Robert was professional and punctual. You can tell he is an expert and knows all the details of any concrete or cement job. You can tell he has many years of experience. Quick and accurate and fair estimate. Good communication skills and would be a pleasant guy to have on the job. He was my #2 choice and #1 if another had not supplied an extremely low bid just to get the work at a potential loss.

if you need concrete work look no further! these guys were great!! got back to me ASAP after my initial inquiry through angie's list. david came out 2 days later and quoted me on the spot the cost for the job. i had a 6x10 slab that i needed extended to 11x11. he reinforced the addition with rebar (sp?) and topped off my existing slab so it all blends seamlessly. he even offered to take pics of the work before it was finished so when i sell my house the new buyers can see how structurally sound the new slab is. he showed up on time, finished within the time he quoted me and except for my new larger slab i couldn't even tell they had been there. and perhaps the most amazing thing: the price he initially quoted me was the price on the final invoice!!!! i also had a few other people come out and give me quotes and David's was the most reasonable by far. and the quote was in line with what some handymen had told me concrete was going for these days. i also have a pergola that i need a handyman to put together and one of the guys that came to look at the pergola recommended austin concrete for the slab work. i wouldn't call anyone else. these guys are dependable, good at their job and reasonable. thanks austin concrete!

Responsive from the very first call. Gave us the best quote, out of 5 other companies. Robert and his crew were very professional and easy to work with. Him and his crew were in and out in one day. They covered all details to make sure it was done right. You can tell they are true masters of their craft. We will definitely be calling them back when our next concrete project comes up.

To begin, I had drawn-up some pretty thoroughly precise and detailed concrete slab construction plans (which were also submitted with a Building Permit Application to Travis County - Transportation and Natural Resources and quot;TNRand quot; department). The express purpose being to give each quoting concrete contractor and quot;the same identical informationand quot; by which to estimate and bid the work. Robert, David and their crews were congenial, friendly and hard working. David and crew arrived each day at the time they said they would and finished each day with a completed step (forms, sub-grade fill, sand-bagging interior grade beams and inside exterior grade beams, installing vapor barrier (visquene) and pouring concrete/finishing slab, form tear-down and clean-up. They cleaned up the site each day before leaving. Due to Austin Concrete Construction being busy with other jobs, Robert hired the reinforcing steel fabricator to install the re-bar. They were the only disappointment, delivering re-bar ahead of schedule and arriving late on the install date causing the job to shut-down late. Due to ACC's busy schedule I had a week to install the plumbing and electrical rough-in prior to the vapor barrier and re-bar installation. With David and Crews help we covered up the last of the underfloor sanitary waste and vent piping so they could install the vapor barrier. On the day of the pour Robert, David and Crew stayed the whole day until the last square foot of slab had been finished. Many friends and neighbors have marveled at the wonderful finish of the floor. We will be adding a bedroom expansion to our house within a year and Robert and Austin Concrete Construction will be our 1st and only call for concrete work. DO's - Have an accurate topographical survey of the slab/building site to provide to the concrete contractor or have the contractor include the survey cost and accurate and quot;sightingand quot; the slab/building footprint on the property. DON'T's - Don't assume everything you may think is included in the price. Ask questions and have the contractor list, detail or specify what is and quot;Includedand quot; and what is and quot;Excludedand quot;. That way you and the Contractor are on even ground at the beginning with no unanswered questions.
Description of Work: Robert Russo & his son David were very professional with a very personable Country Gentleman manner. Robert was the 1st of 4 Concrete Contractors to respond to our request for quotes/estimates for our 1,500 s/f Shop/Garage slab. Robert's price was the closest to our original estimate & the final price was only $0.75/sf more than our original estimate & that was because the finished slab on the downgrade side was 7" higher above existing grade from my original (rough) layout/plan.

The work went great. They showed up early in the morning, and were finished by 4pm. They cleaned up the debris, and hauled it off, leaving nothing but a beautiful driveway.
Description of Work: After I had my home's foundation leveled, the driveway no longer met up evenly with the garage. There was about a 4" difference between the driveway, and the garage. The contractor cut away about 5' of the driveway, and then poured a new section.

We needed a large patio extension, when we called we received an estimate. We were told it would be a wait of a couple of weeks. Wait was over a month but well worth it, the date was set, the crew showed up, did the work and left the yard clean. The new extension is perfect and the price was as quoted.

After reading some great reviews, I called Austin Concrete Construction to estimate a driveway extension and sidewalks. I was told that they would be in my area and someone would be by the next day. I worked from home that day but no one arrived. I called them back and left a message saying I would be leaving my home by a certain time and could they please give me a call back to tell me if they were going to come by or to reschedule. No call back. I called a second time and left a message that I was still interested and I have not received a call. For first impressions, ACC did not measure up to expectations. I may try again only because they have received the most reviews and majority positive.

They did an excellent job. It is absolutely fantastic. We were very pleased and impressed with the speed and the quality and outcome. It couldn't have been better. The people who came to put the gazebo asked who did it and said they did a fantastic job. They were thorough. They did exactly what they promised. The quality of the work is A+. We are on a hillside so they had to build a diagonal for a large gazebo that was to be installed on top of it. They were extremely fast and extremely competent. It was a very good price. Our contractor said he was going to use them for his work.

Project went very well. Robert came to the house, we discussed the project, he gave me a price and we shook hands right there. The work was secheduled and done about 9 days from the date of the esttimate. Experienced crew and Robert worked efficiently, diligently, and stayed until the job wa finished, late in the evening. Excellent craftsmanship and professionalism. We are very pleased with the appearance. .
Description of Work: Robert Russo & his sons constructed a 12 by 20 feet addition to our driveway between the current drive and the home. They also removed an adjacant cracked concrete piece about 2 by 15 feet with 2 jack hammers as well as a ledge/lip at the driveway edge. The surface had to match the existing driveway surface, a pebbled look. The ground had to be leveled and sloped first and an emergency drain line from the home extended approximately 20 ft in the concrete. About 6 yards of concrete was used. The work was done in one day with between 3 and 5 workers including Robert.

The work was done earlier than the original estimate and the whole crew were very nice and did a good job of cleanup after the sidewalk was poured.
Description of Work: We think the quote was a fair price. Robert and David were very personable and were right on time and were available earlier than estimated. We were dealing with a tree root that raised our sidewalk and they came up with a creative way of avoiding and preserving the root and pouring the new concrete to preserve the tree. Would use them again for any concrete work.

PROS: Started out well, Robert is very personable, him and his crew showed up as scheduled and completed when expected. Entire crew was nice and personable. CONS: Patio was not smoothed as it should be, many rough spots as well as a permanent drink can bottom impression where they left a coke can or something sitting on the wet concrete. Concrete was splashed up all over the siding of the house as well as doors, concrete hand prints on the siding and windows, chunks of concrete were also left all over the driveway. On top of all that they walked off with one of my shovels which I had stored close by. I plan on staining the concrete after it's cured however not sure how it will turn out as there areas where there are brush marks, smooth areas and areas of different shades of gray where different trowels were used by different people with different patterns.
Description of Work: Was hired to pour a 17x15 concrete patio slab.

Robert was quick to return my call and schedule an mutually convenient time to examine the project. His proposal clearly addressed the problem and proposed a solution. His bid was favorable and we agreed to have the work done. Refreshing to me was the fact that we set up the project with a handshake and a firm verbal agreement from verbal parties. How wonderful and cool that? There was no need for a complicated and detailed filled contract. The work was completed on schedule and totally to our satisfaction. I would use Robert again in a heartbeat. However, his cleaning up after the job was disappointing. Once he was done I spent 3+ hours washing the rest of the driveway and dealing with the residual concrete and sand on my property. Yes, I would use Robert again in a heart beat but I would have a clear agreement about how he planned to deal with run-off, extra materials and residual construction materials. This is the only disappointing part of the project.
Description of Work: We had two sections of driveway that had settled and cracked. The result was a large step up to the entryway to the house and a "ridge" connecting the drive to the garage entry. They needed to be removed and replaced.

I called Austin Concrete because I wanted good work and I needed it quickly. I changed insurance companies and the new company insisted I repair the walk between the driveway and the front porch within 30 days. To make matters worse they recommended someone for the job who was a no-show 3 times eating up the first two weeks. I really wanted to replace it rather than repair it, but I was having trouble finding someone to do the work. So by the time I found Austin Concrete on Angie's list and called to explain my situation, I was in a bind. Robert, the owner, came over a weekend so I could get his bid right away. He came when he said he would and he was very knowledgable. In addition, he committed on the spot to rework his schedule and do the job in less than 2 weeks so I could meet my insurance deadline. Best of all, his price was so reasonable that I asked him to give me a bid on a longer walk that I had on my bucket list. I'd envisioned a concrete walk from other side of the driveway along the most of the side of my house to the backyard gate. For years it had been a rock walkway and now it was overgrown with grass. To save me some $ and enable him to do both jobs at the same time, he offered to let me hire someone to dig it out down 4and quot; and he would do the job on the longer walk at the same time. Again the price was very reasonable. I hired him on the spot. When Austin Concrete Construction arrived to do the work it was with a highly efficient crew of 7: the owner, his two sons, and a crew of long-term employees. They were punctual, professional, courteous, and experts in their specialties. I'd had walkways done previously, but these were done professionally down to the smallest detail. I was very pleased with the result. My property is slightly sloped, but the walks looks perfectly level. Yet the slight slope of the walkways allows them to drain with the precision of a commercial job. Every time I look outside at my new walkways, I smile. I know they are secure and I will enjoy them again and again for years to come. Thank you, Robert and company. You do great work! I already plan to hire you again for another job. :)
Description of Work: Job 1: Break up a cracked and sinking front walk that connected the right side of the driveway with the porch and front door. Replace it with a new concrete walk tied into the foundation and level with the driveway and porch. greater than $975 Job 2: Pour a new longer concrete walk from left side of the driveway along the most of the side of the house to the backyard gate. greater than $975

ACC bid the job and finished as advertised. They arrived Monday AM as promised and 3 guys framed the slab, back-filled, trenched and tied the steel in less than a day. They returned Wednesday and poured the concrete by wheelbarrowing it from the driveway to the location without spilling a drop! They finished the surface, took down the forms and left by 2 PM. Great job! I highly recommend them!.

Overall, Robert and his crew did a very good job with our driveway expansion. Although they cleaned up all of the debris from the work area, we noticed a week later that they had dumped a pile of debris and rocks in our backyard. I notified Robert about it and he said that he would come back to clean it up but never showed up. My husband ended up cleaning up the pile of debris and rocks because it was starting to kill the grass.

Robert came by soon after I sent in a request for a quote. He explained the issues surrounding staining a concrete slab that has been raw since it was built (around 2007-2008). Ideally the concrete should be poured with the expectation that it will be stained soon after and care is taken is laying the concrete to make sure the stain will and quot;takeand quot; the way it should. And, rugs, potted plants etc. that had been sitting there for a while would also have an effect on the result. The deck is about 500 sq ft. I agreed to go ahead and Robert thought they could fit me in the following week. Robert and his son showed up at 8:30 am as he said they would. They got right to work and were done shortly before 12:00 pm. The result was what Robert thought it would be with some areas taking the stain differently than others, but overall it looked much better than a raw slab. It looked even better the next day as it looked move even than when it was first applied.

Robert came out to the house to evaluate the site and give a quote. I was shocked at how low it was. I had been quoted a price almost 3 times as much by another company, and that didn't even include the driveway expansion that I did. His crew showed up early in the morning and worked endlessly from 8am to 4pm. They placed all forms, added rebar, poured and finished the concrete before taking a break for lunch at 4pm. And the rounded edge of the patio is pretty much perfect. Everyone who sees it is amazed. They showed up in the morning and left with concrete completely finished, forms removed. It was very impressive, and I would not hesitate to use them again.
Description of Work: Expanded Patio by approximately 400 sq. feet. Added rounded end to patio. Expanded driveway by approximately 200 sq feet.
