Went great! Coy the inspector called ahead to let us know when he would be arriving. When he got here, he was very courteous and answered all my questions while using an electronic leveler to check the foundation. Clean bill of health for the house at no cost. A terrific experience.

They bid $1,788 for replacement of 16 foot rotten beam, front of house.  Put in pressure treated 6"x6" wood, done in 2.5 hours on 6/15/17.  Paid $1,433, since job went quicker.  Included permit and engineer inspection.  First class work and service!!

post completion clean up could have been better. they could have used the front end loader to bust up the brick planter at the front of the house into smaller more manageable pieces. but, beyond that an overall good job

Abysmal. Centex Foundation is by far the worst company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. In my opinion their work is inferior, their staff and owners are rude and insulting, and I feel like they used their attorney Nick Bressi as a bully to force us to pay for substandard and incomplete work and to remove negative online reviews. In my opinion the company, its owners, its employees, and their attorney are amoral and operate without scruples. There were called out to fix a visibly uneven section of a pier and beam house. I showed Levi the section in question that was obviously lower than the surrounding floor and he indicated it would be a quick, easy, and inexpensive repair. After going under the house Levi stated in order to repair and level the area in question a beam and 4 concrete tubes would need to be installed also. He quoted me a price of $2,000. When the contract arrived the price had increased to $2,800. They sent a couple non English speaking workers to my home to do the work and not only did they make a huge mess, left dried concrete mix all over my yard and driveway, but also used my personal tools and other property to do their job. When they left the floor was still uneven and had not changed at all. They also broke a water pipe and just turned off the water and left without ever informing me of the damage. Centex called and asked for payment and I indicated I would pay when the job was complete. They stated it was complete and I said it was not because the floor was still visibly uneven. Levi then called me and told me they would get the floor level for $25,000-30,000 and demanded payment of $2,800. I responded I would not be paying them until they did the work they were hired to do. I then talked to Jeff Griffith who is one of the owners of Centex. I felt like he was rude, arrogant, insulting, and felt like he spoke to me in a belittling manner as though I was his subordinate. I felt insulted and disrespected. I lost my temper, used some choice words, and hung up on him. Then I got an email from his lawyer Nick Bressi inquiring why I had not paid them. I replied they had not done the work agreed upon. He insisted they had done it and threatened to sue me and place liens on the property if I did not pay for the work that had not been done. I then left a negative review on Facebook and got a Cease and Desist letter from Centex's attorney Nick Bressi threatening to sue me for leaving my opinion of their work and company in general. I initially removed my negative Facebook review out of good faith in hopes of resolving this matter amicably, but they are now suing for payment of their defective work and work not completed. So naturally I reposted my negative review of Centex on Facebook. On top of that, their attorney Nick Bressi is now suing me personally for mentioning him in my review. Just to be clear they didn't do what they promised and then placed me in a position pay an attorney a $1,500 to respond to their frivolous cease and desist and threatened of lawsuit. Our attorney offered to settle this without further expense by each party walking away from this and Centex reimbursing us the $1,500 we needlessly had to spend to retain an attorney to defend ourselves from their specious, retaliatory legal action. They have refused and are suing my 69 year old mother. So now we had to pay our attorney an additional $5,000 to defend ourselves from the specious, unscrupulous, and unmeritous frivolous lawsuits Centex and their attorney Nick Bressi have filed against us. They also had so many negative reviews on Facebook that they somehow disabled the review feature for their page so people couldn't get an honest picture of their company and staff. But they couldn't remove them from Google reviews or from here on Angie's List. My opinion is to avoid Centex at all costs. My opinion is they are dishonest, retaliatory, and their owners/staff are amoral and will say one thing to get your business but then do another. My opinion is they will use their attorney Nick Bressi to bully you into paying in order to avoid an expensive legal battle. Yes, it would have been cheaper to just pay them $2,800 for the work they DIDN'T DO than to pay our attorney $6,500 (as of now), but it's the principal of matter. But a customer shouldn't feel forced into paying for work not done simply to avoid a legal battle and legal fees many times that of the job. I feel like they were trying to extort us, as dissatisfied customers, into paying $2,800 for incomplete work in order to avoid an expensive legal battle. It certainly would have been cheaper and much less of a hassle just to pay them for the incomplete work, but as I said it's the principal of the matter. When people don't stand up to a bully, that bully keeps on bullying. In my opinion you would be wise to AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!!

"Dear Angie's List Members & [Member Name Removed], I believe our record here on Angie's List speaks for itself. We have been Super Service Award Winners for three consecutive years. We've achieved that by going above-and-beyond to provide excellent service. Unfortunately, out of 600 to 700 homes' that we repair each year, there are some that we just cannot satisfy, no matter lengths are taken. This is an example of such. We have had no choice but to file the collection matter with Small Claims Court. Its the least expensive option for all parties involved as together we look to resolve any remaining issues. And it is my hope we can do the same here. Respectfully, Jeff Griffith Partner & GM"

They started on time but they were not able to complete the job when the said they would. I was not living in Texas at that time and needed to return back home and I was unable to be present when they "leveled the house", which was not level at all. If you read their fine print, it says it is level basically when they say it's level. I meet with Ronnie and showed him the concerns that I had. In a 8 foot area the house still sags about 3 inches from side to side. They stated that they were unable to lift that wall because it was too heavy ( shouldn't "a professional foundation leveling company" know their limitations?) I was told on the phone by Ronnie prior to them starting that he did not believe there would be any problems with this job. I also should him pictures where they cut out the joists to my front porch every 5 feet where they dug to install the piers and they never repaired them. Ronnie pretty much said that it was my fault that I was not present when they "leveled the house" and I should have called him and given him the opportunity to repair the joists. I paid this company over $22,000 and I have to supervise them !?!?!? If they are sending crews out to "level and stabilize" a foundation why wouldn't they repair damages that they cause or at least make me aware that they did it so I could repair the cut joists? Instead they just reinstalled the decking boards right over the cut joists. I recently found a pipe that they damaged and covered the hole back up and they didn't say anything about that either. I am glad that I have construction knowledge and found the damages prior to it becoming a bigger issue. The bottom line is they charge a small fortune to do a job or attempt to do a job and if they can't level a foundation they give you excuses why they can't do it. They DO NOT compensate you for any additional work that needs to be done because their crews caused damage. I laugh when I hear their commercials "we shoot you straight" this couldn't be farther than the truth!! My expectation for this amount of money is to have a somewhat level house and not finding damages where they were working. It is a shame that this type of industry is not regulated with inspections, licensing or permitting. That is why they can get away with all of this. I would think twice before hiring these guys! They are pleasant to work with but why wouldn't they be?? they very politely robbed me and left me with a house that is not level and damages where they tried to do their job. I have other pictures but I figured what I posted below will give the point.

Good experience from beginning to end. The company worked with my budget and scheduled work promptly. Humberto and his crew treated both my house and me with respect. They leveled the house to a degree that allowed all windows and doors to open. And placed shims The length of the shaker beams and GREATLY reduced the bounce. All of the staff was courteous. From the manager that responded to my first inquiry, the scheduling team, the estimator that worked up the contract to the team that actually crawled under my house. I would recommend this company to anyone, including family.

The engineers and administration weren't good. I found out that I had a discount at the end of the project when I had already paid and they said that they had already closed my account. I contracted Centex Foundation Repair to fix the foundation of my house because I had a warranty by Centex from the seller of the house when I bought it in 2000. The foundation of the of the right side of the house was fixed by Centex, my foundation was sliding on the left side facing the street. Centex sent a staff member to inspect and measure the extent of the damage to the foundation. Prior to January 18th when the repair commenced, Centex sent 2 staff members, to walk through my empty house again with me upon request. I showed them possible location of plumbing pipes around the house. There was no leak around the house noted by the three of us at that time. So I signed a finance contract and paid $4,000 on January 18th, they started the repair. I received notification that work was completed on January 20 as opposed to the one week to ten days they told me, it will take to do the work. They refused to give me, an engineering report upon request or notify me of what was done and how the work was done. I moved back into the house on February 7th, and had no shower, or hot water for anything because the hot water had to be turned off to prevent further damage by a leak from a broken pipe during the repair . Meanwhile, I received an invoice with a charge of about $900 extra to pay Centex for the repair. I requested a recalculation and was snubbed by an employee named Melanie. I was notified via email, by this Centex staff member that a plumbing leak was noticed and I will be given $200 to have an expert conduct a leak test. I paid $350 to conduct the leak test done by a reputable plumbing company ARS Rescue rooter. I was charged $4,050 to rerout my plumbing to prevent further need to fix an underground leak. Meantime, I received a letter from Centex stating that the warranty offered will be null and void if the leak is not repaired within 90 days of the foundation repair. After the rerouting of my plumbing system, I faxed the receipt to Centex in less that 30 days. On March 18th, another staff member from Centex left a message on my answering machine stating that a drain line was also broken and I have to fix it otherwise if a problem occurs, I will have to pay Centex to fix it, emphasizing that the warranty will not apply to any problem that occur during the coverage period. He also said they will not pay to have the broken drain line fixed, that I should fix it and notify them. I contacted Centex Foundation threatening to contact an attorney because they had deceived me by not telling me what was broken and will not fix the pipes they broke during the work. I have also engaged the better business bureau to assist in resolving this issue. Centex's general manager is requesting that I ignore the email and phone call from their staff members also denying that pipes were broken. He also insists on not doing anything about the problems. I am currently making monthly payment of $300 finance fees. My desired outcome is that Centex pay for the pipes broken and make amends for the work and the trauma my family and I have been through because of their mistakes and negligence.

"Ms. {Member's name removed}, You have already brought this matter to the BBB, and the found not fault with us. Did you really have to go here, to Angie's List as well? For the record, I am posting my response, word for word, to your claim thru the BBB so other Members of Angie's List can have both sides. I believe our record with Angie's List and Super Service Award Winner for the past two years, speak to our true standards and customer service. SENT 4/5/2016 THRU THE BBB ONLINE COMPLAINT CENTER Ms. {Member's name removed}, One, CenTex did not break any plumbing. During excavation, we found water coming from the "incoming, pressurized" line from the street. Secondly, CenTex is not responsible for plumbing; during installation, leveling, backfill or subsequent warranty adjustments. See Section Three, Part A of attached Agreement entered into. Please disregard the letter about a leak, it was sent in error. You have fixed the incoming line, and had the outgoing/drain lines tested. You do not need to do anything further. The engineering report details the work performed. However, because you essentially borrowed money from us, thru our in house payment program, the job is not paid in full. As a result, you are not privy to that report. You haven't yet paid for it. When you have paid us in full, you will receive the original report. Rest assured the work was done properly, because it was permitted thru the city and that permit was closed out with the engineering report. I hope this brings closure to this situation."

We first made contact with Centex in December. They sent a man out immediately to give estimate on a house we had recently purchased. His estimate was $5400  and the job ended up being $5300. He knew the work would be a few months out. He did let us know in January that any contract signed before Feb would honor current prices and that their would be an increase after that. We set the date. The men were out promptly at 8AM. The dug all of the needed holes on the first day. They covered all the holes with plywood and tarps before they left for the day. it rained heavily over night, they had to spend the first couple of hours pumping water out of the holes. They were very good about letting us know what was going every step of the way. After everything was done, all the dirt they had dug up, you couldn't tell they had dug up anything at all. They were very respectful of the property. we're very happy with the work and would definitely call on them again for any future foundation work needed.

The technician arrived and took readings throughout the house to draw out a map of the floor's level. Once completed he sat down with us to explain what it all meant in really good detail. He explained all our options and did not in any way try to oversell us. We have some minor work we could have done and he could have sold far harder. However, the good experience we had on this inspection will ensure that we use Centex if we need foundation repair in the future.

"{removed member name}, Thanks for taking the time to post. Yes, plumbing can be an issue, about 1/3 of the homes we repair have plumbing issues when we are thru. We address this consideration on our home page at www.welevelit.com. This in an effort to bring attention to such possibilities. It appears from your post that your problem was not with the work completed but by the annoyance of having plumbing issues when complete. Regarding the matter of collection, we completed your work on 8/21/14. You had 30 days to pay or per the Agreement your Warranty would be null and void. The crew was great and the supervisor of the project and superintendent (Umberto) were very knowledgeable about the process and the work that was required to complete the job.  Work began about 8 in the morning and ceased about 5 every evening.  The supervisor was on site at all times.  Even though he did not speak English and I do not speak Spanish, there was always a bilingual member of the crew available to translate.  I felt very comfortable asking questions throughout the project.  It took 8 calendar days to complete the work, from digging the holes to cleaning up the job site.  It would have been quicker, but there was a rain day on Saturday,11/22/14.  I had 5" of rain, all the holes filled with water, and each hole had to pumped out before work could begin again on the following Monday.  Everyone was polite and professional at all times.  I was very impressed with the pride people seemed to take in their work and doing a good job.  My experience with the CenTex Inspector, Nick, and conversations with Melanie in the CenTex office also left me feeling that they really wanted to help in any way that they could, not that they were just saying things to get my business.
When they started the leveling, done with jacks, I was upstairs.  I heard the wall "crackling" and a crack shot out from a corner of the window and up the wall.  I got up to go downstairs and the door to the room was stuck.  I got the door open and after that I stood out of the way on the stairs, just watching the process.  By alternately lifting different parts of the house, the doors stuck and unstuck and different parts of the house went up (or down).  Jacking is done as a team, with one person loudly counting so that everyone can hear.  Umberto went from one room to the other, checking to see how level each room was after individual raises.  The process took a few hours.
There are cosmetic issues in my home as a result of raising the house.  There are some cracks in the walls and I'm currently dealing with plumbing issues from leaking drain pipes under the slab.  I'm dealing with the plumbing now so that my warranty for the leveling can be issued.  They recommend that there be at least a 4-6 week wait to begin dealing with the cosmetic issues. The house will settle after the leveling.  On the bright side, all my doors close and stay where ever you put them when they're open and I've closed windows that haven't closed in years.  I would do it again, with CenTex, in a minute.
