Cameron was very responsive to the initial call, came and bid the job to install coaxial and CAT6 cable. He seemed to know the business, made good suggestions. The price seemed good, I didn't check any references. Then the job date arrived. I told Cameron what kind of end result I wanted in the installation: wiring bundled together, use cable ties to neatly tie them together, mounted up and out of the way in the attic, etc.. I know how to wire, I have basically built the structure they were working in, and I wanted to have the work be close to my standard. Cameron showed up at 9:00 am, but left soon afterwards to go "get his guy". He returned with one individual around 11:00 am, and they started working. Around 3:00 in the afternoon an other individual showed up, Cameron left, and the remaining two proceeded to install cable. The job required the use of ladders. Cameron had none and from the Camry and other small vehicle the first day, no way to transport ladders. I have many ladders, which they used, but I started reflecting on the fact AHM had no professional vehicles and equipment. I had to stop one individual who clearly did not know anything about causing structural damage from drilling way too many holes. After the two quit work around 6:00 pm, I checked their work. The metal box in a closet all the cable runs were pulled from was badly mounted, the drywall could not have been installed without fixing the sloppy work. The cabling in the attic was run over and under ducting, was not bundled, and was not mounted up out of the way. A terrible job. They did not come from Angie's List, which has been very reliable. They came from CraigsList, but just in case someone finds them and looks for a review here, I owe it to write a review. The next day I went over the hit list I compiled with Cameron. A totally different employee showed up, and I could tell he knew very little about the work he was doing. I also cancelled additional wiring that was scheduled because I had no confidence it would be done in a professional manner. At the end of the day, the cabling had in small ways been improved, in others, I had to go back and pull cables out of the walls and redo the runs because they were so poorly done. One run was unsupported for over 30', one end wrapped around roof trusses like it was rope. Really bad, AND this was after Cameron had been in the attic doing the run.
