+ -1 moreAlan and his team painted the interior of a large portion of our home. We added a small addition to our dining room with a large amount of new moulding and cabinet work. He painted the new wood work and painted existing kitchen cabinets (that were originally white-washed oak). He painted an office area, bedroom and bathroom that included new built-in and existing cabinets. The paint job included large amounts of chair railing, ceiling bead board, base board and ceiling moulding. The majority of the enamel work was spray painted and there was not a brush mark to be found! I would estimate he painted approximately 3,000 square feet. I had concerns of painting over wood-finished cabinets and how they would and quot;wearand quot; over time. I'm taking the time to write a review of a job that is 8 years old because his work has stood the test of time. Our kitchen and ALL the paint work he did looks as good today as the day his team finished. He and his men were professional, knew exactly what they were doing and I would certainly use them again.

+ -1 moreFrom the outset, the work was done and completed as scheduled. Mr. Heine's crew of three to four was superior to that which I have ever seen on any other painting work. The crew showed up every day on time, and worked with steady and dedicated effort and attention to the finest details of preparation, including cleaning and caulking, as well as to the painting. The finished appearance throughout is superb, with complete coverage, while no paint or caulk was applied except exactly where it should have been.
Description of Work: I asked Mr. Heine to provide an estimate for painting of extensive trim, including dormers and porch columns on the exterior of my large brick faced home. I chose him to make an estimate based upon his Company's rating on Angie's List, as well as upon the very positive recommendation of a neighbor who had used him, and the appearance of the work done on my neighbor's home. Mr. Heine was one of three chosen from Angie's List to submit a proposal. Of all of the estimates made, Mr. Heine's specifications were spelled out in the most complete and systematic way, by a very long shot! His proposal illustrated what I considered the best and most appropriate understanding of the work to be done, in terms of both inclusions and exclusions. Part of the proposal specified that carpentry and wood replacement would be determined separately, and the hourly rate for any such additional work would be billed separately, after appropriate discussion - I particularly liked this arrangement, as some of the additional carpentry could not really be determined until after some of the prep work (pressure wash, scraping, etc) was done! The cost estimate for the work was about the same as that submitted by one other contractor; it was somewhat higher than that of a third contractor.
