See below! Best service I've ever received wrt a tech issue, thanks to Kegan Littlefield!!!
Description of Work: Kegan Littlefield unlocked a frozen iPhone in about a minute that I'd been struggling with for hours. I exhausted DIY, and spent an hour on Apple Support chat. It would have been another 24 hours before I could get an appointment at an Apple store. I'll never go anywhere else for issues with my Apple products. Kegan could not have been more helpful!!!!!

They were very knowledgeable and patiently explained things to me. They actually did a short diagnosis on the spot when I first took the computer in. They were fairly quick in getting the work done and they didn’t charge me for the diagnosis because I purchased a new computer.
Description of Work: I purchased a computer from Austin MacWorks.

My college student son's MacBook Pro had a hard drive malfunction as a result of upgrading the OS. There was immediate concern that all data was lost. The computer was total dead. Over a period of several days Robert at MacWorks was able to retrieve all data stored on the hard drive. It required multiple strategies to do so. Then Robert give us several options at various price points to get my son "back in business." We opted to replaced the old MacBook rather than risking a future problem. We purchased a new MacBook Pro from MacWorks (they are an Apple dealer) and also placed all of the data on a 2 TB external hard drive as back-up. Robert called virtually every day to update us on progress and he keep us totally informed.
Description of Work: Retrieved data from hard drive (a major ordeal), placed it on an external hard drive and sold me a new MacBook Pro to replaced the laptop. The fact that they were able to retrieve all of the lost data was a miracle.

I think that they know their stuff and they are not super salesman. And I've been going to them for quite a long time, so they are familiar with my needs. I just don't get the feeling that they are trying to up sell me. They help me figure out what I need for the price that I can pay. I can always call them and ask them, hey I need software that does this and there are people there that are so knowledgeable. They will get back to me and they want to know what I need. If a computer isn't working, I bring it in to them and I don't have to worry about them. I never worry about them having access to all my information on my computer. I completely trust them.
Description of Work: I have been using Austin MacWorks to buy computers and to fix computers that I have. The last time I bought a new laptop and ipad.

They were horrible. They virtually destroyed our machine. It cost us several thousand dollars. First we had to pay them $400 and they literally wiped the hard drive clean. We lost 3 years of files and they wiped the backup file clean too. They lost the software that we gave them that they were going to load on the machine. They accidentally wiped the hard drives clean so there was no way for us to get the data back. They said they were sorry and that it was a risk that happened. They should have backed it up on their own system. They were less than apologetic about it and said we could come and get our machine but we were going to have to pay them. They threatened us if we reported them. The price was fine; it was acceptable.

Response from Austin MacWorks
Hi Member, We checked our records and did not find any record of working on your computer. We have two locations on Mo-Pac at 2222 and downtown. You might have taken your computer to another un-authorized service provider that has a similar name as ours (Eg. Austin Mac Repair ). If your brought it to either of our locations (Austin Mac Works), please let me know which one so that I can follow up with our team to see what happened. Sincerely, Srini Tatineni
