If I could give a negative 5 stars on this company, I would. Don’t hire them for any type of construction. Lack of ability, lack of integrity and motivated only by money. Based on Da Vida Pools’ good rating with the Better Business Bureau, we contracted with them through our home builder approximately 2 years ago to build a pool at our beautiful new lakeside home. It has been a complete disaster! Two years later, and after already needing to be remodeled, our pool is still not right. At the time we contracted with the company, Andre Del Re, owner of Da Vida, had a business partner. Both men assured us they would make sure everything was done on schedule, on budget and according to plan. The initial pool build took several months longer than promised and involved many mistakes, oversights and problems. They ordered and began installation of the wrong edge tile, had to tear it out, wait for the new tile to be ordered and reinstalled, the negative edge isn’t even and doesn’t spill over properly so it splashes out of the catch basin on one side and is almost dry on the opposite end, and we had leaks on the outer wall and beneath the spa. LEAKS! They had to break through concrete in the pool room to find the leaks under the spa. The biggest problem, however, is that they built the pool way too deep. My husband is over 6’ tall and at about 10 feet from the shallow end, he was completely under water. The pool was to have a gradual slope from the shallow end throughout about 2/3 of the pool where it sloped to the deep end for diving. Where the plan showed the pool to be 4 1/2’ deep, it was built to 7’ deep. It was as if they drew a straight line from the shallow end to the deep end and built it that way. At this point the business partner (after threatening us for the remainder of the payment, which were idle threats because we had a clear and detailed contract) bailed from the partnership.. Our home builder then required Andre Del Re to make the corrections to ensure the pool was to plan, so began the remodel. They had to drain it, raise the in-floor cleaning system and plumbing, raise the floor, re-tile and re-plaster. The lights were not installed properly and the cleaning system doesn’t work correctly. I could go on and on. The remodel was supposed to take 2 weeks and it took over 4 months at which time I asked for a finish date. We had a meeting and agreed on a finish date and that was the last time I saw Andre Del Re. Our builder was forced to hire another company to come in and finish the remodel. Two months later, the plaster (which Da Vida completed) is starting to crack, we have cracks in the tile and on the outside of the spillover. Now we have been forced to hire another company to come in and most likely do a second remodel. Steer clear of DaVida or anyone associated with them.
