In our search for someone who has a strong understanding of design, I really lucked out when I found Sharon. I had already worked with a couple of designers for window treatments, and, was disappointed in how long it took them to get back with us on their ideas, prices, and fabric selections. This was not the case with Sharon. She is prompt, courteous, professional, very fair in pricing, and, most importantly, has a great sense of style. From her initial consultation visit, I could tell she had a strong sense of assessment. She listened to everything I had to say, what was needed, what I was unsure of for our windows. She was able to present suggestions and solutions that the other designers fell far short. Her ability to assess, design, and take the time to find the perfect fabric turned our home into a masterpiece. Sharon is top notch and above the rest. I highly recommend her if you need to depend and rely on someone with true professional, quality skills. I am an artist and Sharon truly made our home a work of art to complement all we had done.

Everything was done promptly and to our satisfaction. Sharon steered us to good choices. One blind did not hang straight and was promptly replaced with no problems. Installers were careful and cleaned up after working. Sharon arranged for and supervised the installers.

The owner, Sharon Schmidt came to my house and provided me with free estimates on the window treatments. Her estimates were comparable with another company that I have priorly called so I hired her. She helped me picked the materials, color and style that matched my furniture. Although we spent several hours in trying to choose the materials and color, Sharon displayed a lot of patience and was very helpful and made sure that I was happy with my selection. After we made the selection, she then provided me with a promised delivery date of 8 weeks from the date of my order. A week before the promised delivery date, she called to inform me that the window treatments were ready to be installed. She then provided me with the date and time she was coming to install them. She and her installer came on the promised delivery date and they were right on time. She noticed a minor problem with the finished swag in the dining room, so she took it back to the shop. The problem was corrected and was finally installed after two weeks. The drapes and the matching cellular shades are very beautiful and I love them! Sharon was very professional, friendly, courteous and helpful. She definitely knows her business. She even came to take pictures of the finished products. I am very happy with my window treatments.

Owner came out, to show samples. Called later for estimate. Work was done when promised at estimated price. Very professional. Quality work.

We contacted the company and got a quote for plantation shutters. We repeatedly asked the them to recheck their numbers since the price did not sound correct. She insisted that she has done this many a times and they price was rechecked for any inaccuracy. Before we signed a contract we asked for a break down of the prices, to make sure there were no errors. She refused to give a price breakdown and insisted she has checked and rechecked the number and everything was accurate. Unfortunately more than two weeks later, she informed us that she made an error and asked us to resign a contracted with a 15% increase in the price. The whole thing made us uncomfortable and asked her to cancel the contract and give us a refund of the deposit. She sent us a refund check within a week and the contract was canceled. I am not sure whether she was trying to pull a fast one on us. But as far as I am concerned she is incompetent. Per owners response there are couple of descrepensies: 1. When she first gave us the quote we did repeatedly call and ask her to give a break down. This was because the price she quoted was too good to be true. Her answer to that was she has been doing this for a long time and she knows what she is doing. 2. She only adjusted the price after we signed the contract. 3. Not sure whether the she came back with a price that severely reduced her profits or not, but we decided to go with Souther Shutters because we felt she was incompetent. She should have looked through her numbers at least out of courtesy after all the requests we made to her about rechecking her numbers and giving a breakdown. 4. Looking back I think she most probably made a honest mistake, but she could have avoided the whole thing if she took the time to go through her numbers after we asked her multiple times.

Sharon returned my initial call promptly and was available to come measure my windows within a couple of days. She was very professional and offered her suggestions when asked. She placed our order promptly and the order arrived when she said it would. The installer called to set up an appointment to install the shades. He was courteous and professional and did the job quickly.

WOW, Sharon is very good. She is EXTREMELY efficient. She knows her stuff, doesn't waste your time, knows what will look good and what won't, has pictures of her work. ETC. Don't do window treatments yourself. CALL SHARON. She gets paid on commission by the window treatment companies, so why would you venture out on your own vs. working with somebody like Sharon who does this for a living? Why? Her bids were very competitive. She's extraordinarily particular. She makes sure the right installer comes out to install; she follows up; etc. etc. She wants the job done right as she knows her reputation is on the line. You will NOT be disappointed. I'm glad I called. Saw the good review on Angie's List and am glad I followed it. I'm highly neurotic about stuff. So this is a good sign when I say "wow, she's good!!!"

I was impressed with the quality of Sharon's blinds and draperies. She was very professional, and her team of installers were exacting and pleasant. Sharon was very helpful from the beginning, and her prices very reasonable when compared to others. She had the roman blinds made to my specifications and had the exact material I wanted in her sample swatches. If you want beautiful, quality window treatments and a professional team, you can't beat Austins Draperies Unlimited. I had other companies come for estimates and was either not impressed with their products, or their representatives. Austin's Draperies Unlimited was right on. You won't be disappointed.
