They were very good workers! I can't complain about the service they provided at all. I was impressed as they cleaned up after themselves and they finished quickly. I would definitely use this company again if I had any problems with the plumbing. I don t really remember how much the price was for this but I do know it was very reasonable.
Description of Work: They fixed my clogged drain in my bathtub and bathroom sink.

I had accidentally run over a water line outside my house in which they fixed. After they turned the water back on, it had blown something in the line which plugged a sink in the house. They fixed everything in a fairly timely manner but I thought they were pretty expensive so I won't be using them again.
Description of Work: ARS fixed a water line outside my house. They also had to fix a plugged up bathroom faucet inside my house.

They were everything we expected them to be. When they came we signed a contract with them. We have also used them for plumbing and they were great doing that. We are very happy with them. I have not had anything go wrong since we have used them. They are good at what they do and if they don't find anything wrong with the unit, they don't try to make something up. They are very honest about the work they do.
Description of Work: I have a contract with them and they do the annual maintenance on my 4 ton air conditioner unit.

While they were doing the work they broke two of my sprinkler heads and they gave me the money to replace them. They also tore up my yard big time. I knew they were going to mess it up some but it was way more that what I expected. I will not use them again because of that. The job that they did is fine but there were just much bigger problems that I expected. I am not happy that my yard is torn up.
Description of Work: They connected the sewer line from my house to the street.

My air conditioning decided to go out on a Saturday morning but I was promised a service call. When the technician got to my home about 3:00 p.m., he was very thorough in checking the whole system. The inside unit and the outside unit were making a lot of noise. I was concerned the outside unit might catch fire, because it sounded so horrible. He explained everything to me as he was checking and finding the problem. He showed me the burnt thing called a contactor and told me the cost. My unit is a Reem Heat Pump and is ten years old. He explained why it is on its last leg. He made recommendations of what I should do in the future which was to have him come out again in the fall and make a further assessment. He told me that the coil which is in the unit inside will eventually have to be replaced. He also told me what to expect financially. I also was very appreciative that the service call for a last minute Saturday was only $59.95.
Description of Work: The technician found a badly burnt up contactor. Replaced contactor and by-passed bad time delay module.

After figuring out that our new fixtures would not install over the old plumbing we called in ARS to change it all out. They came over within a couple of hours of our first call and were done that afternoon. Then that evening we called about something else and they came right back but no work was necessary so there was no charge.
Description of Work: Installed new tub/shower fixtures in two bathrooms with minor demolition to walls to get to plumbing.

I called at around 8am and was told someone would be along 'a couple of hours after 9am'. He didn't arrive until 1.30pm (not to mention having called my husband's work number rather than my specified cell number). The plumber was friendly and seems to have to have done the work well, but the amount of time I had to wait and the cost for a half hour job with a small new part makes me think I won't be calling ARS for anything else.
Description of Work: Replaced inlet valve on water heater.

Called 45 minutes before due. We had a leak on the indoor unit to the point that our carpet was damp. We also had a beat-up outdoor unit. He blew out the indoor unit and checked the temperatures on everything indoor and out. He let me know that the outdoor was 80% cosmetic hail damage. Add bleach more often and make sure there isn't any outdoor blockage. Also, he told me about their Home Service Plan which I plan on signing up for and suggested I add new screens so we do not have to have the A/C so low at night to compensate for the day's heat. Which could lead to the unit freezing.
Description of Work: He performed spring maintenance.

Upon calling in for service at 4:00, they called back and said a technician could be at our home by 6:00. He arrived on time, found a bad part with one of our units and was able to fix it on the spot. Also checked our other unit and temperatures in all rooms of the house to ensure everything was cooling properly.
Description of Work: Around 4:00 in the afternoon, I called in to them to request help with an AC unit that wasn't blowing cold air. We had turned it on for the first time this year. I wasn't expecting someone to be able to come out that day, but they were able to have someone out within a few hours and didn't charge an "after hour" fee.

Perfect, except that a hot water heater was taken away. It was returned, but without the spigot.
Description of Work: Leaks fixed in three toilets. Two hose faucets fixed. One kitchen faucet replaced. One bathroom faucet replaced.

When I called for the appointment, the secretary was very nice. The service man completely robbed me. The cost was more than double what I paid to another company for the same problem I had a year ago; when I told the serviceman that, he said, "Well, I can't do anything about that." He was efficient, but again, I feel robbed. I will never use this company again. Oh, before he left and I paid the bill, he knocked off 10% since I told him how much the same service had cost last year. Even with a $20.00 discount, I was still robbed. Only then, as he was leaving, did he even begin to act civil. I am furious that as a single woman I was taken advantage of in such a manner. He was here for approximately 15 minutes to replace a less than $10.00 part, and I paid over $200.00.

I called mid-morning on a Monday to set an appointment for the plumber at an elderly mother's house. They were to call me 45 minutes before the serviceman would get to the house so I could drive from Smithville to Austin to meet him. By 2:30, there was still no call, so I rescheduled for first thing in the morning and was told plumber could be there as early as 8 a.m. At 9:30, they called and was told he was finishing up another job and would be there soon. At 11: 30 was told he was still at the job and there was no way for them to give me an arrival time. He didn't arrive until 1:30. Ever since ARS was sold to a national company, their service and arrival times have gotten worse. They no longer offer the ''on-time'' guarantee, and the phone reps are efficient but basically tell you nothing. I don't believe I'll be using them anymore. They used to be good but not since buy out.
Description of Work: The problem (slab leak) spontaneously resolved, an occurrence that the plumber assured me is not uncommon. I was told we'd have to wait for it to start leaking again, so the pinpoint leak position could be detected. He seemed competent and honest.

They quoted us a window of 2-4pm the following day. We didn't get a call until 5:30 saying that they would arrive in about 30 minutes. We couldn't wait and decided to go elsewhere. They didn't mention their on time guarantee or how to get reimbursed for our inconvenience.

I found a description of a similar failure at ''Fixitnow.com'' with a suggestion to check all motor wiring harness connectors and if good, replace the ''motor start capacitor'' (a $20 part). The repair took less than 30 minutes. While I can't prove it, the first diagnosis was probably wrong as the same failure recurred. Replacing the control board was probably unnecessary. The second diagnosis was wrong as I fixed the failure without replacing the valve. Mis-diagnosing speaks to the technician's competence and knowledge. However, in performing this repair I found what I would describe as ''significant parts overcharging''. The control board, for which I was charged $252.82, lists for $117 plus tax at First Source Parts (which is where the technician probably got the part as the box had First Source Parts printed on it). The ''two way valve'', that ARS quoted at $199 plus tax, lists for $79.70 with tax at First Source Parts. 100% and 150% parts markup seems to be excessive.
Description of Work: Whirlpool Washer model GSX9885JQ0 would not spin and would not drain. The first technician removed the cabinet, several wiring connectors, probed with his multi-meter and pronounced the problem as a ''bad control board''. Replacement of the control board cost $317.72 (64.90 for diagnosing the problem and 252.82 for a new control board - according to the technician, installation was included, as it was done as a result of his diagnosis). Two days later the washer failed in exactly the same way. As I was out of town, my wife chose to wait for me to return home before calling ARS again. Upon arrival, the second technician muttered under his breath that he hated this model of Whirlpool washer, removed the cabinet, reached under the tub and pronounced that every time he had seen this problem it was the ''two way valve'' and it would cost $199 plus tax to replace it but there would be no charge for diagnosis as this was a follow-up call. I chose to NOT have ARS do any further repairs.

ARS was great. The repair person came exactly at the appointed time, checked it out and determined that not only did we need the connectors but he suggested changing from copper to plastic pipe. Although he didn't have the parts with him then, he returned the next morning after having gone to the plumbing supply that's clear across town. He also took the time to leave us with the use of both the hot and cold water for the kitchen sink. The repair was done quickly and right the first time.
Description of Work: The connections to the undersink water filter needed to be replaced.

ARS was very responsive to my plumbing emergency, sending someone that very day! The plumber was very careful, honest, and thorough. When he accidentally clogged my faucet and couldn't unclog it, he replaced the entire faucet free of charge. He spent 4 hours doing the job. I liked that it was a flat-rate cost by the job and not by the hour. ARS will install fixtures you buy yourself or buy theirs at a competitive price.
Description of Work: Replaced all under-sink PVC pipes, installed new waste disposal, and sink faucet.

I came home from work at 3:30 pm and the house was hot. The a/c unit in the attic was not even coming on. ARS came within an hour and fixed a broken wire connector and it was working again. It was over 100 degrees, and I was so impressed that the worker found the problem and fixed it within 20 minutes. It was amazing and was covered by my warranty.

On time, polite, described repair needed & cost. We decided not to repair, to replace instead. He gave advice how to manage with ''crippled'' washer until new one was in place. Estimate provided was for part AND labor, unable to quote each separately. Telephone receptionist was VERY incompetent, so Professionalism score is lower. Repairman was excellent.

The plumber was professional, clean, on time, friendly, and polite.
Description of Work: Installation of a new faucet in the kitchen. ARS came to fix a leak, and informed us we needed a new faucet. They told us that they could provide the part and install it, but that we would save over 50% by purchasing it ourselves at Home Depot and then having ARS install it. This was MUCH apreciated!

When he quoted me the price, he looked it up in his book. They have a book that has all the prices in there. I made the appointment online so I was supposedly getting 10% off, but I think they just adjusted the price accordingly. I thought it was expensive for the work that was done, but they did have a person out in less than an hour from when I called. He did some digging that evening but had to come back the next day. He used 2 metal rods that were supposed to point to the leak, but they did not work very well.
Description of Work: I had a water leak in my yard. They had to dig up the yard to pinpoint the leak and then fix it.

I scheduled the appointment in advance, and they said they would arrive between 9AM and 11AM. At 10:55 they called to say they were late, and the appliance repairman would be arriving soon. I had to explain the problem and arrange for a plumber to show up. Fortunately a plumber was in the area and arrived 45 minutes later. They waived the $59.95 service call fee. The plumber was really nice, and had a price list of every repair. So I was charged the same price as everyone else and I liked that. Unfortunately he left a valve open when he turned the water main back on, and about 4 - 5 gallons of water went flooding into the laundry room. Most was contained the pan under the washing machine. Basically he made the stupid mistake that I was trying to prevent by doing the repair myself. He left and I had to grab towels and set up a fan to dry out the laundry room.
Description of Work: They replaced the hot and cold water valves leading to the washing machine.
