I found this company through Morgan's Deal. They list they are licensed and insured. They are not. Also, name changes constant- AOS, ANS Air Ducts and Austin City Air Ducts are a few alias's. ANS is who I thought I was hiring- Erik and Mario came out. Erik stated that he saw major problems in my unit. Black mold. Extremely hazardous. Told me do not use my system until I had it cleaned. Now, keep in mind, we aren't even slightly sick. Also, I talked to a AC friend who stated that there are only 3 people licensed in the State of Texas that can test and make sure which black mold it is. There is only 1 that is hazardous. Erik stated that he tested the mold in his vehicle and that it was extremely dangerous. I asked to see his license and he became very uncomfortable and frustrated. They did not vaccume more than 3-4 ft into the duct. Did not touch the return as the ad stated they would and tried to "bully and scare me" into buying upwards of $1200 more work to keep my family safe or we could just continue letting our baby breathe this deadly mold.
Description of Work: Vaccume air ducts.

See above comments. This company is using a cheap air duct cleaning service to try and upsell many needless products . Do not use unless you want to throw away your money.
Description of Work: I called this company for a simple air duct cleaing on a house that was built in 2007. I had a whole house coupon for $55.00 . They performed this service for the agreed upon fee. However, TRIED very hard to upsell $1,092 dollars worth of additional unwaranted services. I am in construction and know that these items were not necessary. They wanted to treat , mold controll $637 , Disifection/Sanitation for $247, Air Mold Return Cleanup $208 . All of this is just a scam and this company should be avoided at all costs. I will never use them again.

Cleaned the ducts about a 1-2 feet in (not "all the way to the furnace" as advertised), left huge piles of paint chips and dust bunnies under most vents. They inspected the vents in the attic & found some mold in the main furnace & vents, tried to sell $1000 in cleaners plus a $900 UV light (that sells for $200 on Amazon) and then were pushy about "making the sell" when I said that I wanted to research it some more, then tried to sell me a severely overpriced filter on the way out. Price for service was as advertised. Got what I paid for, almost was taken to the cleaners.

Arrived 1.5 hours late. Came in and banged up walls with large machine. Cleaned the ducts about a 1-2 feet in (not "all the way to the furnace" as advertised), left huge piles of paint chips and dust bunnies under most vents. Price was as advertised. Got what I paid for, almost was taken to the cleaners.

I was not careful. I did not check them out. It did not go well. Two minutes on the internet would have revealed; 1. all of the reviews of Austin City Air Ducts on Angie?s list are negative. 2. all of the reviews of Austin City Air Ducts on Austin Citysearch are negative. 3. AC Air Ducts has an F rating from the Better Business Bureau. They claimed to install a Germicidal UV cleanser but they did not. They claim I misunderstood the workman who must have told me the one he had was broken and he would return at a later date to install a new one. The workman clearly told me the job was done and said he would come back later to inspect the UV device for proper functioning. He later admitted he did not tell me that he did not install the UV device because he thought if he told me, then I may have cancelled the job and he would have lost the sale. I am currently trying to resolve what I owe them. I am willing to pay for what they actually did.
Description of Work: Air duct cleaning; mold treatment; electrostatic permanent air filters; Germicidal UV cleanser.

A horrible experience. They didn't put covering down around the fireplace and hearth. When they tried to clean our white limestone fireplace it just smeared everywhere. The carpets had to be professionally cleaned as well as the surrounding wall. As if that weren't enough, the chimney wasn't cleaned well, when looking up with a flashlight one could see still see residue caked on the sides of the chimney. Before they could do more damage I asked them to leave. The poor guy supposed to be in charge had the audacity to ask for payment. I just laughed and insisted that he leave. Before he left I asked him how many chimneys he had cleaned. He said it was his first!
Description of Work: Cleaned, (or attempted to clean) chimney.

I hired these folks based on an ad that offered a "Whole house package" vent cleaning for $88. It also included my choice of one free service. One of the freebies offered was "Dryer vent cleaning". This is what I really needed as I knew the dryer vent was dirty. The three man crew showed up on time. They cleaned all the furnace vents. The said the furnace and blower were dirty but that was not covered under vent cleaning . They wanted $175-$350 !! extra if they were to clean the furnace. I declined. I told them I did want my free "dryer vent cleaning". All they cleaned was the part where the dryer hooks to the exhaust hose. They told me the vent that goes out the roof was dirty and a fire hazard but their free "dryer vent cleaning" did not cover the rest of the vent since it exited through the roof of my one-story house. If I wanted them to clean the entire vent it was an extra $119 !!! Then they tried to sell me some of their over priced furnace filters. I declined. If "dryer vent cleaning" doesn't include the entire vent, what good is it? I can disconect a hose from a dryer and pick out the lint myself. What I needed was them to clean the ENTIRE vent, not just the easy part. Avoid these guys.
