Johnnie met with us, explained the project in detail, gave a competitive estimate, directed us to a granite yard to pick what we wanted and was reliable and responsive. The project took longer than we thought but it was because we took a long time picking out the granite. Johnnie worked around our schedule and was flexible. He also had good ideas for design and good sources for sinks and faucets. After initial installation, he recommended that we replace one of the sections with a different piece of granite for coloring consistency and he covered the cost. We ended up using the extra granite to do the bathroom countertops. The one area he could improve on is being proactive in detail finishing, but when we pointed out details that needed touch-up, such as wall marks in the bathroom caused during installation, he addressed it.
Description of Work: Designed, fabricated and installed new granite countertops for kitchen and three bathrooms.

I contacted Johnnie originally by email and sent him a drawing of my countertops. He then responded and gave me some estimates (depending upon the level of granite I chose and all the other variables, i.e. undermount sink, removal of old countertops, etc.). I went to a granite yard he recommended and selected my granite. He then got back with me on firmer pricing and we made a date for him to come out and do a template (I chose to remove my own countertops rather than have him do it). He showed up promptly at the time we arranged and proceeded with the template. One week later his crew showed up to install. There was a little delay in the crew showing up that day and because of a unique situation I had, they ended up coming the second day as well (normally only takes one day, but they got a late start). Exactly one month transpired from the day I originally contacted Johnnie via email for some ballpark estimates and the day they brought the granite and started the install!
Description of Work: Johnnie and his crew installed granite countertops in my kitchen. There was a cut-out for my built-in range top which has brick on two sides and tile on the other as backsplashes. They undermounted a new sink & cut two holes for the faucets. They put the top on my island and wrap-around elevated bar and then a long cabinet with a screwy angle (not just an L-shaped). One seam on the screwy long cabinet and one seam on the wrap-around elevated bar that sits on a brick wall.

Unlike many big box stores or other local granite shops, Counter Measure walked us through the entire process including accompanying us to the granite yard so that our questions could be addressed on-site. Measuring for our large areas of countertop was done with the more labor intensive, but much higher accuracy, method of templating. Templating is done with a series of Luann strips glued together on top of the area the granite will sit. This process ensures that the inevitable variations due to wall curvature, undermount sink placement, or cabinet level are addressed before the granite is cut. The fabricators that Counter Measure employs are true artisans. Working off the templates they created a seamless countertop (others said impossible) that brought out the granite's beauty. Shop Around & Ask Questions - We did and in the end we could not find a single local company that could touch the personal, exceptional service, price, and quality that this company provided
