This is our second time using Christian and again we were thoroughly impressed. We were out of town when this electrical work needed to take place and he was very patient and responsive in coordinating with us to have someone else meet him and let him in. He was prompt and professional, sending us an invoice to pay him 50% upfront by mail. He kept us abreast of all the details of his work and when the work was completed he sent a a complete recap of the job, including photos. Extremely high quality work from a very friendly, professional, reliable and ethnical guy. Very very pleased with his service.
Description of Work: Installed a new dedicated circuit and 20a 120v simplex receptacle for our new stackable washer/dryer unit

Christian is lovely- straight forward, 100% reliable, thorough, very knowledgable and competant, professional and a real pleasure to work with. He took his time to fully assess our electrical set-up (we have a very old home) and gave us his honest opinion and a complete estimate. I've owned my home for 8 years now and had plenty of repair people around, Christian is definitely the best electrician I've used in Austin to date.
Description of Work: We got an estimate on installing a tankless and putting in an outlet for a washer dryer unit. He will complete the work once we our washer/dryer is delivered

Christian was recommended to me by a coworker, we met at my new home at Lunch and we did a walk through where he found many problems the inspector failed to notice. We broke things down to issues that should be fixed immediately, things that could wait a bit and low priority, cosmetic repairs. Most of the repairs are what you would expect with a new home, some GFCI outlets were absent from the kitchen and a few DIY outlet projects from the previous owner were remedied. One of the big issues he found was dangerous wiring on the pool equipment: indoor wire ran through rickety PVC plumbing pipe to a blower and broken water heater, he disconnected them at the service box until I can get a plumber to cap off the gas line to the heater and have the equipment removed. I'm going to have Christian come back soon to fix some light fixtures, I didn't have it done on his first visit because I wanted to pick out new fixtures over the weekend.
Description of Work: Christian installed GFCI outlets in my kitchen, installed properly rated breakers, a new flourescent light in the garage and other fixes around my newly purchased home.

My fiance can do a decent amount of electrical work, but there are some jobs where you really need to bring in a pro. You'd think our job would be pretty simple: a new circuit for our electric range. But it required very heavy wire, some custom conduit, and a lot of drilling through brick - not so simple. Christian Chase was very accommodating in terms of schedule. He started work on a Saturday afternoon, then came back and finished the following Monday evening. He walked us through every step of the job and made sure we were comfortable before he started work. And when the work was done, you could barely tell anything had been added - except now our new induction range has power. Incredibly professional and courteous throughout, Christian is an example for Master Electricians everywhere. Chase Electric is fantastic, even for those and quot;simpleand quot; jobs.
Description of Work: Added a new 220 circuit for our induction range.

In 10 years as a homeowner, I have to say this is the best experience I've ever had with a tradesman. Super polite and professional, Christian Chase is not only a master electrician*, he's also a really nice person. I was so impressed at his knowledge, fastidious attention to detail, and thoughtfulness during the process. I needed a good electrician because I had a lot of dangerous unpermitted and quot;DIY wiringand quot; at my house that was frankly scary. I'm surprised my house passed inspection when I bought it. The breaker panel was so compromised the city had locked it to prevent any further tampering. This was a major repair that had to be done. Christian gave me a prompt and reasonable estimate for the job, stepped it out and ranked my problems in order of importance to help me budget, and allowed me to make two payments. He got all the permits and supplies very quickly, scheduled at my convenience, and worked until dark to get the job done right. He showed me everything he was working on and explained it in detail, his workmanship was precise, he kept appointments and cleaned up after himself each day. He pointed out other problems that he found along the way and gave me the choice whether to fix them or not. Yes, he did tell me I have dangerous aluminum wiring (which many houses from the 1960s do), but he didn't pressure me to fix it, and I didn't fix it right away because the breaker panel was such a disaster and needed doing right away. Finally, I'm a single woman and I always felt completely safe with him at my house, which has not always been the case in the past, so I'm very sensitive to this issue. He was super nice to my dogs too. I give him my highest recommendation. *Important to know -- a Master Electrician is the highest qualification you can have, so you know you are getting an expert when you use a master electrician. Seriously, check around -- many of the electricians practicing in Austin are not certified as Master Electricians.
Description of Work: Replaced dangerous electrical panel and rebuilt new electrical service.

First let me say that Christian Chase and his crew at Chase Electric are one of those contractor finds that just gives you faith again that there are good companies doing good quality work out there. They are an incredible gem, in an otherwise scary minefield of hiring contractors. I HIGHLY recommend him for any electrical work you may have and I intend to hire him anytime I need any other electrical work done on my home ... just don't use him when I need him :-) Christian is very easy to work with, does a fantastic job at a very fair price, and seems to me to be a true craftsman that loves what he does and enjoys doing it the right way. Christian also worked WITH me to define what I wanted done, and helped me prioritize based on budget and in the end had performed everything I needed, under cost, within budget, and all with no stress of my own. He made sure that my home and belongings were not damaged, cleaned up each night after they were finished for the day, communicated with me about little problems that cropped up or he needed a decision from me on, had great suggestions of his own, was very flexible and communicative on his scheduling, and was very fair with his rates and billing. I felt very comfortable with Mr Chase and his crew in my home, they are genuine, honest people who do a fantastic job. They were even great with my aging dog, who was there with them in the house each day as they worked and they kept an eye on him (and gave him ample treats) if the noises in the attic seemed to bother him and were very concerned about making sure he couldn't escape. I know my dog missed their company once they had finished, as they seemed very caring and affectionate to him as well. Anyway, I can't say enough good things about Christian and Chase Electric. You can't go wrong hiring them.
Description of Work: Chase Electric had rewired all electrical wiring in my attic (overhead lights, switches, junctions), added fan-boxes to several rooms that I intend to add ceiling fans to, rewired my bathroom, added true grounded 3-prong circuits to a few crucial parts of my house (for my computer equipment and entertainment/TV room), and rewired the outdoor light and added another circuit for an outdoor ceiling fan on the front porch. My house is very old, built in 1939, and had lots of very old cloth-wrapped wiring where the insulation had basically crumbled away & seemed to be an extreme fire hazard. In addition to this, given the age of the house & number of renovations and other modifications to the electrical system in the house during its life there were numerous oddities in my electrical system (such as random wall outlets connected to an electrical circuit for an overhead light on the other side of the house), it was no small task to properly remove and rewire all of these circuits and get it all working the right way. There were a slew of other issues that Christian Chase, Master Electrician and the owner of Chase Electric, had discovered and corrected for me ... such as inadequate grounds in other electrical circuits, open junctions, flaky GFCI, faulty breaker, etc. Mr. Chase was extremely knowledgeable, used quality materials, was conscientious and respectful of my home.

Provided free estimate. Price quoted is the price charged. Very reasonably priced, punctual and professional. Work was completed in an afternoon. Would definitely recommend this company and will be using them again in the near future.
Description of Work: Replace electrical outlets by the back door and off the deck next to the pond area. Remove older wiring which was a possible fire hazard.
