We dropped our TV off for diagnostics. The repairman did not call us back and after 2 weeks I called him. He said that it needed a special electronics part and he was having trouble finding one. My husband gave him the phone number for Vizio which is the brand of TV it was. After not hearing from them for another few weeks I called. The repairman (who by the way is not easy to get a hold of, the response was always "call back after 4) said it would take 6 months to get the part. We called him yesterday to find out the status of this (8 months after the initial drop off) and his response was, very rudely, that he threw it out because he does not keep TVs more than 30 days!!! Clearly this man does not keep records of conversations with customers or of his progress with the appliance or he would have realized he "dropped the ball". He never called me to say "Hey I can't fix your TV please pick it up". Now I no longer have my $1200 TV, besides the $45 fee. This man is very unprofessional; you get a hint of that when you see his work space which was filled with TVs, haphazardly placed and we could barely navigate around them. In fact, we should have gone with our feelings and not left the TV. I recall my husband saying "I don't think we'll ever see that TV again" and I replied "don't worry".

The repairman kept the appointment, found the malfunctioning part and took the board to his shop. He tried to find a replacement part locally but had to order the part. This took five days, then he returned to reinstall the electronics board.
Description of Work: Service call to my home, take electronics board to his shop, and return to reinstall the repaired part.

BETA ELECTRONICS WAS FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL. THEY ASSESSED AND REPAIRED A TV FOR US. WE HAD NO IDEA IF IT WOULD BE ECONOMICAL TO HAVE IT FIXED OR BUY A NEW ONE AND THEY HELPED US DECIDE WHAT TO DO.
