+ -1 moreHad a issue with the car starting. They had two different attempt to "fix" the problem and each time it was reported back to me as being fixed. I finally had to take the car to the dealer and in that visit it was repaired. We received good work from the shop prior to this but at the first non-standard issue, it did not solve the problem.

Description of Work: Our Volvo started leaking something, and since the shop we used to take it to is now closed, we took it to Capital V based on positive reviews. Robert worked us in, called within a few hours to let us know it was the radiator, and asked what we wanted to do. We were hesistant to fork out the money if there were going to be other issues (we are considering selling it), so we asked him to give everything else a good look and let us know if there were any other issues. He did and called back with a short list of possible problems, none of which he said were major, and 75% of which he fixed while he was looking, just because he was right there and they were easy fixes, and did not charge us a dime. He did not scare us into replacing the radiator because we only dirve the car around town a few days a week, but said it wold be unwise to drive it any distance. In the end, we decided to hold off due to expense, and maybe let my husband tinker with replacing it on his own with a mechanic friend. Robert even told us which brand of radiator to buy as far as easiest fit and best quality. Went to pick up car and even though we offered to pay him a diagnostic fee for his time, he refused. Nice, professional, honest. if we do end up keeping the car, we will take it to him to work on in the fiture. His tune-up cost was also $125 less than the local Volvo shop in north Austin.

+ 2 moreCar towed in because of a lugging and bucking symptom which caused the car to be undriveable. Robert and the guys ran diagnostic and let me know it was a Throttle Module Failure, they called local Volvo dealer to confirm fixing it was covered under and extended warranty Volvo issued and let me know so fixing it only cost me a tow from their shop to the dealer. I've brought our family's '88 240, '85 740 GLE, '91 940 SE, '02 S60 T, and my now '01 S60 T5 to Capital V Connection for over 15 years now and I can't say enough good things about these guys. If you are looking for a place to be your local 'Volvo Guys' then these are your men. They tell you what is necessary, what isn't worth fixing, quick turn-around and always easy to get an appointment plus overnight drop-off is very convenient. I live in north Austin now but still make the trek down south just to keep working with them.

+ -1 moreI had to have my car towed in, since it didn't have enough power to actually drive. It's a 1998 Volvo, and I'm used to spending big bucks on repairs. I braced myself for bad news -- new transmission? catalytic converter? I can't tell you how happy I was that they were able to diagnosis the problem -- a wonky gear shift button had been pushed in -- re-set the car's computer, test drive the car to confirm the diagnosis was correct -- and get it back to me the same day. I was gleeful. Robert, the owner, is professional, honest, and knows his Volvo's. If you're in South Austin, these guys should be your Volvo mechanics.
Description of Work: My 1998 Volvo would start, but didn't have enough power to drive. They diagnosed the problem, quickly, efficiently, and professionally. Best of all, I had my car back the same day, and it cost less than $100!
