 + -1 moreConsidering the low cost of the technology and ease of automation, it is my opinion that in this day and age, most home security system installation and monitoring options are over-priced. Central Security is an exception. Central Security is an Austin business that offers same service that much larger and quot;name-brandand quot; corporate competitors offer. But at a more reasonable rate. (Plus, more of your money stays local!) The owner/installer, Russell Schmidt, was on time and on budget. I feel he did not overcharge with parts and labor. Even when newer keypads were needed, he offered to install some used ones he had on hand, free of charge. The in-home work was finished within a few hours and the system was ready. It took another day or two to work out some kinks with the internet/web access. But, it is up-and-running smoothly now. My wife an I love the web access and the smartphone app as well as e-mail notification features. The $300 up-front costs included: - a new control board - new motion sensor (equipment and labor) - upgrade to wireless monitoring (it uses cellular data network) - also installed new keypads since old keypads did not work with new control board. - plus, first and last month's monitoring subscription payment Central Security also offers a reasonable 90-day notice cancellation policy. So, I don't feel like I am being locked into a long-term contract. I like that.
Description of Work: Upgrade of existing home security system: Replaced control board & keypads. Install new wireless communication panel and motion-detection sensor. Setup for online monitor and control of home security system. Signed-on for remote monitoring service thru Central Security. Also included in the wireless monitoring options is access and control using a web browser and/or smartphone app. The web interface allows you to receive email messages based on customizable criteria (such as an alarm tripping or a sensor triggering.) All this for a lower monthly fee ($37) than certain big "name-brand" corporate competitors.
