BALLARD'S CONCRETE & ASPHALT

I contracted with Ballards to strip a parking lot on a commercial property. The work consisted of painting and stenciling red fire lanes and painting white lines for eight parking areas. The red fire lanes were not straight and looked like a first-grader did the work. When Bob came out to the property to inspect at my request, he said "it meets the City of Austin requirements even though it's not straight". He offered to take 10% off. I said I needed to think about it. About a week later I noticed that all the white paint on the parking spaces was peeling away. I call Bob's brother, Cecil, because Bob was not very professional at this point and was told that the concrete mix must of been wrong! What? That was total BS. The paint they used was wrong. As it turned out, when I met Cecil at the property to talk about it, things got heated and he along with Bob and two other workers rushed up to me with closed fists and threatened me. I had to call the police. To add insult to injury, upon measuring the dimensions of the parking spaces, it was discovered that all eight of them were different widths and not the required nine feet. So, addition to being almost being beat up, they can't even read a set of plans and a measuring tape. All I wanted was to have a professionally done paving job and ended up being threatened by two thugs. As it turns out, of course after this happened, I was told by numerous other property owners that these two characters are bad guys. Do yourself a favor and stay away from them.
