Al came out and floated and textured sheet rock for our guest half bath, around a new fireplace surround and repaired ceiling from water damage. He was very professional and took his time and completed the work properly. He matched the current texture of our walls and ceiling perfectly. It was not a large job, but he gave us his time and professionalism as if we were paying him thousands! We will definitely use him again if the need ever arises.

The estimate was $1500. Their friendliness and professionalism was fine. The reason we didn't go with them was because their price was much higher. It was higher than the other estimates that we have gotten. When we had first contacted them, they had not gotten back to us. We had to contact them for the second time.

He is a super good guy. He is very personable and professional. He is a really good guy. My only complaint was that I thought he was going to do the work. He had subcontractors. I had some issues with my toilet and they had to come back. Overall, my experience was pretty good. I was happy with one of the subcontractors but not really the other. I had to do some cleaning up after them.

I was pretty satisfied with Al's work. Al's bid was one of the highest but I went with him based on reviews and the fact that he seems like a good employer (provides health insurance, disability benefits, etc. to his employees). Pros: He and his team are very punctual and courteous. Al even offered a cheaper fix if I wanted to just fix the shower drain connection once he identified the problem. But knowing that the previous contractor who worked on this did a horrible job, I was afraid of other problems with the shower. So Al and team did the whole shower. It's great that Al has a good team - it's not just one guy trying to do everything. There were always 2-3 of them working, helping and cleaning up, which was nice. They are a very professional team who I was happy to have done the work. They didn't take any shortcuts and kept me pretty well updated on each step, which is nice because of past bad experiences. Cons: The tiles on one wall had to get re-laid because it was too bumpy and crooked and didn't look good. Al took it upon himself to fix this. But overall, their tile laying wasn't as good as could be - you can definitely see where they did the work and it is not as smooth and straight as the original work in rest of the shower. The fixing added more time and the whole job did take longer than initially stated (3.5 days instead of 2). But honestly, I think laying these 1x1-inch square tile sheets are a pretty fine skill and easy to mess up. I truly did appreciate Al standing up for his work and fixing the errors. Overall, I would definitely use Al's service again for other repairs and jobs. Besides the minor bumps, the bathroom looks great. And he guarantees his work for a long time. Highly recommended.

It was ok. I was not that pleased with him. His definition of a make way cleanup kind of thing was not exactly mine. He really tried but I wasn’t impressed with the people who worked for him. Of the three people that I brought out to look at the work and give me a bid, I thought, he was probably the best of the three. I think because it was a rental property they hadn’t put their best people on it, that’s the problem I had with it. The paint job was subpar and I had to dig him up several times to re clean because they just did not clean up very well and they left paint in the yard. He tried very hard to please us, he kept coming back. The guy whom he used to do cleaning was not very good. I had to go back and redo all the windows and my new tenant had to clean all the cabinets. He was really trying to make sure that his Angies List rating did not come down He did try but the quality was not that good. He was responsive as he came when I called.

He has really good pricing and does really good work.

He showed up an hour late the first time. I noticed that the seams were not flat up against the wall so I called him to come back out and fix it. The worker then showed up 45 minutes late also so I sent him home.

I would definitely use Al the Handyman again. I have had terrible service with handymen/ contractors in the past so I am always very nervous when hiring a new person; which is why I decided to use Angie's List in the first place . Al was great and the job was done right! I contacted Al along with 2 other handymen services a few weeks ago. Al was very quick to respond to my call and sent me a bid within a few hours. I liked that he was able to send me a bid on the work without having to come out here just to see that it was indeed, replacing 6 doors. Other companies wanted to come out here, which forces me to schedule multiple visits- which is a pain - for something that is fairly straightforward and should have a set price (in my opinion). I decided to go with Al because he had the best price and it seemed like he had a lot of door experience on Angie's List that was very favorable. After a little back and forth with scheduling he was able to get the work done today, Thursday the 26th of Jan. We did have an issue with scheduling but Al was able to reschedule quickly and to my satisfaction. Today, Al was here when he said he would be here and did the job in much less time than I thought it would take (less than a day!). He worked really hard and the doors seem perfect.

Al arrived on campus, met with my housedad to discuss the sliding glass door issue, examined the door and discovered he was able to make the repair. He called me to request approval to complete the repair by stating the options, cost and time needed to complete his service for us. I approved and he was finished within thirty minutes.

We don’t remember how much we spent on their services. We moved into this house about four months ago and so we had lots of people in doing things for us. They were prompt and very nice people. They did a good job. We will use their services again in the future.

He did a great job. He charged me $150 for his service, and I paid him in cash. I especially liked that he was very friendly. He was a guest in my house unlike somebody just trying to keep to themselves and not even wanting to interact with me at all. It was easy to be comfortable with him working in the home. I would recommend other people to go for him. The other responses I got from people in the list were just opposite to his. They all said they needed to do particular things and that they needed to make a quote. It was just a lot of stuff even though I had listed all my requirements. He just said that he can do it all for $150. It was one of the nice things about him. I don’t see any reason why any of those other people would have thought they would have been able to do it all like him at that price, so it was really good. I would use him again in the future.

I liked him. He was a pretty good guy. The price seemed reasonable.

I think it was Dave who came out. He was very friendly and personable, got right to work. He worked efficiently and had no trouble getting the fans balanced. Everything is working great several weeks later. I have no complaints and would use them again. Oh, and the estimate of time and cost was accurate. He does charge a service call on top of the hourly.

I had time adjusted the front door. He ended up bending a hinge to get the it to close right. It was not the proper repair, and I had to have a locksmith come out and fix it. He also caulked around the kitchen sink. It started to come off within 2 weeks.

They did an excellent job. I actually had them do more than I initially called them for and they did a wonderful job. We had some gutter problems and it was very hard finding someone to repair gutters. I didn't realize they did roof cleaning and deck staining as well. We talked about it. He gave me a very good price to do them all. I have actually given their name out to people. Al himself came out and discussed the work. I felt like he was very knowledgeable. I even asked him about a few things that I wasn't sure I was going to have done. He answered my questions. It was more work than I was planning on having done. We negotiated a very good price for it. He gave me a price break because I was doing more and I appreciated that. I felt like he gave a fair price for all the work that was done. He came out himself. He was very professional and seemed to be very knowledgeable. The gentleman who actually came out to do the work did the work himself. For one guy, he did quality work. He even noticed some carpenter ants and pointed them out to me when he was up on the roof. It had nothing to do with what he was doing. He just did a very good job. The deck staining was wonderful. He did a great job doing that as well. He did well on the job. He gave us some options. We have a carport and there is an open section between the house and carport. It wasn't done properly. When I asked him what we could do about it, he said we could leave it alone or he gave us two different options of what we could do with it. He explained all of them and their cost and then we chose one. He could have just left that like it was but he told us if we wanted it done, they could do it. He communicated well. They were very nice people. I don't remember the price that they quoted but I remember that it was good. I felt that it was extremely competitive. It was quality work that was done.

His quality of work was reasonably high. He was a good value for the money. I would recommend him. However, sometimes he is a little bit dramatic. There were some bumps in the road. He isn't the easiest to work with, but he has good prices.
