Clear Choice Roofing

I had Clear Choice out six months ago or more to repair a leak around my chimney. They did a marvelous job, at a reasonable price. After the Halloween rain, I signed up for their inspection. The guy hammered in a few nail heads, and said I needed a new roof. This after their prior visit when they said the roof was fine. A few days after their recent inspection, I had an insurance adjuster who said the roof was fine, no need for replacement. I almost spent $8500 for something I didn't need. So I give them an A for the first job, but F for the inspection.

He was extremely responsive and informative. Completed the job quickly but with quality. We will absolutely use his services again and highly recommend him.

Showed up and provided estimate. After deciding to use their service, scheduled repair appointment. They showed up and repared roofing with some flashing and new shingles. After a week, it rained and the leak in the roof was worse than before. Called them up immediately to fix repair. They were able to come out the next day to put a temporary fix on the roof. This fix also failed to stop the leak. After rained stopped the next day, they came out to put a permanent fix on the roof. So far the fix seems to be holding. They replaced a large amount of shingles that do not match the original shingles on the roof which is disappointing. They have been very professional in dealing with this problem; the project supervisor even took my call while on vacation. Their cost of repaired was reasonable. Just not happy with the results. Not sure why they were not able to fix they problem originally. Not sure if I would use them again.

Originally worked with Clear Choice Roofing after reading the positive reviews that they had on Angie's List and a Big Deal offer in October of 2012. They came out did good work, although it was communicated that Gavin (the owner) would be coming out as there is a strong company belief that relationships with customers are good (I agree wholeheartedly). Do to personal reasons, Gavin was not able to make it but did follow up with a phone call to apologize. In September of 2013, I needed some minor work completed as part of a home inspection remedy. Unfortunately, this required multiple appointments to get an estimate (as the first appointment was broken with no explanation given, other than "we have no record of you being on the schedule"). I found this out when I contacted back to find out the results of the estimate and received the response that there was no estimate. Had to wait another week for the estimate. Another appointment came and went, although this one was resolved a bit quicker as Michael was able to squeeze in the quick work. Estimate came in, signed and sent back immediately. Waited to be scheduled, work was completed satisfactorily and payment was made. Biggest disappointment was with how disjointed things were on the second time around. If I was still in the Austin area, I would be hesitant to use them again without addressing all of this directly with Gavin. It was a time sensitive project (and very minor) due to a relocation and home sale and it was frustrating that it took more time to get time scheduled than the work probably took. Also, a bit perplexed how the preventative service from the Big Deal 11 months earlier ended up becoming home inspector findings (5 y/o house with 30 yr roof) that cost me more than the Big Deal ($199 for Big Deal, $250 for inspector remedies). Update based on Provider Response: October 2012 Big Deal Service (Date of Service: November 2, 2012): First off an apology to Clear Choice Roofing and the Angies' List community, I did not submit a review for this service in a timely manner despite the repeated reminder emails from Angies' List. Unfortunately, life does sometimes get in the way which is why I am documenting the information at this time. I did provide multiple recommendations to specific friends, neighbors and coworkers when solicited for a recommendation for a roofer at that time. At the time of the follow up call from Gavin (the day after the appointment, which happened to be a Saturday), the explanation provided to me was for his absence from the job was not injury as cited in his response. I feel that it is inappropriate to discuss the details provided to me by Gavin, as it had no bearing on the work that was performed. I am however disappointed in the revisionist history listed by Gavin in his response. The coordinator (Natasha) had indicated that Gavin would be there, which is how I knew to expect him. In addition, his lead technician on-site for the job was unaware as to Gavin's location at the time of service. With regards to the 2nd story charge, I had been forthcoming that this was a 2 story house, the Big Deal coupon fine print did not discuss 2nd story charges, nor do I recall one being disclosed at any point or that it had been discounted off. Big Deal Fine Print copied below, my understanding of walk-able roof is related to roof pitch, not height off ground. Original Call generated appointment on September 11, 2013 between 11a and 12p which was broken, no call, no show due communication issues by now terminated employee (per response from Gavin). Follow up call showed no record of previous appointment, new appointment scheduled for September 20, 2013 (unsure of time, believe AM or mid-day). Called third time (September 20, 2013 - PM), found out that technician (Michael) missed appointment, he was professional, apologized, and went out to perform estimate and sent it out September 21, 2013. Cited that normal cost for repair on 2 story house was $325-$350, but quoted $250 for the job. This job was time sensitive due to requirements of a corporate relocation and the 2 week delay from time of initial contact just to get a quote was stressful given the low complexity of the job itself. Overall: As I indicated overall in my review, I would consider using Clear Choice Roofing again, but would most likely call a second or third company to bid in the future due to this experience. As I am no longer in the Austin area, this is purely a hypothetical situation.

I sent out email to seven companies regarding the leaks on my metal roof during the Thanksgiving week. ClearChoice was only 1 of the 2 companies that replied. They informed me that they were backlogged and were not taking any new jobs until the first of the year. So although they couldn't helped me I appreciate their quick response to me inquiry. I would definitely consider calling them in the future if I have roofing issues.

I recently sold my house and have been coupons from Angie's list to fix all of the things my buyers wanted.Purchased th roofing package and Clear Choice did an excellent job.

Came out and checked out an area where we have a leak. While he could have duped us and done work, he took a few moments and let us know that the issue is actually with masonry, not with the roofing. He even recommended a few things we could do to help in the meantime. Despite not using him, his professionalism and straightforwardness will make us call him again in the event we do have a roofing issue.

I like many in the Austin area had some leakage after the heavy rain that we had. At my home it literally rained in sideways through the turbine fans on the roof. I purchased the coupon on Angie's list to have the whole rood looked at. Alan showed up on the 11-8-2013 performed the inspection gave his suggestions for correcting the problem. Appointment was made for the box vents to be installed on the 11-14-2013 showed up and completed the work

Roofers showed up on time. Guy in charge of the team called the office(?) and stated that I also wanted a roofing estimate so they started measuring the roof. They applied some sealer around the sky light and ridge vent and hammeedr in two nails. They did not seal the loose shingles. In November I called the Clear Choice office and told them I had been requested by Angie's list for a review and wanted to give them a chance to respond to my concerns before I submitted a review. The lady said that they should have sealed the loose shingles and that she would email me a quote on a new roof that afternoon. That was two weeks ago. Hired another company to seal the shingles and I had to replace 6 shingles that were damaged in the tree trimming.

CCR adequately performed all tasks that they were paid to do. However, some minor issues were identified. We attempted to set up further work to address these problems. The office person kept telling us that they'd contact the crew to determine exactly what work needed to be done, but they have never gotten back to us. After several attempts, we quit trying. Also, after getting a different roofer to address those problems, a couple of other concerns were shown to us. These issues were plain to see once pointed out, so I'm surprised that CCR did not do so for us -- this was, after all, supposed to be for them to show us the current condition of our roof.

The Clear Choice people met with my insurance adjustor and the adjustor said I did not need a new roof. Clear Choice did perform the maintenance on the roof.

Didn't show up as scheduled.|Hard time rescheduling.|The work was very nice, walked around the roof made a couple of recommendations and nailed a couple of nails in the roof. But never sent me an estimate for the repairs needed or any type of follow up. I would never use this company or recommend them. I don't remember the date they finally showed up.

I asked to be put on their list for January 2014, the girl I spoke with then told me that they don't do roof maintenance. They are currently running a special for roof maintenance.

Clear Choice expert got on the roof, checked for possible problems and he saw nothing that would have cause current " possible water infiltration", roof in excellent condition. While he was up there he did add an additional seal to the nail heads in the flashing. This expert also saw something (not involving the roof) that could cause a future problem and took care of it too. Thank you Clear Choice Roofing.

I WASNT UP ON THE ROOF AND AS FAR AS I KNOW HE DID A FINE JOB.

They called to set up the appointment within a couple of days and they were out later that same week and they were able to do most of what they needed to do that day. They did need to come back I guess about a week later and do a little additional work like refiling around some nails and the flushing and all that. They did all the work for the cost of the big deal. There were no additional charges and they were very thorough in checking out the roof. And when they had a delay because of the weather, in coming out they called me and let me know what was going on, they stayed in touch but they took care of it very promptly. Absolutely, if I needed any roof work done I would not call a different roofer, I would definitely go with that company again because it was another A experience.

Came out checked the roof with tune up plus replaced a vent cover. Everything went fine.

They showed up on time and found the roof leak and repaired that as well as checking the rest of the roof for any problems.They were very professional.and got the job done in a timely matter.

They made a few roof repairs which have since shown they worked during the recent monsoon rains. I recommend to anyone to get them out once a year to make sure the roof has not had damage from the blistering heat- gaps caused which if unrepired will cause more expensive damage.

I had to call them twice. My contact came out to my residence and walked the roof. He said I needed a new roof. I wasnt sure that I did. We did have a small leak, but were not committed to buying a new roof. They cancelled the first appointment due to rain and rescheduled for 10/21/13. They arrived while I was gone. They left a business card on the front door letting me know they had stopped by, I didnt receive a follow up call or anything else. The great thing is that the hole where the water was coming in, must have been fixed by them!!!

Went well. They had to call and reschedule once due to rain, but were always professional and rescheduled as quickly as possible. Work was performed as promissed, w/ a detailed note left itemizing what was done. I had pretty nominal repair needs, but I'd use them again for a larger project.

Scheduled them to come out and determine what roof problem had cause a leak and water damage to a bathroom wall and ceiling. Easy to schedule the free estimate and estimator was on time and showed us pictures of where he felt the issue was and provided a quote for $325 to repair. Turned out to be just the need to reseal some areas so asked if the Angie's list deal for $167 I had seen would be what we needed. He said yes so we just purchased the deal and paid $167 instead of the quoted $325. Scheduled the repair, which changed twice, but it was to come earlier in the week so that was fine. Ended up not being able to be home the day they came and did end up having to call the office just to confirm the work was completed. The process was painless and I would recommend this company.
