Needed my parge coat repaired on a corner of the house. Not a big job, but one that needed doing. Of the 5 contractors I contacted, Dean was the only one to respond, which he did so promptly. As it was a relatively small job, the work was done by his assistant (who has apparently been with Dean for 30 years). Very conscientious about the quality as well as the clean up.

If you have a big project that requires a lot of scaffolding, look elsewhere. But if you have a smaller project, like a stucco repair or a stucco skirt, you can't do much better than Dean's Plastering & Stucco Repair. Dean runs a small 3-person crew. He's on site everyday. His crew are a father and son team, the former of whom has worked with Dean for 20+ years. Dean's price was in-line with several other estimates, but Dean was more helpful in terms of talking me through the coordination required between trades and what I needed to do to have the project lined out for him.
Description of Work: We had Dean and his crew stucco the downstairs of a new accessory dwelling unit, with about 850 SF of wall area. We're not painting the stucco, so the project required extra attention to detail. We are very happy with the results.

Dean called and fit us in on a very cold December day. He caulked and painted the crack in question, but in addition, also went around the house and caulked at least five or six other cracks he found in various places and charged no more than his original estimate.
Description of Work: Repair of a two foot long crack in the stucco over a door and extending another two or three feet down the door frame on one side. Repair included caulking, sanding and repainting to match the existing paint job.

Dean and crew repaired and painted as described and it turned out great. The repairs are not visibly different from the rest of the wall. He took the paint we had from 4 years ago to the paint store to make sure it was still good quality for the job. He repaired the roof's kick-out flashing that was also improperly installed. He repaired the stucco trim around our door as a last minute request. Before he left, he inspected the stucco on the rest of the house and alerted us to spots which may cause problems in the future. He made the repairs within the week as promised, and the total cost was less than the full day ballpark figure he had quoted me.
Description of Work: I have stucco exterior walls on a 10-year-old house. One of the stucco walls appeared to have black mold on the second floor above a split level roof, and when it rained a BIG bubble would appear under the paint on the first floor wall. I had called several stucco companies during the past year and have had three no shows, probably because it's a small, one day job. Dean was one of the no shows. I finally was able to get a general contractor to come out and he contacted Dean. Dean called me the next day and asked for a second chance to do the work. From this point on, Dean was responsive and professional. Dean said the stucco was applied too close to the roof line so water was getting trapped, causing the mold. Dean said he could cut the wall back and repair it and the bubble, and re-paint it to match and he could do the job that week. He patiently and clearly answered my questions. The only other stucco co. rep that came out told me they could patch both spots but it would look like a patch and not match the rest of the wall. He also told me they couldn't get to my repair for 5 weeks or so. So Dean's assessment was good news. He couldn't give me a firm estimate until he and his crew got deeper into the work, but he told me what a full day of labor would be.

Dean came over, gave us a bid, and started on it right away. He did an excellent job!
Description of Work: Dean repaired a couple of watermelon sized areas of chipped off stucco above my second story. It was very high off of the ground and I was having trouble finding a company that would even do the job. Many companies would have had to rent scaffolding, which would have doubled the price of the job. Dean already had the equipment he needed, therefore didn't overcharge me for such a simple job.
