A serviceperson made a 10 minute visit to my home and diagnosed our wine fridge as needing a new control board. I paid 1/2 of the fee. The bill for parts and labor was $426.32. After months of the part allegedly being on back order the owner of the company owner indicated he would refund the $. I even indicated I would pay the $75 service visit. Now 4 months later and many repeated phone calls I still have not seen a refund. I spoke to the owner on many occasions and received assurances that I would get the refund plus many excuses. I called the maker of the wine fridge and also found out the part is readily available. Nine months later I still have a non-working appliance.
Description of Work: Did not complete service. Overcharged. Was not honest, ethical or professional.

.Company techs made several trips to our home. Supposedly to replace several parts, but we're not sure that this actually happened. Different techs came out at different times and we had to explain to each all that had happened previously. At one point the owner told us to call a different repair company and he would pay for it, however he declined to pay. We finished being some $550 out of pocket and still not having a working machine. I don't know anymore. I just know that this was one of the worst experiences that I have ever had with any repair service. DO NOT USE THESE CRETANS!!!!!!! Has anyone ever had a repair tech tell them that their 1 1/2 year old washer was a "dud machine"?
Description of Work: Supplier supposedly replaced various parts on the machine. However the washing machine never did work correctly. Last result had the tech telling me that the company owner refused to have any more work done on the machine. In addition the tech said that we had a "dud" machine.

Our refrigerator stopped working. My husband went through the basic steps of troubleshooting and had a small list of things he had already ruled out before the repairman arrived. One of my husbands concerns was the compressor, but when the tech arrived, he said no, there was nothing wrong with compressor. After guessing it was two other things, he then changed his mind and said it was the lack of freon and it needed to be filled. He filled the Freon (which took an unusually long time) and said to give it a few hours. About 2 hours after he left, I opened the fridge, fluid came pouring out from where the tech was working and filled three towels. There was the smell of Freon emanating from the fridge that was very strong. I called the main number and the man who answered, Tim, sounded very bothered that I was calling, like I had woken him. He told me someone would come the next day. I expressed concern about the leakage and smell; I didn't want to make the fridge worse than it was and wanted to know how I could stop it, as it was clearly an effect of something the technician just did. He claimed that there's was no way the fridge could be in any worse shape than it was and that I was ridiculous. I asked if he could have the owner contact me. The owner, Roy Green, called me a half hour later. His speech was very difficult to understand, mumbled as if he was drinking (I'm not saying he was drinking, but this is the only comparison I have to help you understand the challenging conversation). I tried to tell him what the problem was. He agreed that the leaking could have made the fridge worse and that Tim, the man I talked to earlier, was wrong to say it couldn't have done any damage. He then said he would do whatever he could to take care of the fridge and I wasn't to worry about cost. I was worried, however, because of the difficulty deciphering what he was saying and trying to get him to listen, that he wouldn't remember talking to me. They sent the same repairman who instilled the Freon back that night. He was unable to diagnose the problem. Two men came the next day and tried diagnosing the problem, but they could not figure out what was wrong either .They said they would be back to retrieve any remaining Freon, change a filter and solder something. They cancelled two days in a row, after delaying all weekend, because the parts they needed didn't come in. They then said that they could troubleshoot what they had initially planned, but that it was probably my compressor. This was alarming because my husband had asked about this to begin with and the 3 repairmen who had already visited didn't mention this to me. He then started talking about prices and I grew concerned because, Roy Green, the owner, said I wouldn't be charged for the repair gone wrong. Instead it sounded like I would pay for the labor that made my fridge worse and any future labor. The technician had the owner call me, again. I have NEVER been talked to as rudely, nasty or demeaning until I talked to Roy Green. He called me and started attacking me asking me what my problem was and that I have a lot of nerve having an opinion because I wasn't a repair man. He then started screaming, "what do you want?!!!, what do you want?!!!). I couldn't get a word in and once again, I could hardly understand him. The abusive tone and things he was saying to me brought me to tears out of frustration. He then said "he'd" be out to repair the fridge the following day. After the phone call, I was shocked and terrified of letting this company back into my home. My husband has called and asked for a refund. Roy Green is charging us for the service calls (although they made our situation worse) and claims he will be sending a check. I'm still in disbelief of the way I was treated. If I don't see a refund check, I will gladly follow up in small claims court. This was the most unprofessional, rude company I have ever come across. The phone conversations were abusive, demeaning and frustrating. I was tossed around a multitude of times trying to reach the owner who was the nastiest of all. Our fridge is in worse condition than it was. We lost money paying for a fraudulent repair and we will lose more money trying to repair what they ruined.

Rep wanted to charge $650 for replacing the convection oven fan and stating that the price was discounted from $850. I told him I would rather check out with other vendor. I was able to order the part for $200 (including S&H) and have other vendor, who is holding A+ rated from Angie's List. He is willing to do for $124.95. Just saved $325.
Description of Work: Just check the convection oven fan.

Not too good, 5 days later appliances are still not completely repaired, see story above. Hopefully come tomorrow, Thursday, we'll have positive reviews from the actual owner.
Description of Work: Washer was making loud noise during spin cycle on Sunday, managed to get two loads...died on the second one before the spin cycle was drained of water. So we called a number for a company my husband searched online under http://www.appliancerepairsanantonio.net/about.html @ 210) 588-0099. They were very nice and this was on a Sunday and they came by as they stated, between 1-4pm...closer to 4pm I believe. So this young guy rushes in, literally rushing, and checks it very quickly and states it's the pump on the washer that is out. My husband advised him to if he can check out the dryer, making a little noise while it tumbles, did that quickly too. Let me reiterate that we saw and called one company advertised online and some other company - Better Home Appliance Repair - showed up. The website stated same day, 24/7 repair. This tech advised that he'd to order parts Monday morning and to return to install Monday evening. He asked for $200 deposit and a difference of $99 due upon completion of job. He took our $200 dollar check, returned Monday evening with the parts. Here's begins the interesting part(s)...no pun intended. We emptied what we could of the water remaining in the washer tub, about an inch or two of water. He had the washer tipped over while he was behind it replace the pump. The washing machine slipped (tile floor) and slammed on the door frame molding and fell onto the floor spilling water all over the floor. BIG MESS. The top of the machine controls has a huge dent from hitting the door frame. He stated he would replace the top metal cover above control knobs tomorrow (Tuesday). He somewhat cleaned up his mess, moved on to the dryer. He removed the part - blower - to replace...but he had the wrong part. He'd bring that again along with the damaged part Tuesday. Tuesday came and no call from the tech so my husband had to call him to confirm when he would arrive (we work an hour south of San Antonio and he agreed a late appointment was alright). He stated parts did not come in and would not be able to replace them until Wednesday...today. My husband called the same tech Wednesday around 4pm to ask when he would be by this evening so we can leave with plenty of time and not keep him waiting. He stated he'd be here by 6 pm. 7:30pm came and went, so my husband called the tech, he answered and hung up. Perhaps by mistake or intentional. We called back and no answer, left a message to a voicemail with someone else's name. Called back the "original" company we thought we'd be dealing with, explained to the nice lady our problem and she said she'd get back with us after she contacted the tech. No response. We called back to same number we spoke with her and left a voicemail inquiring of repair status. An older gentleman called back, we presume is the owner of the Better Home Appliance Repair and was back and forth with my husband on who did what and who said what. After him stating to my husband that he was upset and his blood pressure was up, apparently having a few problems with tech. He stated too this happened to be his grandson, probably a family owned company. He didn't appreciate my husband nicely letting him know he has a tech that is creating a bad reputation of unprofessionalism for his company, but that was not our intention. As supervisors, we take comments as these and apply them as necessary in our departments to improve tasks. So, now we wait for the "owner" who will visit us tomorrow (Thursday) to hopefully COMPLETE our washer / dryer nightmare when it was advertised as same day, 24/7 repairs. We're still a little confused as to how we research one company, call their number and a completely different UNPROFESSIONAL tech shows up...running and speeding through everything. I guess they sub contract other companies...very misleading.

My GE Profile refrigerator (less than 2 years old) started making a loud buzzing sound and the freezer was no longer working. This company installed a new mother board for $700 which fixed the problem however several days later food in the refrigerator started freezing. I called for another appointment with this company however he did not show up or call during the scheduled time. After many calls and frustration he did come and told me I needed a different part that he did not have on hand. He "promised" that he would find the part and have it installed by noon the next day. That was last week and I have not heard from the company again.
Description of Work: Very unprofessional and unreliable, does not arrive when scheduled or return phone calls.
