+ -1 moreI've used Careful Home Inspections twice and both times the inspectors did a thorough job in evaluating construction of a new house. Their reports provided valuable feedback to the builder on issues which had not been identified. I met an inspector personally for one inspection and was impressed by his level of knowledge of what is required for regulatory compliance and what should be fixed to deliver a quality product.

+ -1 moreThe guy that came out was very professional. He worked with us been through everything. He showed everything that was wrong and pointed out the places where the house wasn't in really good shape. It was a really thorough and very detailed and he probably spent about three and a half hours there. The price was less than we expected it to be. The person that I referred them to also they do the next day for them.
Description of Work: For home inspection I used Careful Home Inspections in June of last year before we bought the house. It was a home inspection pre purchase.

Cliff took great care in checking all mechanical systems and answered all of our questions. He provided a well written report in less than 24 hours. He is very personable and I recommend his work.

Description of Work: As a first time home buyer, the entire buying process can be a bit daunting/overwhelming. However, Careful Home Inspection, Jason Edens, was very, very helpful. Provided a full home inspection. Jason was very thorough and accommodating. He did not mind having me follow him around like a lost puppy and answered any and all questions. The inspection was not rushed, reviewed our new home from top to bottom, and provided very helpful tips to maintain the home moving forward. Keep in mind the home was built in 1961, so there was a lot of ground to cover. We had the inspection report back later that night which was also very helpful being our contingency was about to expire. I have not written any reviews on any sort of review sites before. However, I felt compelled to do so now as I was so impressed with the service and would recommend Jason, Careful Home Inspections to any/all home buyers, especially first time buyers.

+ -1 moreNow that my moving dust has settled, I'm finally able to take a moment to thank all the folks who were supportive in my first solo experience in buying a new home. One of the decisions I had to make in this process was choosing someone to do my home inspection. My realtor provided several names, but was ethically unable to endorse any one company. In seeking out personal references, I was given several enthusiastic endorsements for Careful Home Inspections. Cliff Mark did a remarkably thorough job in inspecting my home. Perhaps he sensed my nervousness and complete lack of knowledge in this area because he took a great deal of time to explain all the details he found. He pointed out items which were lacking, but not a cause for undue concern as well as those needing immediate attention. I couldn't believe the degree to which my new home was scrutinized. He passed all this information to my realtor in a very timely manner and was responsive to his request for further details. I think Careful Home Inspections is deserving of their name and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

+ -1 moreCliff actually inspected two homes for us. Both inspections took 3.5 to 4 hours to complete. Both houses were pre-1980 and under 1500 sqft. The price above is an average for the two inspections. We decided to pass on the first home due to Cliff's report and found a nicer home at a cheaper price which Cliff subsequently inspected. On both occasions Cliff was already at the house when we arrived. During the inspection process Cliff pointed out major issues of concern, all of which are photographed. He also uses a voice recorder to capture comments as he works. He uses the comments to write the detailed report which, on both occasions, arrived late in the evening of the same day as the inspection, to my email, as a MS Word document with embedded photos, Cliff is very through, upbeat and willing to explain and answer questions during the inspection. He is also available after the inspection if you need further clarification or require additional information.
Description of Work: House Inspection report headings and items STRUCTURAL SYSTEMS [ Foundations,Grading & Drainage, Roof (Covering Materials,Structure & Attic), Walls (Interior & Exterior),Ceilings & Floors, Doors (Interior & Exterior), Windows, Stairways (Interior & Exterior), Fireplace/Chimney, Porches, Balconies, Decks, and Carports ] ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS [ Service Entrance and Panels, Branch Circuits, Connected Devices, and Fixtures ] HEATING, VENTILATION AND AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEMS [ Heating Equipment, Cooling Equipment, Duct System, Chases, and Vents ] PLUMBING SYSTEM [ Water Supply System and Fixtures, Drains, Wastes, and Vents, Water Heating Equipment ] APPLIANCES [Dishwasher, Food Waste Disposer, Range Exhaust Vent, Ranges, Cooktops, and Ovens, Microwave Oven, Mechanical Exhaust Vents and Bathroom Heaters, Garage Door Operator, Doorbells and Chimes, Dryer Vents ] OPTIONAL SYSTEMS [Gas Supply Systems] These were the items present in the homes we had inspected. Cliff's report also contains more items that did not apply to our inspections. Each of the sections listed could also contain "Additional Information" and "Recommendation" subsections as needed by Cliff to describe the particular situation or condition. Cliff does not do a damaging insect inspection himself but he can arrange for one to be done at the same time.
