Description of Work: Checked the wiring attached to house from city pole to see if a weather head was dead. It was and I had to contact City to try to correct the problem. I only wish I could rate the City. The result from them was a diaster. Very poor customer service among other things. Dan is a good old time electrican who will search until he actually finds the problem before replacing things that are not needed.Also, he has very reasonable fees. |

+ -1 moreMost important. problem fixed. a light fixture was improperly installed and wire pinched finally shorted out. Bonus: Dan fixed promptly, efficiently, affordably. I liked that Dan suggested a possible solution that would not involve a service call. (Telephone diagnosis).
Description of Work: Turning on particular light switch was tripping a breaker. We called Dan because of his location. (Did not want to pay a trip charge for a small project). Dan suggested a way to possibly fix without a service call (we confirmed not the bulbs). Still broke. Dan was able to come right out. Fixed the problem. Looked at another small electrical issue we had a question about and he was gone.

I have worked with him on and off for 10 or more years and he has consistently been on time, accurate with bids, and dependable. I can count on him for honesty and quality. I do wish all contract service workers had his professionalism. P.S. if you schedule on a Monday, you might be lucky and get a loaf of his homemade bread. Yum! He is a keeper, now if I could only say that about a plumber!!

He has performed the following work: installing lighting fixtures, exhaust fans, recessed lighting, under-countertop kitchen lighting, double oven intallation, movie theater electronics and sound systems, plasma TV installation, cable wiring, outdoor lighting, Christmas lights, new electrical outlets, electrical trouble-shooting, sprinkler wiring repair, and more!
Description of Work: Dan is truly a "genius" and the best electrical contractor in Austin! I have used his services for ten years, from exensive remodeling to installing exhaust fans. Dan recently consulted on an engineering project for a fraction of the price of an expensive engineering company.
