Bonus Building Care

Several months ago, we noticed that sodas were rapidly disappearing from our refrigerator that is reserved for our customers? refreshments. We thought this was unusual & made sure that all of our employees were aware of our policy to reserve those refreshments. We put a tracking system in place to keep count of how many refreshments were being used. A few weeks later, we recorded that sodas had been missing over the weekend, during a time when no employees were at the office. Our time-recorded key cards confirmed that no one other than the cleaning staff was present that weekend. When this came to our attention, we immediately contacted our franchise owner. He was helpful in addressing the issue & agreed to switch our cleaning crews, as we did not want the same individuals in our office building. Our office manager has continued to keep detailed notes of our sodas and other refreshment supplies every week. On 8/3/09, our office manager confirmed that soda was again missing from the supplies. On that weekend, all employees were not on the premises, as confirmed by our logged key cards. The only persons present were using the key card provided to Bonus. This confirmed that someone from the cleaning staff had again been inappropriately accessing our refrigerator and consuming our refreshments without authorization. This incident was upsetting to us, since we are uncertain what other restricted property and information might be compromised without our consent. Therefore, our office manager called the franchise owner to explain the situation & let him know that we would be terminating our services. They discussed the nature of the most recent incident & he expressed that he did not believe his crew took anything. Shortly after, the owner did call back and informed our office manager that he would like to terminate service w/ us due to the lack of trust. He informed us that he had already spoken w/ Shayne at Bonus' office and to contact with him to get further instructions. Our office manager called Shayne to discuss what was to happen next. The conversation with Shayne was not acceptable. He interrogated our office manager, as if she had done something wrong. He questioned whether she was telling the truth & if she was capable of keeping track of the number of sodas in the offices, as well as if she would actually know when one was missing. His tone was insulting and inappropriate. We have only provided factual information to Bonus. After speaking with Shayne, our office manager was transferred to Melissa, the office manager for Bonus. Melissa stated she could transfer us to a different cleaning crew so that we could continue service. However, we do not want to continue service or have any ongoing relationship with Bonus. Melissa proceeded to tell us that the only options we have were to buy out our contract or switch to another cleaning crew. This is totally unacceptable to us. They are trying to make us into the bad guys & that isn't right.
