Artworks Gallery

I moved a lot the last 10 years of my life and had a number of items that spent lots of time in garages, basements or storage. One of those items was a painting that my family had had for 40 years. I was thrilled to unwrap it from the box but so saddened to see all the black spots all over the canvas. I searched online for "art restoration" and didn't find much in Austin. Artworks seemed to be the only deal in town. I took the painting in (which was probably a 20" x 15") and was hoping they could find a solution. Rene was super attentive the moment I walked in. He quickly assessed the situation and gave me the diagnosis: mold. My spirits were dampened but he quickly added that it's not that hard to take care of. He said he could employ 2 different techniques depending how much the mold was hanging in there but he wouldn't be able to tell until he started the cleaning process. Nevertheless, he felt the faster and cheaper method would work. He said he's need to do a deeper assessment and would let me know. Rene called me back later the afternoon, very confident Plan A (the cheaper one) would work. He needed about a week to finish all the work. Within a week, I received another friendly call and picked up my artwork. It looked great. I was so pleased.
