The service went well. A separate company came out and cleaned the sofa's previously and they did not get them clean. They were able to get the stains out and I was pleased with the service. I intend to call them again. They were very professional and they were very careful with the other pieces of furniture. They kept their equipment away from the other pieces of furniture. They were able to come out to my home the next day as they waited for the couches to dry from the previous service. They were in and out in about two hours.
Description of Work: They cleaned the upholstery on two white couches. The fabric is a heavy linen.

They were nice, professional and efficient but I did notice that they were not able to get a stain out. I wish they would have told me that they could not get in out instead of acting like they were trying to cover it up.
Description of Work: I had used Chem Dry in 2006 and he did a wonderful job. Since this gentleman went out of business I thought I would try this company to clean my carpets in a hallway and two bedrooms.

Got their advertisement in Money Mailer for $59 or $69 for a couch cleaning. Call up, they tell me they have $75 minimum, that's cool, so they can clean my ottoman and that'll cost $10 or $20. And they're a "green company" etc, etc. Yeah, I'm a sucker for greenwashing. They arrive, look over the couch and ottoman and write me a quote --- for $290...I'm like "Huh? Your advert said like $70 bucks?" The response: "Oh, that's just for the service. That doesn't include the cost of the chemicals or trip fee or...etc etc" I had houseguests coming the next day that I wanted to impress, so I was like "fine, whatever." Then they told me they can scotchguard it for another $80 -- at this point, sure, why not? So they do their thing and leave. So the dump their dirty water (stinking of chemicals, so much for 'green'" into my toilet -- spilling on floor, seat, etc. They also oversprayed the couch or something --- my entire tile floor had a white film on it slick as ice. After I slipped on that, I had to break out a bucket and mop. Couch looks ok, nothing spectacular. Bottom line, these guys are clowns. Unprofessional, scammy, with no attention to detail. Avoid at all cost.
Description of Work: Cleaned my couch & Ottoman

Surprisingly, Chem-Dry by the Millers seems to be a good sized carpet cleaning company in the Austin area, yet they were not listed (or if they were not under this name). The receipt I was given has numbers for New Braunfels, San Marcos, Seguin, San Antonio, and Austin, yet no listing under this name, seems strange to me. The receipt also did not have an address or headquarters location, only phone numbers. Two young men arrived on time and were courteous and friendly. I guess in my desire to avoid having to toss the new rug, I allowed them to give the cleaning a shot as they convinced me they had "special" urine removal chemicals. They were special alright. After working diligently on the rug for some time, they allowed it to "soak" with the chemical and proceeded with the sectional. Once done with the sectional, they returned to the rug. It was very obvious that not only were they not going to get it clean of the stains, but that it was a complete waste of time, and more importantly, my money. THE PROBLEM - they clean lots of carpets and rugs and know good and well what will come reasonably clean and what will just not look acceptable. This absolutely falls under the category of no way this would ever come clean, yet, they led me to believe there was a reasonable chance. Why? Because they were able to bill me $155 for the privilege of having a rug that wasn't even close to clean and wreaked of their chemicals for days. It was so bad, I had to put the rug outside and it took a week for the odor to subside. THE BETTER SOLUTION - they should have said, we clean hundreds of carpets and rugs and in our experience, there is no way we will get this rug to an acceptable condition and we will just be taking your money if we do. They are the experts and part of what we rely upon and pay experts for is their opinion in order to save us money. Not here - I believe they took advantage of my desire to "save" my new rug and proceeded with work they knew wouldn't work, at great expense. I give them an F for the rug as the best quality of service they could have provided was a refusal to perform the service due to experience in knowing it would not come clean and I would be dissatisfied. They also cleaned a sectional, which took them maybe 20 minutes. While it was clean and the job here was acceptable, it was $140, which seemed high for just the front side. I had a coupon and they found excuses why it wouldn't work on my job. I give them a "B" for the sectional due to price. Overall, I just felt ripped off. I give them a D (avg the low B and the F with the F being more impt task) I will never use Chem-Dry by the Millers again. I had called them because the previous Chem-Dry company I used that had done such a great job I couldn't locate.
Description of Work: I needed an off-white area rug cleaned which was brand new and had been soiled by a nervous dog during a storm in 5-6 spots. I also needed a sectional cleaned, but only on the front side as the back faces a two corners of a wall permanently and didn't need cleaning.
