Robert came out promptly to deliver an estimate. He patiently explained the method that he and his crew would use to build the porch including the type of sand to be used, the way in which rebar would be drilled into the existing foundation and also used to form the new slab, approximately how long it would take, i.e. under a day, and how long it would take to cure afterwards. The first date was postponed due to another job that had gone long which turned out to be fortunate as it rained that day. On the second date, Robert showed up around 8:30am and his crew around 9am. While I thought this was a little late to get started, I turned out to be mistaken. His crew never stopped working and never slowed down. The crew worked liked a tightly synchronized unit. The sand was delivered around 9:30am. While several guys filled wheelbarrows and brought them to the back yard, others were forming the porch, making sure that it had the proper drop for drainage, while others were bringing the rebar to the back, etc.. By 12pm, all of the sand was in place, the forms completed, the rebar drilled into the foundation and installed in the forms. Like clockwork, the concrete truck showed up and the continuous process of loading the wheelbarrows, moving them to the back and dumping the concrete into the forms started. By 1pm, this part of the process was done and they started smoothing the concrete. While it started to harden, they took a short lunch break, but then as soon as the concrete was ready, they were back at it, finishing the smoothing, taking down the forms and cleaning everything up. They removed all of their materials and cleaned the driveway where the sand had been dumped earlier. They could not have been more polite and hardworking. My only misgiving was regarding the agreed to price. Robert had delivered the quote over the phone and I had understood him to say that the price quoted included staining the new as well as old porch surfaces. During the discussion over what the final price was, he said, no, the price was just for the concrete work, but that staining would be only $1 per square foot. Considering that his price was dramatically lower than any other quotes I got, I agreed. They plan on returning in a couple of weeks once the concrete is cured to finish the job. Overall, I am very satisfied with the work performed and the outcome of the job.
Description of Work: Added a 22ft x 11ft concrete extension to existing porch.
Robert gave me an estimate a couple weeks ago, for a single foundation pad, . I was impressed with his demeanor and knowledge When they came back to measure and set up for the pour, I added a second pad, On the morning of the afternoon pour we added a third small sidewalk job, and it was incorporated with no muss, no fuss.. The entire crew was courteous polite and professional. 'never was heard a discouraging wordand quot;. a civil engineer friend, experienced in commercial grade construction, stopped by and remarked that they were doing everything right and above the minimums required. Robert and his sons Ben and David are impressive. David speaks fluent Spanish, The crew is composed of long time employees. Robert has been pouring concrete for around 40 years and his sons will probably do the same. Together they make the whole process appear easy. that can only come from experience. They are all knowledgeable and very easy going. This is an outstanding family operation with long time employees that all work harmoniously together and provide an honest high quality and high value product..
Description of Work: Robert, Ben & David + crew added 3 concrete foundation pads that tied into my house. They were in and out in 1 day , They cleaned up before they left. They compensated very well for MY last minute changes and add - ons. I doubled the work that I had planned because of their performance. They relocated and capped sprinklers. They measured and set level lines, used a transit to set dead level on all four corners and side midpoints They brought and set forms, added a ramp, and smooth finished 3 concrete pads. Slab 3 was a 3D way curved ramp that came out exactly as needed. They had minimum impact on surrounding areas and during the pour.

During the job, they broke some irrigation lines. When I called, the gentleman came out that day, and repaired the pipe. The next week when I turned on the irrigation, there was a leak in a different place. I called again and he came back the next day and repaired that one. I was very pleased with the cleanliness of the job and especially the responsiveness of the company to the broken water lines. It seems that this is a common occurence with digging around, but I thought that the service to repair it was UNCOMMONLY excellent!

They were professional. courteous, and efficient. The quoted price was exactly the same as the price we paid upon job completion. I highly recommend Austin Concrete Construction to anyone wanting high quality work at a fair price, and I will use them again if I need additional concrete work. We love our new patio.
Description of Work: Bob and his crew tripled the size of our existing patio by pouring two additional sections. The original patio size was roughly 9 feet wide by 9 feet deep by 8 inches high. The new space is roughly 29 feet wide by 9 feet deep by 8 inches high. They poured the patio in less than one day and on the exact day and time scheduled.

Estimate matched the actual price paid. All work done as promised and on time. They dug up the grass where the concrete patio was poured which was my responsibility to haul away, but they got permission to put it into a vacant lot across the street and hauled it away for me. One month later, as committed, they came back and stained it. Robert, the owner, did everything with a handshake and delivered on his promise. No advance payment necessary. A neighbor recommended the company, I looked it up on Angie's list, did some on line comparison's and decided they were the company for my business.

It went great. After I had a quote and decided to do the work I called on Monday and they scheduled for Tuesday morning. Several guys showed up and got straight to work - no lollygagging. Once the concrete was poured they did their thing to smooth it out, and while I watched I kept thinking "should I point out it's rough over there" but before I said a word they were over there smoothing it out. In fact, they went way beyond what I was expecting as regards making the slab as smooth and neatly finished as possible - I was really impressed. I would use them again and recommend to a friend.

Robert called back soon, showed up on time, did an amazing job and was direct and honest at every step. When he poured our concrete foundation, his son and grandson helped and we were so impressed with both the work and the wonderful relationship and respect in his family. After building on the foundation, we've seen how perfect Robert's job was--exactly level and to the inch on every side. He even "polished' the surface of the concrete so that it could be our floor. It looks beautiful and his rates are reasonable. He gave us great advice and we would hire Robert again.
Description of Work: Robert came to look at our property to give an estimate on pouring a foundation for a 24 x 30 building, with two 9 x 10 extensions on the front. He gave us an estimate that was reasonable and showed up to do the work the next week as scheduled. He and his sons performed all the work themselves, polishing the concrete with a special machine. The site was clean and foundation was perfect when they were done.

Great experience, Robert was easy to contact and was on time for both estimating and doing the work. He is very knowledgeable and he is not pushy to sell you anything. We he came to our house to give an estimate, he was able to quote us a price in about 15 minutes. I called him that day and he was at work two business days later. His crew showed up about 20 minutes early and got right to work, they were friendly and had a lot of experience in concrete work. This job was completed the same day with the results I expected. I will use them again for any concrete work I need in the future.

I initially called Rob to get an estimate and since it was a fairly small job, he gave me a price over the phone based on what I described. Since I'm on the outer edge (Georgetown) of their service area, he said it would cost about $100 more but the price was so good I didn't mind paying it. I was a little skeptical about our very loose agreement--there was no formal bid and the details of the way the patio was to be constructed weren't written on paper, but since all the reviews I read were so good, I had confidence in the company. All went well--he was here when he said he would be, his crew was polite and worked hard After he got here early in the morning, we discussed the project and I decided to increase the size of the patio since the price was so reasonable. I'm very happy with the work and the price. I got much more than I expected for much less than other bids. I had originally wanted it stamped and stained, but decided I'd do some of that myself and use the money toward something else. Rob explained how I could cut designs myself and explained some things about acid staining vs concrete stain which helped me decide to use translucent stain and do it myself.
Description of Work: My existing patio was about 8' x 14W'. Rob and company added about 3' on both sides, tying into the foundation. They added about 17' to the length of the patio, tying into the existing patio, making the finished dimensions about 25 ft at the longest point and about 20 ft at the widest point The patio has a rounded shape, which I love. They didn't stamp or stain, but offered options to do so if I wanted it. They removed existing grass, soil, etc as necessary to do the work, and used strong rebar. Because of their great reviews and years of experience, I trusted Rob's judgement as far as surface prep and I feel the patio is well-built. Rob textured it to enhance the look of applied stain.

They did an excellent job. They were on time (actually early!) and completed the job in a timely manner. Gave us some great advice on a project we were going to have them do today, but now we're holding off due to their advice. I like that even though they didn't get paid as much today they were still willing to give us honest feedback. Will be working with them again soon!

Robert was awesome. He is the Zen master of concrete. As the saying goes "Don't judge a book by it's cover". Robert will not be dressed like all the other contractors that show up at your door but he is very knowledgable, down to earth and even did the finishing work himself. This guy was amazing to watch. He is hands on for every bit of the job. He will be back next month to pour another slab in our back yard.

I called on a Friday and Robert came on Monday and gave me an estimate. The next Tuesday, they were at my door at 8:15am - exactly when the said they would be. They were organized and clean and had everything scheduled. The dump truck showed up when they needed to dispose of the old concrete and the concrete truck came at the right time. They involved me in every decison that needed to be made and left the site clean. This has been the best contractor experience I have ever had for these reasons: contractor actually called me back!, quick turnaround from estimate to work performed, the owner was on site and involved/working the entire time, price exactly agreed to estimate and great crew. What more could you ask for?!

I did not use them. They were the second choice. He gave me the same bid as the other guy, so his price was right in line. Prior to that, I had contracted another fellow. A day or so after they started here, I went on Angie's List and found that there were 2 bad reports on them. I actually released them of this job because of the report on the website. That was when I decided to look at some other companies. I was very pleased with what Austin Concrete quoted. The guy seemed to be very knowledgeable and very professional. Unfortunately at the last minute I decided on the other company. I would consider getting a quote from them in the future.
Description of Work: Austin Concrete Construction came out and gave me a quote on pouring a concrete slab of almost 700 square feet. It was to be a 22 by 22 foot square patio with a 42 inch by 60 foot sidewalk attached to it that was to go around the house.

They did a fine job, cleaned up after themselves and we were very satisfied. A few days later, I went to turn on my irrigation system and discovered it was not working. I called Mr. Russo and his son came out the same day. He dug and dug until he found the spot where the stake had cut the water line and he repaired it. We could not check the repair right away because he used glue on the PVC piping. The day after that I checked the system again and found a new leak. I called David, the son, who came out later in the day and repaired it. He was extremely cooperative and took full responsibility without question. This is the kind of company you can feel confident in hiring!
