1 design for the project was flawed in that it failed to adaquately support the entire slab. interior piers which were needed were not provided 2 the central part of the slab began to sag causing dammage to the interior and exterior of the house. slab movement caused cracking of the interior sheetrock walls, ceilings, buckling of the wood floor coverings, and exterior stonework cracking. 3 the floor was out of level by 6-7 inches causing doors to stick throughout the house. 4 the foundation continued to shift because the pier depth was only about half the depth needed to contact stable material to support the piers. pier depth was 5-10 feet short to stabilize the foundation. 5 Larry Holt, the owner of Austin House Levelling had improperly scoped the project. He would not stand by his warranty because he had not included what was needed for adaquate support. even though he designed the project, he wanted me to pay an additional $8000 to fix his mess 6 I filed suit against him, and his insurance company settled with me rather than go to trial. 7 an independant engineer I hired said the entire project scope would have to be abandoned, and Holt's work would have to be re-done properly by someone who knew how to do foundation stabilization correctly. That is sad because Holt had about 30 years of so-called experience in this business. I suspect that he has left a trail of unhappy customers.
