AUSTIN REAL PROS

We rented a house where Austin Real Pros was the Property Manager. The day we got our keys they were "just too busy" to go over the contract with us. They gave us 4 keys to the house. Only one of them worked. When a wind storm blew our fence over it took them 2 months to fix it. There were countless emails and phone calls. Every time I would complain about the delay I would just get more questions. Miraculously, when I told them I was sending the issue to my real estate attorney they approved the fence repair the next day. When we moved in we made note of all of the holes in the walls and the spots where there were issues with the paint. They had not sent anyone in to fix these before we moved in. When we moved out we got charged $200 for someone to fix the holes in the walls and touch up paint. Their claim was that when we moved out there were nails and screws in the walls and we hadn't noted that on our move-in form. My obvious response was that despite their claim they were charging us to fix holes and touch up paint problems that existed before we moved in. Their response was that they believed the charge was "reasonable". When we moved out they also tried to charge me a late fee on my last month's rent. They have an online payment system through Paypal. You cannot pay through this system until the first of the month. Paypal takes a few days to process payments. I paid the same way every month without a problem. I even emailed them shortly after moving in to make sure that there wasn't an issue that Paypal would take a few days to process a payment. They said there was no issue as long as the payment was requested to be sent on the first of the month. Despite all of this, they believed they could get away with charging me a late fee. They said they are refunding that fee.
