CENTEX HOMES

Description of Work: Centex sold us a new home at a satisfactory price. The property was shown to us at a not ready to show condition, so an extensive punch list was started. The items on the punch list were eventually fixed or corrected but not until after 3 walkthoughs. Sadly , we had to point out many obvious areas ourselves that exhibited poor workmanship, i.e. poor paint job, or bad or damaged materials, ie cracked fence boards,etc.. It took two professional home inspectors (paid by us) to search and identify other not so obvious significant deficiencies in the construction and or appliances of our new Centex home. The first certified home inspector found roof shingles that were damaged over the garage area. This inspector also found damaged lap siding at the rear of the house along with a scratched stove and improperly finished kitchen cabinets and kitchen back splash. Furthermore, this inspector found damaged glazing on an interior side window and missing weatherstripping on exterior doors. The air conditioner was not operable at the time of inspection and the attic fresh air duct was missing a filter. The second inspection came after the repairs were done after the first inspection. The second certified home inspector found a bedroom cracked window, an air conditioner drain line was buried under the sod and probably draining into the foundation;since the inspector couldn't find a green grass area indicative of water anywhere around the air conditioner Finally when Centex had everything fixed and showroom ready, we signed off on the punch list and closed on the property.

Description of Work: BUILDER OF HOME. HOME WAS ALREADY BUILT AND ALMOST READY TO MOVE IN WHEN I PURCHASED THE HOME. MINOR WORKED WAS COMPLETED THEN I PURCHASED THE HOME.
