Our experience with Jonathan was the best experience we've EVER had with a home repair/tradesperson in over 30 years of home ownership. We had a near electrical fire because of a much-outdated breaker panel in our 1922 house. When he found out about our situation, Jonathan began managing our project at a moment's notice, and proceeded to immediately coordinate the permits needed with the city and the energy department. He even went to the city office in person to move our work along faster than it was going when he was waiting for people to return his calls. He communicated everything about the process clearly; he was efficient and on time; and he was a strong advocate for our emergency project with the horrible bureaucracy that is the City of Austin. After contacting three electricians I had used before, none of which could come out yesterday, I went to Angie's List and was referred to three different companies on the list. I responded with my problem, and almost immediately received a phone call from one of them to tell me they wouldn't be able to come out until Monday, which was four days later. I was grateful for the call, so I knew they were not a possibility. Very shortly after that, Jonathan Gibson from Brightside called and told me he could be out around four pm. After listening to that infernal beeping for hours, I was very happy to hear this! He arrived early, after calling to tell me he was on the way, and began working on the alarm. He checked out the installation wiring, tested the battery I had inserted, and still the beeping continued. He then went to buy a replacement alarm, returned, and installed it. What followed wasn't blessed silence, but it was very funny. That darn beeping continued, much to the dismay of both of us. It turned out that it was the old alarm that was still in the house, and Jonathan and I had a good laugh over that. He took it with him to dispose of, and I've lived in peace and quiet since. Jonathan is personable and efficient. He has started his own business (he's a Master Electrician) so that he can spend more time with his family. He found it hard to get time off for special school events for his children when he was working for other companies. As a former educator, I'm a strong supporter of parents' participation in their children's education, so I commend him for valuing his family so highly. I wish him every success with his family and his business!
