company). Over the winter I decided shutters would not be appropriate for my needs given the windows so close to one another and I wanted a clear view of yard at times (I would be unable to open the shutters away form the windows for the clear view; I also wanted to lighten up the room and have different texture). When I was ready to finish what I had started, I thought the bottom line $ would drive my entire decision, though I really liked Claudia and she had even come to my home. Shades and blinds had so many options (top-down-bottom-up/float or to not float? lift systems: ultra glide or lite rise? Shades or blinds? Illumicell or darkening? concerned about Heat gain factor to block heat from coming in or more about letting air out? Help with textures and fabrics? I needed someone to help me through so many decisions for my home. I visited the "other" company first as they were closest. Unfortunately (or rather, fortunately), I got the same person as last year. Pushy, impatient, and as I finally saw a shade she kept avoiding, I asked for the quote to which she pushed at me, said it would be way over my budget (she didn't know my budget this year and did't ask), and the blinds would be much better with the free cord system for bottom up. After just spending a chunk of time doing other work so I could have some time to digest and think about what she didn't really want to explain, she gave me the expensive shade quote and turned away to work on things she had to get done before they closed (in a few minutes), I walked out and called Claudia from their parking lot. Claudia, she remembered me, was willing to take information over the phone for what I was thinking I may want, got me the estimates the next day. I was ready to go with Claudia even if she came in a little high on blinds, but she would have to be lower on roman shades I fell in love with that I guessed by the huge price difference and attitude from Leslie at the "other" company it might be a possibility. Why Claudia? I remembered Claudia's professionalism, warm smile and personality, willingness to come to my home day from 1, and that she and her husband built up their business over the many years to even have showroom floor instead of the fly by night's who work out of their homes or a place you won't ever visit. I went to her showroom and she showed me what I was looking at and that the roman shades had a backing behind them as opposed to the many brands that didn't at Home Depot or Lowe's and even big retail stores like Penney's. Claudia answered questions and then squeezed me in between 2 appointments that afternoon, patiently answered all questions, brought samples, gave input when asked (some may not and she will be polite and just be the supportive professional you want). The Hunter Douglas' tiered Vignette roman shades not only had a backing to keep dust out, but heat coefficient to keep heat from coming in that the blinds didn't have (there is a specs book to see more than you ever knew). I wanted the option to have the top down and bottom up (i.e. "float" effect) so there was light at the top and blocking heat below in the hottest part of day, while the beautiful linen like fabric lightened up the room while adding contrast. The roman shades added texture. The lift system for these shades do have to have 2 cords per Hunter Douglas' warranty (will not warranty "float"ing for liters cordless systems...she called to verify before ordering), but you hardly see the cord (can hide them in a pouch if bother's you that much), and they are the smoothest opening and closing shades (or blinds) I have ever tried! :-) Artwork and craftsmanship completed my renovation. I could hardly wait. It took a few weeks. James, Claudia's husband, came out, and did the install very professionally and quickly. A really nice guy too. :-) There were some minor, anal retentive tweaks James gladly came back to tweak the next week. James is picky himself, but understanding that I was too and I had had some time to play with all the moving parts that go up and down in what most people know are typically imperfect/non-level non-square window openings. Claudia and James not only run a professional, hard working, competitive business, but they super nice people and would be a referral for them anytime. To know I helped a family business made me feel good too. I also found that Claudia will not try to sell you something you do not need, push you into anything, will explain everything you want to know, and I know from also having the shutters experience the previous year that what she tells you is what years of experience tell her and I trust what she says to be true after my research. If Claudia says she can not go lower on a price, she means it, as she has to make some profit or she would be out of business. The "other" business had far more cushion and that salesperson chose to not do what is best for this customer. Thanks Claudia and James!

Claudia arrived on time. Communication was excellent. She was prepared to measure the area needing sheer curtains. Many sample books were provided with rods and fabric samples. All questions were answered with knowledge and professionalism. Claudia and her husband, James installed the curtains with a caring manner. The process from start to finish was very smooth. Deco Window Fashions have my highest recommendation. You will be satisfied with the skills of Claudia and James Covian.
Description of Work: Recently we decided to put sheer curtains across three large living room windows. Several companies were contacted to do this work. Claudia Covian from DECO Window Fashions was the contractor that was selected based on the excellent reviews from Angies List.

I am very pleased with this service provider. I am currently ordering window treatments through The Shade Store. James and Claudia are recommended professionals through The Shad Store to both measure and install the treatments. I sent in my request to have my windows measured for the treatments and received an email the same day from James indicating that he could measure my windows that day! James and Claudia were prompt, friendly, and completed the job quickly. Update: I had James and Claudia install all of the window treatments I ordered from The Shade Store. They were able to do the install on Saturday when I was home and did an excellent job! The price was very reasonable.
