Clear Choice Roofing

Everything went very well. They came out promptly to do an initial inspection and then schedule the actual service about a week later. Both gentlemen were prompt, polite, and did an excellent job.

One thing that we did not appreciate is that they never returned our calls. We kept waiting for a week, then we called again and they said someone would call me later to make an appointment. We waited for another week and called back again, somebody said ‘okay let us make an appointment’, and so we made an appointment between noon and five. Nobody came, and of course, nobody called me! I called back and they said they would come back on the following Thursday and I called that day to ask what time they were coming and then he told me they are not coming because they already did it three weeks ago! I asked him what they did and he said he doesn’t know the guy just came out and did some maintenance. So now, I am not sure what he did but my next-door neighbor told me that the shingles were still flopping because there is a lot of wind blowing here. When we called, the technician said it was fixed properly, so now I don’t know if it was done or not because we can’t go up there. When we complained they did sent out somebody that checked and said they fixed it but to me it doesn’t look like it was done. We have no idea what they did and of course, we are disappointed!

Went great. Very amicable,; trustworthy. Did a good job.

They are very accommodating. It was a completely satisfactory job, they did everything I wanted. They replaced the dryer vent top that came off, cut some branches, and did a fantastic cleaning of the gutters. I am completely satisfied. I am using them again soon.

I had a roof leak, which I was trying to get resolved. I kept trying to get a hold of my original roofer, who finally sent someone to take a look, in my absence. I wanted to make sure that it was either done right or understand what really needs to done. Mike came over, was very professional and thorough in his explanation. He gave me his assessment of my internal damage and even went up on my roof to see if the roof had any damage. In couple years I am calling these guys back to get my roof tuned up! I really appreciate all their help and punctuality. I wish they were my roofers.

I had called Clear Choice Roofing in March because of a small water leak in our attic. We have lived in our house for 13 years and are the only ones on our street who have not had to replace our roof yet. We had it checked by our insurance company a few years ago, and this time called Clear Choice because they had such a great write up with Angie's List. Gavin came out and saw a few areas that needed fixing, but said that our roof did not need to be replaced yet. I had assumed that we would be getting a new roof, and appreciated his honesty. We hired him to do the work, which was done well and was reasonably priced. Four months later I found two adjoined shingles in our backyard, obviously fallen from the roof. I called Clear Choice and set up an appointment for the next week. I was a bit worried that water might get in there if it continued to rain as it had been doing for the last few days. I expressed this to the person setting up our appointment, and she assured me that if we were to have a problem, she would send someone out right away. We did not have any rain in the wait of a few days, and Gavin arrived right on time, as he had in March. He was very friendly, again, and got right up on the roof and re-attached the shingles, which he said had been stapled down. I have no idea if stapling is a common practice, but he was not the one who installed the roof. While up there, he looked around and saw that some shingles had moved away from the chimney, so he hammered those down as well. When he came back down he talked to me about the state of our roof, saying that it was still alright, but before too long we'll probably need a new one. Again, he could have said that it was time for a new roof immediately, but he didn't. Not only did he get up there and fix a few problems, but he did it for free! I did not ask for it to be free; he just told me it was free. That is a great way to keep your customer, not to mention how very friendly he was. I will be happy to share his company's name with any of my friends asking for a good roofer.

Roofer did a very good job and he was very professional.

The roofer that came out to do the job was very professional and did good work. In subsequent rain storms, there has been no leaking from the roof. My only problem with my experience is that the person who did the estimate, said he inspected the roof and determined that quite a few shingles were damaged or missing. He also determined that a roof pipe needed to be replaced, even though my home is only five years old. But he missed a broken shingle in the same area as the shingles that were initially replaced. The roofer who did the work, found the broken shingle in a matter of minutes and showed it to me before he replaced it. I feel that if the initial inspection and estimate were done right, the leak would have been fixed in March, instead of June, and the damage to my kichen ceiling would have been avoided. The roofer that actually did the work, did a great job.

The roof is complete. There may have been a problem with final payment.

I asked for an estimate and will decide later who I will use for the service.

It went great, really well. I had the man come out two days later to fix the shingles and caulking.

We interviewed several roofing companies and chose Clear Choice. We had several special requests, including pulling all old nails, using the manufacturer specified number of nails, installing a drip edge, using lead flashing on vent pipes, and applying storm guard to roof valleys. We were pleased that the new shingles were stored flat on pallets until they were ready to install. (Many contractors have shingles delivered to the roof, where the bundles are "broken" by bending them over the roof peak, where they are left sometimes for days baking in the hot sun--not a good thing.) The crew arrived early on the scheduled day and set to work. They tarped the driveway to protect it before backing the disposal trailer in. The site supervisor was unavailable, so Gavin himself arrived to ensure our project was completed properly, and except for brief periods to run related errands, he stayed all day. It was almost 100 degrees by noon, but this crew kept going. At our request, they blocked the downspouts to help ensure no stray nails ended up in the underground drain system. Gavin searched numerous shops to find a new vent cover of a quality and style to match the old one which was damaged in the hailstorm, and was finally successful. Gavin also installed roof vents on our garage and sunroom peaks, where there were none before, and included them in the total price. When the job was completed in late evening, the crew cleaned the yard, flowerbeds and drive thoroughly. After checking out the rooftop ourselves, we found only two small issues: one end cap from the back gutter was missing, and the dome of one of our solartubes was askew. Gavin promised to send out his gutter repair crew to replace the end cap, and told us to call the solartube company to reset the dome. He gave us a generous discount to the contract price to cover the solartube adjustment. The gutter repair was completed within days, and the solartube company quickly and successfully realigned the dome. And, we have found only 4 stray nails that the magnet-wielding crew somehow missed!! Since the job was completed, we have had torrential rains, and we have no leaks anywhere--we checked. We had seen many companies working on roofs throughput our neighborhood. We had clear ideas about what we wanted for our project, and we are very pleased we hired Clear Choice. Gavin and his crew were polite, professional, and accommodating. Gavin's personal attention to our project proved to us that he makes customer satisfaction his company's priority. We will highly recommend Clear Choice.

Unfortunately, I was out of town when the technician came back to actually do the repairs, and since I don't have a big ladder myself, I haven't been able to check what they actually did. I'm assuming/hoping it was okay!

No service was performed because Clear Choice didn't keep their appointment. We chose Clear Choice for one of our estimates because they had an "A" rating on Angie's List.

Owner came out initially to inspect the needed maintenance which he said was the typical amount for the type and age of the roof. A service provider was then scheduled to do the planned maintenance. The work was done as scheduled and as expected.

We noticed a leak. Clear Choice came out and spotted the trouble immediately. We were put on the repair list for Monday. The repairman arrived early and made the necessary repairs at a very reasonable price. We have not had enough rain since the repair to determine that the repair did in fact fix the leak.

Thank you Clear Choice for the excellent job done replacing our roof and working around our work/sleep schedule. The work was done in a timely manner and the yard clean-up after was great. We found no trash left behind. The whole experience from getting the quote to replacing the roof to paying for work done was so easy and seamless. Thanks Clear Choice!!!

I needed my roof replaced so I contacted a number of companies, including Clear Choice, to receive quotes. I decided to go with Clear Choice and I'm very glad I did. My point of contact was Mike Ludlow. Mike contacted me promptly and scheduled a time to come look at the roof. He explained in detail the work that would be done, including a small request of mine. The work was scheduled, and the work was done on the scheduled date. Mike kept in communication the entire time, making sure everything was going well. I was very happy with the crew, they finished the job in a day and left the area around the house cleaner than when they had arrived. So the entire process went very well and was all you could hope for. But there's more to the story and is an example of going far above and beyond. We ran into a problem and this is where Clear Choice, and especially Mike, were outstanding. As it turned out we had problem with some shingles that were slightly off color, but definitely noticed it. We believed it to be a manufacturer's defect so Mike contacted an Owens-Corning rep right away to come and have a look. It was agreed that there was an issue so we filed a claim with Owens-Corning. The Owens-Corning claim process isn't exactly smooth, and a bit demanding. As an example they required shingles of the two different shades to be removed and shipped to them. Mike took care of this and had the shingles removed and shipped to Owens-Corning. They also required various pieces of documentation, some from me, some from Mike, and he was always quick to take care of it. The entire claim process took about 2 months and thankfully Mike was there the entire time. We communicated on at least a weekly basis on the status of the claim and what we could due to move it along, and it did take some prodding. Finally the claim was approved and a check issued for the work. If there was a higher grade I could give for Responsiveness and Professionalism then I surely would. And if I ever need another roof replaced I've got Mike on speed dial. Wouldn't call anyone else.

Everyone from Clear Choice was wonderful! I had gotten the Angie's Deal because I had had a few roof tiles blown off in the last big wind storm. Wow, what a customer service oriented company. From the nice lady who answered the phone to the owner who I spoke with on a couple of occasions, I felt like a valued customer. I will absolutely do business with them again and have recommended them to my mother in law who needs a new roof.

After a particularly strong wind storm, we found ourselves with shingles all over the yard. Honestly, I?d have preferred they stayed on the roof. So we called out the insurance company to check things over. They approved replacement of a portion of the roof, sent us a check, and then promptly forgot about us. We got a couple of quotes to do the work suggested by the insurance company. The first company came out, said yeah sure we can do that for about the amount insurance is covering, and then left. Clear Choice Roofing was our second quote, and Rick told us that the insurance company was completely wrong about the work they approved. He suggested that our entire roof needed replacing, which would normally make me think that somebody was just trying to get a bigger job out of the deal, but he argued the point with very thorough detail and photographs that convinced me he was not trying to take me for a ride. Rick also said that we needed temporary repairs immediately to prevent damage from the rain expected over the next few days. By the end of the day, somebody from Clear Choice had stopped by to patch our roof up and left without asking for a single cent or even a hint of a promise that we might give them our business. Rick even asked to be put in contact with the insurance adjuster so that he could personally deal with what he thought was a sloppy inspection. What followed was several weeks of phone calls and faxes between the insurance company and Rick from Clear Choice. Rick was determined to make the insurance company see his side of things, even though we still hadn?t signed any paperwork or promised the job to Clear Choice. In the end, I?m certain that Rick?s expertise and eagerness to please us got us better coverage out of the insurance company, to the tune of an entirely new roof at no extra cost to us personally. His hard efforts and incredibly friendly manner also guaranteed our business. Once everything was hammered out, an installation appointment was set for only a few days out, and the workers arrived precisely on time. I wish I could say that they also had magical nails that didn?t require hours of intense hammering, but they?re just a really good roofing company-- not sorcerors. Regardless, they were done with the entire tear-down, rebuild, and thorough clean-up within one business day. We even got a pretty awesome free bonus: a couple days later I went out back to nail up a board that had fallen loose from my fence, only to find that the roofers randomly decided to nail it in for me (I assume-- nobody else has been in my backyard since the last time I saw the loose board). In all, Clear Choice was an excellent choice of roofing company that paid off in spades. I would use them a second time without hesitation, though I sincerely hope no storms take this roof apart. I would recommend them to anybody with any roofing needs.
