The job went excellently. We are thrilled with the results. Steve and his crew took an outdated bathroom filled with yellowed faux-marble and created a beautiful, light-filled bathroom. He provided tiling, resurfacing, and plumbing work - basically he and his crew did everything necessary to complete the job. The job was completed on time, the workspace was kept clean and neat, and the quality is outstanding. I would recommend Steve to anyone.

Steve fixed our shower pan leak, a problem that dogged us from the time our house was constructed in 2000. We had several contractors show up who said that resurfacing would solve the problem. None were right. Steve worked to find the true source of the problem and charged us several hundred dollars rather than five or six thousand that others included in their bid. We appreciated his willingness to perform a smaller job than others made it out to be.

My trade is a facilities manager and over the years have worked with all sorts of contractors. It is indeed difficult to find people who show up on time, do what they say they will do, finish when they say they would and make their work good at the price stated without change orders. In my experience for both parties to be successful, its all about setting expectations that are mutually understood up front. I typically take reviews with a grain of salt until I have thoroughly vetted, called peoples "positive" references to understand what is not being said, and I realize that contractors do not enjoy success in all jobs and their customers may have unrealistic expectations and an axe to grind too, if they felt something was not done to absolute perfection. Having said all that, I followed this same process with this company and I was quite pleased with the outcome. For example when, I offered prior to starting the job that a concern was expressed over being at the site at a certain time, the owner stated I will be there at the time we set. And in fact he over delivered a little bit, coming early. We also discussed what we do, in case a surprise comes up, which I do with every contractor,, because I have never run across a good surprise. The job I had was quite a difficult one, the fiberglass shower floor was cracked in several places, nearly to the point of falling through. I had several contractors come out and explain their various technical approaches. The reason I liked Steve Williams is that he gave it to me straight, some of the things that were proposed by other contractors as a solution simply would not work, and he showed me why. The price he quoted was actually about 10 to 20 percent higher than others, but I trusted his professional judgment and also knowing that he was retained by some large public institutions in town to do their work on a continual basis. We struck an agreement, he sent his crew out, very polite young men, just absolutely amenable to work with and they did their technique as far as filling underneath the shower, and then they put a new fiberglass overlayment followed by a special paint. It looked absolutely as good as new. The only problem that developed was the caulk used prior to painting did not adhere and dry to my marble base. No problem, Steve cheerfully sent out one of his crew who ripped out the caulk around the shower floor baseboard and redid it with the caulk of my preference. I think that cost him an extra half a day and a couple more tubes of caulk. I have not had a problem since on the floor, save a slight paint flick nick on the floor, possibly something dropped their after they did the job. I wish I had done this job sooner, the shower is no longer an eyesore. Here it is, nearly a year later and the shower is one less problem for us to worry about, given the right technical solution offered by a professional other than doing a complete shower remodel. My feeling is that if you want a good job, interview several contractors, find out who has the most work and talk to some of their prior customers if they don't mind divulging the info. There is always a reason why. My experience is just one data point but I would like to point out that they did what they said they would do, and that's enough for my book. If I have more work in this area, I will call them.

Steve Williams of All Bath and Counter verbally contracted with me to renovate my kitchen and bath tubs as well as other handyman type activities in March of 2013. We came to an agreement to start work in April based on both our schedules. He didn't have the proper samples or note taking, but he convinced us based on price and his stated experience. The nightmare begins: Steve calls me on Sunday night March 31st out of the blue and asks that we start the following day - not sure who will show up or when. I politely decline, stating that we needed time to arrange our belongings and that it would have been nice to get a bit more advanced warning. Steve agrees but not sure when he can show up. Finally shows up: Some time goes by and Steve decides to a date upon which we can both agree. He states that he would be done with our small kitchen and bath resurfacing (fumes) in 1 day, maybe 2 -- we end up paying for four nights at local hotels. The surfacing ends up having several defects identified to Steve. Some touch ups were performed. Some simply ignored. Fumes galore. We asked for staining of our kitchen cabinets. The surfaces were not properly primed. The proper number of coatings was not applied evenly to all areas of cabinet doors and drawers. Parts of our kitchen wall were stained over. Steve overcharges for installing an over the range microwave by $75 - "didn't price in a guy I had to call" Steve destroys my kitchen sink area tile because he "misjudged the glue" - paints over the earlier resurfaced area. I still have to pay full price. Paint is left all over my floor tiles - refused to clean up. Horrible punctuality and communication: Something would always come up with Steve. We had to delay work several times due to personal matters, worker's lack of experience or ability to show up, etc. Steve said he would pick up appliances, etc. I ended up having to rent a truck myself. There was always an excuse or issue. Steve doesn't seem to like to read texts/emails in full. He also doesn't like to hear voice mails either. THE KICKER: Accepting payment in full, not providing a promised receipt, cutting out on further contracted work, and then demanding more money- or else! Steve disappeared for over 6 weeks after finishing half the job. I'm paying interest on building materials and appliances baking in my garage. He then suddenly threatens my family with a lien on our house if we don't pay up for work already paid in full. Don't know how this will turn out, but warning others - AVOID AT ALL COST!

Zach was very happy with the work done at his home. He got upset when I didn't want to do further projects for him, and I stopped answering his phone calls.

Steve arrived, talked my ear off, gave me a bid and left. He guaranteed that the bathtubs would be slick surfaced (like porcelain). It took him 2 weeks to finish the job, hanging me up with the painters and other workers. There is a bumpy texture to the tubs. Reinstalled the drain but it started rusting immediately. Told me he would come back on 2 different occasions but never has. He said there was a 3 year warranty (2 years on rent houses) but he's never come back. Shoddy workmanship, poor work ethic, big talker. Watch out; he told me his last name was Williamson but this is the same company.

I have recently joined Angie's list because one of my regular customers told me I should see my reviews here. I am surprised to find this horrible review. I have no knowledge or record of this customer so, I do not know how to adress it! All I can say is this. For 25 years I have been refinishing bath tubs right here in Austin. I have plenty of references that will review my company as A+ Thank you! P.S. I have NEVER needed to beg for a job!

The man does not back his work and cannot be trusted to perform work satisfactorily and honorably. I don't recommend that he be contracted for work. He is unreliable and should not be engaged to do work.
Description of Work: Steve claimed to offer a five year warranty and to back up this residential work. Bath tub refinishing and reglazing was the work to be done. Steve came out to the house. Spent about an hour and a half working time. There was a large porcelain chipped area on the tub surface area. He stated that he could repair it and perform the full service bath tub work. He was then paid in full. The chipped area was not done correctly and there is a large highly noticeable outline area where the chip is. He was contacted to return to fix the area that was done incorrectly three times. He said he would show up, but never returned to the house or called to say why he would not come.
