I ended up calling a diff a/c repair company who found the wire had been cut. after mending the wire on the unit it was all working fine.

The installation went great up to the point of installing the inlet filters. They wouldn't even have noticed that there weren't.any if we hadn't asked them what size to use. They were supposed to bring filter holders but they were the wrong size. They still have not returned with the right ones. I didn't get any paperwork ie. manuals or brochures for the system. They got their money though so I guess that we are not important to them anymore.

The party admitted that their unit was the cause of the damages but has as yet to be back in contact with me. The condensate damage is progressing causing more damage every day.

This was a big deal purchase. That's been a long time ago. The guy came out, recommended the service and never followed through. He never came back. They came out right away.

I had two houses for them to install new air conditioning, $4,200 each,. The old wiring needed to be changed and when I called them back, they wouldn't come back. I had to call them several times. Finally they came back and they did a lousy job. So I say I'd never go back with them. My tenants didn't even know they showed up; they said they were done. Lousy,lousy job. When they were on the job they showed up on time but I would never recommended them to anybody.

They showed up late and then told me they wouldn't do the deal. The deal said they would flush my water heater but I was told that it wasn't covered under the deal so they left.

It was complicated. They had a little problem along the way but they eventually corrected it and they gave me a discount in the end. There was an additional charge apart from the $49 big deal because we needed something done which cost $2800. The problem we had with them was; they scheduled the job to be done and they asked for a payment and then when I went to the real property, nothing was completed yet. So there was some confusion and mix up in scheduling between their office and their technician guys. So then they went back and did things pretty quickly so a guy came in and actually did the work but then he kind of left them back. So I called the owner and the owner sent another guy then they gave me a discount. Once they did the work, it was really good. The price was pretty standard, the same with everyone else. When they actually showed up, they showed up on time and did all the work but there was a confusion for them to come out. Once they figured there was an issue, they worked with me on that.

First there was the four hour time period which seemed a little long. Then after I agreed and waited no one came and no one called. I emailed. Second chance: I agreed if slotted as first or last of day. No more four hour waits. Tune up: opened air conditioner closet door and asked when the filter had been changed and reminded me to put bleach in traps. Said everything was fine and closed door. Outside: Said freon was fine but air conditioner was dirty--offered to clean it for $125.00. I declined. I know how to clean it, just hadn't gotten around to it and usually it gets cleaned as part of tune up which is why I know how easy it is to do. And that was it. Price: Sometimes you just get what you pay for but in this case, as cheap as it was, it was still overpriced. Nothing I couldn't do myself. I've had excellent tuneups in the past for bargain prices and this was a big disappointment. Not worth the time or the money.

The gentleman that they sent out was very polite and did a great job.

They were courteous and on time. They were thorough and walked me through what they were doing. Everything checked out okay, but they gave me advice on how to maintain my A/C system and answered all of our questions, i.e. how often to change our commercial grade filters.

The finer print on the deal reads: $49 for an air-conditioner tune-up and addition of up to two pounds of coolantValid for one system only; purchase additional deals for multiple systemsAir-conditioner cleaning and inspection includes checking outside condensing coil, interior compressor, and thermostat; ensuring that your system shuts down properly; preventing future issuesAddition of up to two pounds of coolant. The AC was running the whole time, no word on if the system shuts down properly. No component was cleaned. I believe the condensing coil and interior compressor were checked. The thermostat was not checked, no word on that component. To think the actual value of the service is $189 is concerning, perhaps that is the cost of refrigerant,which may or may not be used. I respect his professional opinion to not add coolant, however, in my experience of using other companies and paying full value for an ac/furnace inspection and tune up, technicians include turning off the power, rinsing out the outside unit and check components carefully, and check the thermostat. My experience is that technicians also summarize to the customer what they have completed, that would certainly eliminate any doubt that they were completing the services offered. All we talked about were price quotes for repair or replacement. One helpful thing he recommended was using vinegar instead of bleach to keep the drain clear . Technician was prompt and respectful. I would not purchase the deal again and I don't believe that I would look into investing future money on ac work or repairs with this company.

They didn’t fill any coolant, they only just inspected the unit. I wished they wouldn’t have put that in deal.

Update 08/25/2015: The vendor spent time to write response to my review, but never contacted me to get things resolved. Till now, 80 days after the service, I have not received report of tune-up service. ======================== I purchased Big Deal of AC tune-up and 2 lbs of Collant on 6/7/2015, to be used at my rental house which appeared to be low on coolant. I requested provider (Austin Refrigeration LLC) to schedule with tenant and call me to discuss any issues. 1. Their technician (Mike?) went to my rental house on 6/12 afternoon. He didn?t contact me before, during, or after the service. Instead, he talked a lot to my tenant. He told my tenant the AC unit is too old (17 years) and coil was too dirty. It needs to be replaced and cleaned. 2. It appeared Mike didn?t perform actually tune-up work. He just looked and talked, then left. 3. The worst thing happened right after Mike left. The AC stopped working, and the whole system stopped working. My tenant called me, so I called their office immediately. 4. Raven in their office answered my call. She replied my complaint with all possible excuses. She said my AC was not technically working when Mike arrived, because the temperature was 78. It should be set below 72. She said Mike ignored my request to call owner/landlord, because he called office/herself. She said Mike didn?t add any coolant because my AC didn?t need coolant? 5. Mike was reached right after I talked to Raven. He realized that he didn?t properly close the door panel of inside unit, which triggered a switch to cause the whole system to shut off. Mike called my tenant to reset the door panel to complete close position. The system went back running again. 6. Raven called me after the problem was fixed. She said the problem was caused by my tenant when she played with thermostat after the AC stopped working. 7. I talked to their general manager Joel next day. Joel agreed Mike should have talked to me (owner/landlord) instead of tenant. Joel agreed the system shut-off was caused by Mike?s mistake. 8. However, when I complained Mike didn?t add coolant which was needed and paid, Joel insisted my AC didn?t need more coolant because the pressure was acutally high. When I asked the pressure reading, Joel said high was 287 and low was 185. These numbers are ridiculous! 9. When I questioned if AC tune-up service should include some actual work like washing condenser with water hose, Joel told me that?s totally useless. Whoever told me that didn?t know basic AC maintenance. Ironically, his technician Mike told my tenant to do it. 10. I requested them to send me report of their tune-up service, including coolant pressure readings. I requested multiple times through phone calls and emails. Though every time they agreed to send me, I have not received it till now (8 days after service). I can?t trust this company any more, from technician, office representative, to general manager.

It went well, he was very nice and did a great job. Had to pay another $ 213.50 for the part and work done.

Technician tried to repair broken AC unit - beyond fixing. Friendly and knowledgeable sales guy came out and gave a great deal on replacement. Installation was the following day. Fast turn-around time.

Perfect. The rep was nice, on time, and explained everything.

Austin Refrigeration is awesome. Melvia, the office manager, worked with me and around my crazy work schedule when setting the appointment. Melvia is polite and so patient. Steve, the technician, arrived before my scheduled appointment. I didn't have to wait-although, I would have been fine with that. I know sometimes a job takes longer than expected. Steve knows his stuff. He reviewed the system to make sure it was running properly. He caught some minor problems and tweaked the system. He was finished with my service call and left within 30 minutes of arrival. I was a little apprehensive, thinking I might get an invoice, as Steve had to do some work on the new AC Unit. No invoice--everything was covered, as promised. This company stands by its warranty--no surprises, no hassle. I like that Austin AC called me to schedule a time to just check out the unit. I wouldn't have even thought of it--we just bought the unit and it seemed to be running fine. This company gets an A+ for the outstanding customer service.

Replaced a flame sensor that went out on my furnace, they were prompt the repair was accurate and I will use them for services again. Their technician seemed happy to help

Austin Refrigeration came out to my home, immediately after a hail storm and advised me that they could help me get a new AC system installed for FREE. That basically they could collect all the evidence and submit to my home owners insurance so that they could "obtain approval" to perform the work. All they asked is that if I was to get approval, that they would do the installation. I was a bit skeptical at first, but after battling with insurance company for over 3 months, they got an approval. I let them come out and install a new system, and signed the insurance check over to them. I had no idea what hail would do to my system, nor was I aware of the indoor being affected by the outdoor. I am glad they came by after the storm, I would have been clueless to this, and would have probably ended up with a broken system. Thanks for all the help, I recommend them for Storm restoration, and the install looks much more professional than before.

I have been using this company for years, they have always fixed issues I have had promptly. They renewed my plan the last time they were out. Called me a few days ago, announced to me that they were on Angie's List. I have not been a member before, but they told me it would help me find other reliable contractors and I trust them so, I joined and wanted to let everyone know about this company and their good service record with me

I called in and I was able to get someone to help me find the problem with my system over the phone, since they do my maintenance they were able to look back at my system info and notes. Explained what I could do to fix it. I was able to since it didn't involve any refrigerant, thank goodness. Have always helped me out, been a customer for years

I have had this company doing service at this address as well as a home I own in South Austin. I am happy with the service and the price. They always explain their findings in a way I can understand. I will continue to use them for service and I have recommended to many friends. They also Have done work for me on a wine cooler. All is well!

This was not the first time we have used this company. Long time customer and they have always done a good job to keep my old system up and going (Its 18 years old) I appreciate them maintaining it while right now I cannot afford replacement. I have and will continue to recommend,

This is a service I get done by Austin Refrigeration, often when they are in my area, doing an installation, they will give me a call. Since I am no longer in Austin but love and trust this company, I still continue to use them when they give me a call I do my best to make an appointment when they are in town, This was my last free tune up, next when I renew it is only 129. The owner took care of a previous house I owned when I lived in Austin. Always gave me reasonable rates and service within a decent time frame.
