Cody Pools

Had the pool built in June 2021. Pleased overall with construction quality. However, submitted a warranty request related to a leaky RPZ for the autofill. Terrible follow up, committed to come out and look at it but never came. Coming up on 30-days now and backyard is a swamp. Terrible!

Been rough working with Cody Pools. Sales went smooth overall, design, signing contract, but they subcontract everything and even if they sell to you seems you have to ride them to get anything done. It's always; that'll be next week, few days, then a month later your like, that never happened. Signed contract here in Jan 2021 with Cody Pools and its Mar/Apr 2022 here basically and still waiting for completion; plaster, turn on, etc. Pool just sits long periods with no work done. They probably missed about 15+ appointments that were communicated. Next pool/house, won't use these guys due to this. Lost our business going forward and can't recommend them at this point if you want a timely pool and/or not sure of quality just yet.

This was the second time we decided to use Cody Pools and we are now regretting our decision. We used the same Superintendent (Trey Pendleton) in both pool installations but we received very different results. Prior to our third to last payment (almost full payment) we were promised they would fix the divots in the pebble tech at the bottom of our pool and in the hot tub area, clean our wrought iron fence which they sprayed with sundeck material, clean up the concrete stains all over the stone around the pool edge/hot tub, replace the hot tub filter cover because it’s already cracking (only 2 months old), fix the area where they messed up the concrete walkway and address the main waterfall spillover which is not functioning correctly. About ¼ of the spillway does not spill over correctly therefore you don’t get the nice even waterfall spillover appearance. The first three months out of the last eight months, I attempted to have these issues addressed with my Superintended (Trey Pendleton) multiple times, at least 15 times or more. However, he always provided me with the same response “We will be out next week to fix all the issues” which that never happened and or he didn’t respond at all for weeks at a time. I made one final attempt to contact my Superintendent about four months after they finished the pool and his response was “It's been a hectic couple of weeks trying to finish up some pools before the powers to be, shut down pool construction. We need to close out pools.” I get it, they need to close out pools so they get paid if construction is shut down. It has taken them seven months to fix the majority of the issues addressed above and there is only one item which they still haven’t addressed. The spillover from the hot tub to the pool is still not functioning properly and ½ of the spillway is not flowing over properly. They sent the stone contractor out to sand down that area and it helped a little but it’s still not functioning properly. A second Superintendent (Hans) was assigned to address this issue because Trey Pendleton doesn’t know how to respond back to his customers. Hans come out and examined the spillover and determined the flow of water and or return to the hot tub wasn’t high enough. Which means, there isn’t enough water flow or pressure going back to the hot tub allowing for enough water to flow over the spillway correctly. Two months have passed since Hans reviewed the last issue and still nothing has been done. I attempted to notify Hans and his boss (Daryl) via text message and they keep pawning it off to Try Pendleton to address. I contacted them (Hans and Daryl) one last time as of this past Monday (10/12/20) requesting an update and still nothing. Therefore, I informed them I will use the remaining $2,900 to have another pool company fix their mistake and if/what is left over I will pay them the remaining amount. Or, if it costs more than $2,900 to fix the issue, I will bill them for the difference. On top of that, what drove me over the edge is when I called Cody pools back on 8/21 they informed me my warranty is no longer valid. Keep in mind, this was ONLY six months after filling my pool with water. They indicated it’s because I haven’t paid the final payment of $2,900. Which is true only because they haven’t addressed the final item with my pool. I refuse to make final payment until the work is complete. Trust me, DO NOT use Cody Pools unless you like poor quality of work and no response from your Superintendent. They did a really nice job. Once they got started it was quick also. There were a few glitches we had to go back and forth on. Overall the pool is awesome, but it was just some of the process. The price was high but everyone else that has one around thinks it is normal. And some of the contractors say they would have charged a lot more. Everything in Austin is bigger but everything in Austin is more expensive. Once I got him to return my call and set up a date, they were there the day scheduled. That was my biggest problem with them, return my phone calls. The project manager was nice over all but he ignores you.

We interviewed 4 pool companies for our new pool. Mike Livingston of Cody Pools was by far the most professional and responsive. He went above and beyond for us. We also liked his design best out of all the companies we interviewed. He listened to our needs and the pool was designed with our family in mind, which we loved. He was quick to make suggestions and this being our first pool, he let us know what was important and what to look for when comparing proposals. We were unsure of the size of the pool we discussed so Mike came out and spray painted the shape of our pool in the backyard, on a Saturday no less. He was incredible and we were most impressed with Cody Pools. Our pool project is on hold while we figure out remodel budgets but If you're thinking of putting a pool in, call Cody Pools first and save yourself some time. Ask for Mike Livingston, Cody Pools Parmer Ln. location but I believe he covers many areas of town. He's the best!

We think Cody Pools is a premiere and reliable pool construction and remodeling company. This is after interviewing over 15 companies over a few months for an extensive pool remodel which included an expansive new deck, hot tub, patio cover, cook area, gas fire pits, new filtration equipment and a total remodel of the pool itself. We especially appreciate working with Zach Johnson. He was attentive to all of our ideas, he communicated well and quickly and what stands out the most was the ease of going from our initial conversation to a pool design which took into account all of our details and included improvements to the plan per his suggestions. We have every confidence that had we chosen to do the remodel with Cody Pools that it would have been beautiful, to specification, on time and built to last. In the end Cody Pools was our 2nd choice as we felt just as confident one other pool company which was cheaper.

Cody Pools was meticulous about the quality of work. The pebble pool flooring was done and redone to meet our expectations- no questions asked. We were extremely impressed with how they listened and created exactly what we had in our minds eye.

We were very pleased from start to finish. The designer did a great job fitting the biggest possible pool in a pretty tight space. He made aesthetic suggestions that have turned out to be key to the fabulous look and feel of our pool, and which were not suggested by other companies. This was a surprise for my family, and he helped me create a video of the pool in our yard, with views from both inside and outside of our home to present to them. When construction began, everything went fairly smoothly. I heard regularly from our superintendent, and was informed of any delays. The pool was completed under the given time estimate. We ran into a couple of small bumps in the road, but both were resolved to my satisfaction. Our experience was complete after a very thorough training on our new equipment. We look forward to many years of enjoyment!

Cody pool performed the following activities in the re-surfacing of the pool and I would advise anyone looking to have this work done to make sure they have the following services included in their estimates also. 1) replace all pool jets 2) remove all plaster around all skimmers, and pool jets. 3) remove all plaster around all drains and pool lights. 4) remove all tile trim and replace it. 5) replace all skimmer,pool jets, and drain covers with new matching colors. 6) rebalanced the pool chemicals and provided all new pool maintenance equipment including: a) new skimmer pole and skimmer net. b) new skimmer hoses and vacuum head. c) new chemical testing kit (professional) Cody pool also installed an new UV sanitizing unit. The work was completed in 6 days start to finish. Jason our foreman visited the job site every day to deal with any concerns and to answer any questions. The work comes with a 15 year guarantee. This is important for obvious reasons and Cody Pool is big enough to execute on the guarantee. We received 5 bids Cody Pool was the second most expensive but only by a couple of hundred dollars. They provided us with full color brochure as we were making our decision with complete examples which helped greatly. We then visited their show room on I-35 to see what our new surface would actually look like. In all aspects Jason our foreman was responsive. He even returned my phone calls on the week end when I know he was off work and gave me his cell phone number of I had any questions.

Everything went very well. From the beginning process to the end, and even now, we can call them and they get back in touch with us right away. I would highly recommend them.

Cody designed and built a pool for us - from start to landscaping (turnkey). Very pleased with the designer, the supervisor was a bit gruff, but easy to work with for us (we heard some clients don't really like his style much, but he was fine with us). The teams did a nice job not totally wrecking the yard in the process (but it IS a messy event), and they were very clear on how the pricing worked (and didn't work). It wasn't a cheap investment (it is a large pool with some additions) - but I feel like the price was transparent and fair - I don't "buyers remorse" like "I got took". I even made a $3,000 change to add some steps midstream and they were flexible as it fit the timeframe well I feel good about the process, the company, and how my transaction was handled.

While we have decided not to pursue at this time, we were very pleased with the time the salesman took to meet at our home, measure, and subsequently present a 3D design, complete with full specs and costs. The process helped us to make our decision - no pool at this time.

It went very well from start to finish. Except for the cold weather,they were on time.

Cody Pools was amazing! From the day they started until we filled the pool (appx. 5 weeks), the entire process was so smooth. Matt was my designer (he did a great job incorporating the huge slope in my backyard and designed a one-of-a-kind pool) and Tom was the superintendent over construction. As soon as one crew left, another pulled in. They are so efficient and everyone that works for them is wonderful. Tom kept me up-to-date on the construction schedule and could always be reached by phone at any time of day. I could not be happier with Cody and my amazing pool. Their bid price might be a bit higher than other guys out there, but you absolutely get the best with them and it is worth every penny. I highly recommend Cody Pools!

Cody's was fantastic! They were very professional and friendly and were finished with the job even sooner than they said they would be. They cleaned everything up after the job was done and I got a great price on a great pool!

Right from the start, I could tell they were creating a problem in the way they were laying the design of the layout. I warned them, but they wouldn t listen. After they finished, the first hard rain I had a foot of water in my yard and it even covered my air conditioning unit footings. I complained to their company and their response was that they were not responsible for the drainage. They created the problem ,so I continued to complain and they told me they would just have to remove me from their reference list. They didn t clean up after themselves. The work on the pool was pretty good, but two of the jets in the spa were bad and they were arrogant.

They did an average job on our pool. They really didn't do anything to really impress me at all. I thought that they could have improved their workmanship a lot. When we first put the proposal together, they had made a lot of promises that they couldn't and didn't keep. I would not recommend them.
