I'm still trying to resolve a current insurance claim with this company. Last September the company attempted to move me to another apartment across town. The van flipped over with all my furniture and belonging inside and damaged each and every item. Once at my new apartment the movers went on to damage the stairs, walls, and property from the 1st floor of my condo all the way up three stories. I've been holding onto my ruined couch, that's taken up a spot in my garage for the entirely of my lease that no longer has legs because the company claimed I must hold unto the damaged items until the claim is resolved. I have just given my 60 day notice to leave my current lease and still have not heard back from this company after I've called almost everyday and have gotten no responses. I will be responsible for the damage they've done to my landlord's property and will have to replace all my furniture out of my own pocket. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY under any circumstances. Dustin Myrlin is the claim specialist who has been avoiding my calls and not properly handling my claim. Hunter Armstrong is the individual who is president of the company that should go under.

It's hard to describe the nightmare situation we experienced with Blue Whale and our claim is still being ignored over a month later. They arrived late and unprepared. They attempted to cancel in the middle of the move. They put huge holes in the walls of the place I was moving out of. They damaged almost every item including our fridge and washing machine which still hasn't been resolved in our claim. We have emailed and called and are ignored. From the stress of the move to dealing with damaged items and now for them not to make it right, I have no choice but to post this review to warn others against using this company.

Fair at best. Well over time scheduled, workers did not want to move items as committed, truck was struck on rise in culdesac when they turned around, then demanded a large tip...Not a great experience bit items were moves with minimal damage.

Knowing that we had many items to move, we called Blue Whale Moving to come out to our home to give us a written bid of what it would cost us. The man who came out said that the amount of the bid would vary only by the final number of boxes that Blue Whale would ultimately have to move above their initial estimate of 200 boxes. This seemed reasonable to my husband and I and we hired them for the move. They promised two trucks and four movers on the day of the move. When the day arrived, only one truck and two movers showed up at 8:30 a.m. After the movers had loaded the truck approximately 2/3rds full, they came to us and said that the moving costs would be $800 more than they quoted because the guy that came out to give us the quote "didn't include a lot of furniture that should have been included." We were informed that the actual moving men are independent contractors that Blue Whale hires, and that these moving men compare a list of items provided by Blue Whale against their own list of items to be moved. When we called Blue Whale to inform them that we were not going to pay additional money for items that they neglected to include in their quote, they responded with "No problem, we'll just unload the truck and be on our way!" We were stuck in a really difficult situation, and after nearly an hour arguing with them, we agreed to pay an extra $500 to Blue Whale, only on the condition that we would not also be charged for any boxes that exceeded their initial estimate. After several hours, a "manager" type mover showed up and had the other two movers unload most of the truck and reload it again so that it could be loaded more efficiently. Finally, at about 4:30 p.m., the ONLY truck that had showed at that point left for Lakeway, leaving much of our belongings behind. I went with the movers to the Lakeway house to supervise unloading, while my husband had to stay behind to see if another truck would actually show up for our remaining stuff. After about an hour, a Blue Whale DUMP TRUCK showed up to collect the remainder of our belongings. As the movers were loading additional furniture and belongings into the uncovered DUMP TRUCK, it started to rain heavily. The "managing" mover then asked if my husband had any tarps to cover our stuff! Meanwhile, at the Lakeway house, the movers there were putting boxes wherever they wanted- even though every box had been carefully labeled on EACH SIDE as to what room they were to go in. Finally, at about 9:30 p.m., the Blue Whale dump truck showed up at the Lakeway house to unload. Somewhere along the way, a large leather cushion on the back of our leather sofa was lost, leaving us with two cushions to cover a three cushioned sofa back. Nice... The movers finally left at about 11:45 p.m. and we were so angry and frustrated with the whole experience we could barely sleep that night. I do not recommend Blue Whale Moving to haul away trash, let alone move household furniture and other items.
Description of Work: My husband and I were moving from the Westlake area to Lakeway. We had lived in the same house in Westlake for over 18 years, so we had quite a few items to move.

Don't hire Blue Whale Moving Co. The move itself, and the follow up customer service was a severe disappointment. We have never hired a professional moving company -- we have always moved ourselves, but due to a recent car accident, one of us wasn't able to move the big stuff. I did a lot of research leading up to hiring Blue Whale. I read many reviews on Next Door, Google, Yelp, Angie's List, and others. Blue Whale came highly recommended. They were hands down our first choice. I was given specific instructions via email and phone on how to best prep for the move and their movers. I am an organizer anyway, so the instructions were simple. I labeled every box, specified what items would be going to the new house and what items would be going to storage, and finally, I drew a map of our new house and a diagram of where all the furniture would go. This was somewhat time consuming and expensive, but I wanted the move to be as easy and seamless as possible. We were scheduled for a noon - 4:00 pm move on a Saturday. The customer service rep said they had one job before us but it was an easy one and could they start earlier if the first job ended before noon. I said sure. I asked for a 30 - minute call ahead. Since I did not hear from anyone I rushed over to the old house by 11:45 am to be there for the movers by noon. No movers. I waited an over an hour in an empty house until they called after 1:00 saying they were running behind, hadn't eaten lunch and that they were going to stop and eat and then come to my house. They said it would take them 45 minutes (making them close to 2 hours late). I told them I really would have appreciated a call earlier since I had been sitting at the house waiting on them. They were not very apologetic. They finally arrived around 2 pm. I waited at my old house until they arrived, which was a BIG WASTE of my time and Saturday. I went over all the boxes, which items would be going to the new house and what items would be going to storage, then showed them the map I had drawn of the new place and where all the furniture would go (per the instructions). Things couldn't have been more clear or organized. When they loaded the truck they accidentally mixed up the house and storage items and had to completely unload and reload the truck. There were only two guys and the loading and unloading to a VERY LONG TIME. They did not finish loading the truck until 5:30 pm. The whole move was supposed to be completed by 4:00 pm. I had spent the entire day at the old house waiting on them with nothing to do. Again, a huge waste of time. We stopped at the storage unit first. Again, they did not have the truck organized enough to find all the "storage" labeled items, so some of the storage boxes ended up at the new house, which my husband and I had to take to the storage unit later. We did not arrive to our new house until 6:30 pm. My husband was very frustrated and didn't understand what took so long (neither did I). He ended up helping them unload the truck, finishing the job. The map that I drew of the new place served no purpose because they just piled everything up and left it in the main living areas. I had to later sort out the boxes and put them in the appropriate rooms. They finished the job at 9:30 pm. It was absolutely the worst experience. Once I started unpacking several dishes were broken and our dining table top was scratched. We have very nice furniture and it was not handled with care. A few days after the move the service rep called to ask how the move went. I told her in detail how horrible the experience was and how disappointed we were. She offered little-to-no apology and said she would share this info with the team. There was no discount offered, no refund offered, and no follow up from an owner or manager. I even let her know I would be writing a detailed review and posting it on review sites. Again, no remedy or consolation. I am from the world of customer service and place a high value on making sure clients are happy with their experiences. I also know the best form of marketing is word of mouth and personal referrals. That said, I would never hire Blue Whale Moving Co. again and I would not recommend them to anyone I know or don't know.

I will NEVER hire/use them again! They broke 2 pieces: my antique grandfather clock, + 2 pieces of wood were chipped off other pieces. The 2 movers tried to get more money from me, saying my 2-seater couch was larger than estimated. They did not finish putting 1 big armoire back together, promising to return the following day. To be fair, 1 of the 2 movers got sick, but they wouldn't call another person to come help. Only 1 guy returned the next day with his small child, so I, being short, had to get up on a ladder to help him put it back together - a job very difficult for 2 strong guys!!

Writing this on behalf of my husband to had hired Blue Whale to move his office today. They had committed to arrive between 2-3pm, and said they would phone 30 minutes before they would arrive. At 2:30 they hadn't called, so my husband phoned Blue Whale and asked how much longer it would be before they arrived. The dispatcher told him the crew was stopping off for a soda and should arrive at his office in 20-30 minutes. At 3:10 they had still not arrived. SO my husband called back and this time was told that the crew "mis-judged" the traffic and time to get to his office, and so would still not arrive until 3:30 at the earliest. Since my husband had a 5pm commitment tonight, he told Blue Whale he would like to re-schedule for first thing the next morning. They said they could not do that, so he cancelled. Not one word of apology from Blue Whale for failing to honor their commitment.
Description of Work: Promised to arrive between 2-3pm to move four pieces of office furniture. They failed to show up when promised, so we cancelled the move.

I have used them twice and they were wonderful both times. I have had no problem with them. They did a long haul for me as well. They are reliable. They have a reasonable price and they work with you. Everything was fine, no broken items, no lost items. They got here on time, they actually got there before I did. They were just wonderful. If I used them again then I was satisfied. They were right on time where they were supposed to be and they knew what they were supposed to do. They were courteous. I am not satisfied with the results. When they packed the boxes they packed two of my glass lamp shades in the same box with not enough protective wrapping. Because of this, my favorite lamp shade was broken. I filed a claim with them, and while waiting on that I spoke with someone at a lamp shop about how much it would cost to repair or replace the lampshade. He told me that it would be between $500-$600 for a cloth shade, not even a glass shade. The moving company only wrote me a check for $50 as compensation for my broken lamp. I am very dissatisfied with this.

Enclosed please find the completed Complaint Resolution Form as well as three client-signed invoices dated 11/11/13, 11/12/13 and 4/29/14, as well as the pamphlet entitled “Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move in Texas.” On each invoice, we have highlighted in blue the sections related to our TXDMV-mandated Carrier Liability. It states our liability for any damage or loss to shipments is limited to $.60 per pound per article unless the carrier and shipper agree, in writing to a greater level of liability. This was signed by [member name removed] on each of the three invoices. Additionally, [member name removed] initialed acknowledgement of receipt of the pamphlet “Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move in Texas” on each invoice. Of note, this pamphlet, “Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move in Texas” gives an explanation of the $0.60 per pound limit of liability as well as outlines TXDMV’s claims process, including the timeline that a household good carrier is obligated to, which we adhered to. This same information regarding liability and insurance is also included in the estimates the client first received. Our liability according to the state of Texas is $.60 per pound per article and we went beyond that and offered [member name removed] a payment of $50, which equates to more than eighty-three pounds worth of damaged goods. At Blue Whale, we strive to execute 100% of our moves with no damage and no stress to our client. Unfortunately, we do not achieve 100% as damage is part of the moving process. While we regret that [members name removed] went anything but perfectly, we feel that we followed TXDMV’s damage claim process specifically and promptly, and that our settlement payment significantly exceeded the $.60 per pound limit of liability to which we were obligated. Please feel free to contact me to discuss any questions you may have.

They moved all of our furniture and my ex's boxes, since she had recently been injured and couldn't move them. And because of problems with her lender, she even had to store her stuff over the weekend, and it was not a problem. I would recommend Blue Whale to anyone, and already have.
Description of Work: Blue Whale came in and moved both my ex and I separately on the same day. They were fast, professional, courteous and just great guys. We had a huge house that had to be split, and they did it much faster than I could have ever imagined. We even had to add things in after the initial estimate and that was no problem.

Blue Whale was very responsive and I was impressed by their customer service information. However, I didn't like the fact that they needed to unload the pod at the storage facility, then reload it again to move to the new location. I found another company at roughly the same price who will store the loaded pod(s) intact until they are delivered to the new location. I decided to use the other company based on the fact that they don't have to load/unload the unit twice. I did appreciate being able to go on line for an quote and the person I talked to at Blue Wale was very helpful and informative.

They were good, everything went seamlessly, they put everything together, some people just drop everything in the room but they put all the beds together and got everything right. They were like regular movers but they were local. they showed up on time, they did the job, they were done maybe an hour early and everything went swimmingly well. You call them, make appointment and they show up. they didn't wear uniforms but they were good. I don't foresee moving in town. If we move I will be moving to Florida.

The came an gave an estimate and told us EACH piece of furniture would be carefully wrapped and taken care of . On the day of the move they did not show up at the scheduled time and had to call the office which told me they had to go pick up another truck (not my issue). When they arrived they the crew walked around the house and adjusted the bid upwards for almost an hour. I had to call the office again and discuss the bis and price quoted. Once they started moving, they did not wrap any of the pieces like they stated they would. We even videoed them running with furniture and the drawers almost fell into the pool because they were horsing around. The crew kept stating that they were professionals and they know how to move furniture and did not need to wrap it. I called the office NUMEROUS times asking for a supervisor to please come supervise the move. That request was denied. Many, many pieces of furniture was damaged and called the owner to rectify the situation but he refused to do so and claimed if I spoke bad about them he would sue for slander. He also stated since he was also an attorney he could certainly run up my bill. They never paid to fix any of the furniture. We have video and pictures of all the damage.

I called in and requested a estimate, the person doing the estimate arrived as scheduled and completed estimate quickly, She advised me of options regarding box and packing material required and cost as opposed to getting on my own. ordered box/packing material from Blue Whale, (was less expensive and easy to have it delivered, since I work nights and have a small car!) the 2 days prior to move I was called into work (my pack/move days) so on moving day I was not ready. The movers placed in truck what they could and then assisted me with packing my special items as lovingly as if they had been theirs! perhaps I got the pick of the litter, but I doubt it. i think they just care for your possesions as much as they would their momas! Thanks Blue Whale.... PS I may be moving again soon, I'll give ya a call Thanks~ Dee
