Clear Choice Roofing

This was as close to perfect as you can get. I contracted Clear Choice through an Angie's List "Big Deal." We discussed the job on the phone about a day later. They were at the house within a week. My situation might have been different from the normal. I did NOT have an active leak or any serious, visible problem. I bought the house in the last year, and the roof's age could be over 15 years. I also knew there was past damage that had been repaired, and thought I might have a loose or missing shingle. It was important to get someone qualified to take a look. The roofer from Clear Choice spent a few hours on the roof. He told me that he did replace some roofing nails, including a couple that were protruding. I think he also sealed and/or calked a few places. Here's one thing that speaks well of the company. I told everyone with whom I spoke that I was uncertain as to the roof's history, and I expected a likelihood that it would need replaced. No attempt was made to sell me a new roof. Instead, I was told the roof was in good shape, overall. There's some honesty in there, huh? The only "negative" that I'll mention is that it took a few steps to make the initial appointment. They did not use the scheduling information that I entered on Angie's List. I had to call. There was a little "telephone tag" before we settled on a time. I don't want to make a huge thing about this. I do actually understand why a roofer would want to discuss the type of roof, house, etc., in person. I raise this because it's really the only "nit".

Using an Angie's list coupon, I asked for a roof inspection after noticing a spot on my ceiling indicating there might be a leak. The provider inspected the roof and recaulked around necessary joints, addressing the leak. The service was provided in a timely manner and took very little time. The provider explained what he had done to the roof. Pleased with the service.

The employee arrived on time, and went straight to work. He showed me the parts he removed and how they were different from what he was installing. He was very polite and courteous. The work was done and my roof was left clean. I will not know the real results until the next heavy rain, but the new cricket that was installed had a significantly longer insert to go under the shingles and seal them, so I expect the issues of leaking water into my home around the chimney will be resolved.

Other than a few scheduling blunders, the work was excellent and the follow-up was as well.

I just purchased a house and the insurance inspector found there are a couple missing shingles. I called Clear Choice Roofing and they came out very quickly. The owner called me and explained what they did and sent the pictures per my request for the insurance company. It is really pleasant to work with Clear Choice Roofing.

The estimator/operations manager, James, showed up on time, checked the problem area, explained the best solution and provided the firm cost. The project was scheduled to accommodate our desire to have the repair done earlier than their first available date, and they met our request. On the repair date, the office called to let us know the roofer was on his way and he arrived on time. Existing shingles were removed, the barrier was installed and new shingles were installed over and around the barrier area. We were completely satisfied thus far, assuming that the the work fixed the problem, pending future storms and heavy downpours this winter, which will provide the ultimate test. They met all of our timing and installation requirements and are courteous and reliable.

They did a great job. The day of the service they were on time replaced the shingles and did caulking around vents and chimney. Told me I had about five years left on roof life and inspected rotten wood around chimney and gave me a very reasonable quote to get the work done. When I asked if this repair needed to be made ASAP they told me I could wait awhile and that to give them a call when I was ready. I love not feeling pressured and that they were honest. They could have told me roof needed replacing and chimney work had to be done now and I would have not known the difference. I would definitely recommend them and they are local to Austin!

I did not pay more than the Big Deal. The provider was really nice and he answered all my questions. He looked in my attic, said the attic ventilation seemed okay and measured the depth of my insulation. That was it. The impression I had at the end was I paid 75$ so he could give me an estimate for what it would cost to bring my installation up to speed. It was good information but in my mind I thought, why I am paying 75$ for an estimate? There was no report, other than the written estimate and a verbal "ventilation looks good."

It went well with no problems.

The technician came out and inspected our roof, fixing the one spot we knew was already a leak around the water heater vent. The only fluke was that the appointment was scheduled at 11am, and they actually came around 9am. We received a warning call beforehand from Clear Choice, but unfortunately my phone was on silent and we didn't realize anyone was at our house until my boyfriend heard him on the roof. We didn't really mind as Clear Choice did try to let us know they were coming early, so I understand. My boyfriend was able to catch the technician before he left to discuss how the inspection went, and that the leak repair was made. Overall, it was a great price and fast thorough service so I would recommend Clear Choice and use them again.

Clear Choice Roofing inspected my roof and caulked areas that need it. I gave them my home inspection report and off they went to caulk areas where nails holes were exposed and gaps where the venting touched the roof. I would use them again.

Great company communication with easy scheduling. Guy showed up on time, walked up on my split level roof, touched-up some spots around the fireplace and vents and edges of roof butting-up against vertical wall. He even measured one of my vents that I want to replace with a solar vent. I already knew my roof had hail damage, as he told me. He did not try to upsell a new roof. I HIGHLY recommend this honest company.

I purchased a maintenance package in the spring to have them come out and repair a few loose and torn shingles from a tree rubbing on the house. They were very professional and on time. Fixed them right away. I was very pleased with their work.

It was a terrible, terrible experience. It was probably one of the worst experiences of my life. It was not good. They came through in the end but it was a really hard struggle getting there. They were not good at communicating and there were all sorts of very unethical practices. I didn't get enough bids which was probably part of the issue. They kept saying they installed the best roofs in Austin but they had absolutely no documentation to back up that claim when I asked for it repeatedly. It was never provided. It was a lot of back and forth to even get them to complete the job to my satisfaction so I am not happy. I would absolutely not use them again.

They came out one time. They should call me when its time for maintenance but I have to call them. Its been a while so I don't remember much.

It went well, no problems with their work...but they put this coating on the roof so it wouldnt leak that turned in color overtime. Has a dirty look to it.

So gracious and helpful. Great price, and Iwould have used Clear Choice in a heart beat, but I'd already had another roofer set and he continuously put me off. I'd lined Clear Choice up to get the job done and the original roofer showed up that morning and started work. I HIGHLY recommend this company. He was really helpful and great to work with. Instant follow up.

Very friendly and courteous, and everything Gavin said was supported by the insurance adjuster and claim process. Great communication with his office regarding scheduling for the roof replacement. His workers kept my yard neat -- it was actually cleaner when they left than when they started! Would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs an honest assessment of the condition of their roof and assistance with insurance claims and follow-up work.

Prompt response, provided update on coupon terms, effectively explained requirements and will provide quote for work. Outstanding service overall.

The work needed was greater than what was covered with their Big Deal offer. So I requested a refund.

That turned out perfect. They were great. He showed up on time and fixed everything for me. A shingle had come off so he replaced it and then checked everything else on the roof too. I was pleased with the work and if I ever had roof problems I would definitely contact them.
