Description of Work: They removed & disposed of the old leaky metal roof on this place that is new to me and being replaced piece by piece, and they put on a gorgeous, extremely well-constructed, awesome looking and working standing seam metal roof. The crews arrived on time, worked really hard while they were here, & left at the very end of each long day. The overall supervisor was often here and always only a phone call away, and crew bosses and crew members were all very professional and seemed very experienced and good at their jobs. The price was high but in the middle of the five estimates I gathered before choosing them, although I chose based on reputation as well as price and thoroughness of the estimate. They had to redeck and in some places provide decking that was not there for whatever reason. I researched the materials they were proposing to use and found them to be top quality. The job for the house included a carport, storage area, and playhouse.

Jason and the laying of the tarp was excellent. However the office didn't call. I had to call them, requesting a date for the repair. The lady asked for Jason's estimate and I told her $285. She said she would call be back with a repair date. During the next two weeks, I called twice and received the same promise. So I called Jason who said he would be able to do the repairs in a few days and would call me like before. Jason is great! The work done on the 8th was a God-send, but the follow-up is non-existent.
Description of Work: Jason is great! The work done on the 8th was a God-send, but the follow-up is non-existent. The big wind storm had torn some shingles from my roof, but not enough to file an insurance claim. Their roofer, Jason, was the only one I could find to put a tarp over the damage before the heavy rains began that weekend. He said he would lay the tarp when he got break from his current job and called when he was on the way. He was a life saver. He gave me an estimate of $285, saying that it was small patch. He took a piece of one of the shingles that had fallen in the yard, gave me his card, saying that someone wt the office would be in touch with me.

We generally had a very good experience with the company, and our new roof turned out beautifully and has had many compliments from neighbors. We spoke with four Austin roofers before deciding on ASW, and chose ASW because it is a preferred vendor for Liberty Mutual insurance company and an Owens Corning preferred contractor, and its references were quite good. Other roofers we spoke with had salesmen who rushed us, made promises that sounded too good to be true, or treated us as if a roof on a modest 1961 house was a little half-day job and not very important to them. For us, it was very important, something we had been planning and saving for for years, and ASW was friendly, professional, and took our concerns seriously. We went with Owens Corning's Oakridge shingles, OC's basic 30-year dimensional shingle. Consumer Reports rated it the best among lower-priced composition shingles, and though the shadow line isn't as distinct and it has a lower wind rating than some pricier dimensional shingles, it looks quite good and performed better in Consumer Reports' tests. ASW is a family business that has been operating since the 1970s, so we knew they would be around if we had warranty issues. We did have an insurance claim, but we were going to replace our roof regardless and were planning to add some features, such as a ridge vent and to properly vent our exhaust fans through the roof. The only problem we had was with one salesman who deals with insurance customers. He did not want to do anything but replace our existing roof with a similar new roof, not deal with some of the upgrades we were planning, even though we were willing to pay out of pocket for them. After that we made sure to deal with one of the owners, who were much more flexible. The installers were extremely polite and neat. They cleaned up as they went, sweeping up debris on the roof frequently and putting it in a dump truck instead of allowing it to fall into the property. They were actually there for two days, and were very flexible when we had a carpenter on-site who was simultaneously making some unexpected repairs. They gave him time and space to work in one area while they worked in another, something we really appreciated. The crew chief, Jesus, had a lot of experience and did an excellent job, especially on valley flashing in an area that previously had water damage. The metal flashing was seamlessly covered in shingles, and the end result is beautiful. ASW relies on word of mouth and insurance customers to spread its good name, and we've been doing our part to recommend them to several friends and coworkers.
Description of Work: Replaced old 3-tab composite shingles with 30-year dimensional shingles, repaired and replaced several pieces of tongue-and-groove roof decking, installed ridge vent.

The cost was covered by insurance but I thought the price was competitive. This was my second time to use them and I was extremely satisfied with them. They did a very good job, they cleaned up, and all of the workmen were very competent. From the guy that did the estimate to the roofers to the guy that checked on it when it was done, everyone was very professional. It was very well done and I recommend them.
Description of Work: Austin Southwest Roofing took off my old roof and put a new one on my house because of hail damage.

These folks are very efficient. The materials crew arrived the day before work was to begin and placed the roofing materials on the roof. The day work began, they sent a lot of workers to remove the roofing and related items and then install the new roofing and vents. Afterward, all trash was collected and a magnetic sweep for nails was conducted and hauled off. All of this was done in one working day!
Description of Work: Replace entire roof(approx 2800 sq ft), including removal/replacement of existing black felt paper and 20 year 3 tab fiberglass shingles. Note, part of my house includes a two story portion. Remove/replace existing turban roof vents(3 ea) and 2 ea dryer/exhaust gas caps. Cleanup and removal of all trash and magnetic sweep for nails on the ground around the entire house.

I used them once before so I contacted them by e-mail and they responded within a day or two. After receiving check from insurance company, I contacted them to set up appointment. They they replied and scheduled a date to perform the work. We went to work in the morning they were scheduled to do the work. When we came home that afternoon the roof was complete and they cleaned up so well we would not have known they were even there.

Arrived on time and replaced the roof. Everyone was very nice and they did a great job. They damaged a gutter and insisted on paying to replace it. I would definitely use them again.

Perfect! They brought me samples, provided me with addresses of other homes that had recently been roofed so I could see the overall look of some particular colors, and were always available by phone to answer questions. They also coordinated the work so it could be done as soon as the contractor completed the addition to the house.
Description of Work: Roofed the entire house along with a new addition to the house.

They came out on time and the materials they used were of good quality. There hadnt been any problems with leaks or loose shingles. They cleaned up very well when they were done. They only took a couple days to do this job and the men were real courteous. I didn t want to say what it cost to do this job.
Description of Work: They removed the old shingles and replaced them with new ones on our 2000 square foot home.
