When I bought this system for $5000 last year, the salesman told me there was a lot of metal in my water but the softer plus the filter would eliminate the issue. He also told me he had arsenic in his water and the softener/filter combo made his water safe to drink. Well, less than one year later, I start seeing an orange tinge to my water which has been clear from June through April. I called and asked them to come out. They told me the water treatment was working as expected and the orange tint was some type of algae. they also told me my well pump was not working right and they couldn't be sure the system was a problem because of the pump. More salt to the water softener and off they went. Well, the water continued to look orange. In fact, it got worse. My metal buckets for dog water started having orange residue at the bottom. the dog who had been drinking the water had her whole coat change and become brittle with a lot of hair falling out. My other dog had been drinking bottled water in the house because he'd had a spinal fusion and I wanted to give him the best opportunity for recovery without softened water. Once he was well, I gave him the water from the water softener/filter. The first day he drank it, he vomited all over. I gave him bottled water, no problem. I now have both dogs drinking bottled water while I call Culligan and ask them to fix the problem. The salesman came out on Monday the 13th and said, oh yes, you have colloidal metal in your water. Nothing to worry about. We can sell you this $1000 system to filter it out to 1 micron. Oh, and you'll have to buy a quantity of the bags for the bag filter ($250) But we can change out the cullneu media which sits in the filter and will more than likely make this much better. Well water changes. So, I say, adjust the filter to manage the changed water. We'll arrange for a service call to do that and replace the cullneu media. Fine. Culligan calls. $110 for the replaced neutralizer and service call ($110/hour) REALLY? The darn system isn't even doing the job you promised and it hasn't been one year. Now I find that I have to pay for the service call to fix the problem that I tried to have fixed in April . they didn't charge me the $110 in April. I told them I'm reporting this to Angie's List. I'm now angry about my expensive water treatment system and Angie's list, please help me

They are very good, we are pleased to use them. When they made their presentation about their systems, they were thorough and not high pressure or anything. They just showed what they had to offer and the different options, whether you want to rent or buy their equipment. It was just the way the salesman handled it it was a very easy going type of questions and answers. It was not high pressure at all. We rented it for 3 months and then went ahead and bought it. They have an offer that you can rent it for 90 days and then if you decide to buy it that rent goes towards the price of the system.
