He is excellent. The quality of his work is very very good. He is very meticulous in his work. He was fair on his price. He was on time.

I had spoken with four different contractors and I had selected him. He and his crew started work just after Labor Day. They took about three weeks to build the deck. I spent about $20,000 on the job. He was very good at discussing new ideas and trying to get everything I wanted to work out within my budget. All the other bids I had received where way above my budget. However, he really worked with me on how to get the costs down and still help me get as many of the features and designs as I wanted. I greatly appreciated his interactions with me. He did a wonderful job on the deck. He had a very good crew. They were great. However, what really stood out was his interaction with me to help me get the deck that I wanted within my budget. I will use this company again in the future if required.

After interviewing six of the most reputable deck builders in Austin, we chose Al to build our 2400 square foot deck for the following reasons: 1) He did not come across as a salesman ? he is a hands-on builder working alongside his crew. Because he is hands-on on a daily basis, I knew he would be able to give us a reliable and realistic quote. He investigated the condition of our deck and was able to provide the most detailed information regarding the condition of our deck. No other deck representatives were able to provide as much detail or give as accurate of an analysis ? I assume because they never built decks themselves or they don?t do it anymore as they now rely on their crews. 2) He has worked with both natural and composite wood decks and he gave us the pros and cons of each. He left it for us to decide. Now, this is why we are so happy with the deck : 1) our deck is stunning. Everyone who sees it exclaims what a nice-looking and well-built deck we have. 2) Because he is also a carpenter, he built in some nice craftsmanship into the deck. 3) When you interview him, what you see is what you get. He is a straight-shooter, easy to talk to and do business with. He truly earned our trust throughout the project and kept it. 4) He took care of everything. His pride in quality and workmanship ensured we got the best-built and best-looking deck we could get within our budget. We are so proud of our deck. We look forward to hiring Al for projects in the coming Fall as well. We wish him continued success.

Al did an excellent job. He suggested design modifications to our new deck which would help accomodate a tree stump that would be partially covered by the deck. Our deck is absolutely gorgeous and well constructed. We get compliments from everyone that comes over. I also appreciated that Al was willing to work within our budget and got the work done quickly. He squeezed us in between job and had the deck done with in 3 days. Will absolutely use him again when I can convince my husband to build a gable overhang.

Al was prompt and courteous through the whole process. If he needed to change his schedule, he would call me ahead of time. He quickly removed the old deck and hauled away the wood. He built the new deck with precision and accuracy, and according to my plans. And he cleaned up afterwards. The new deck is solid and will last many years. I'm extremely happy with the finished product and will use him again.
