After several very unpleasant experiences with another company, I called Air Movement this morning because they were highly rated on Angie's List. The owner, Eric Sulter, said he could come at 2:00 this afternoon, and in fact showed up at exactly the appointed time. Eric started troubleshooting and found that sloppy workmanship by the previous company has caused a short circuit which had shut down the system. He cleaned up the sloppy work and corrected those mistakes and had us going again in a few hours. He charged only for two hours of labor because he felt he took too much time to locate the problem, and gave me a 10% discount to boot. Let's see: come when you say you will be there, know what you're doing, solve the problem, be honest, and charge what's fair. What a concept! Highly recommended!

Great! We contracted through an Angie's List "Big Deal" promotion. Eric contacted me by email rather than phone which was much appreciated -- taking calls while you're working can be a pain. He was very flexible in working around my schedule and very professional. Also, when he made recommendations for some simple maintenance items I thought I could probably perform myself, he was very helpful. Great customer service. We will definitely work with him again!

Eric is the real deal. There were no supprises , which in the heating and a/c business isn't uncommon. I would use Eric again with no hesitation. He seemed to have an excellent knowledge of his practice . Seemed honest , and dedicated to building a good name for himself.

I asked Eric to come to my house and give me his expert opinion on a brand new heating and air conditioning installation that was performed by a different company over a year and a half ago. The company that installed the system did a terrible job, and Eric confirmed this for me and in addition showed me all of the things that needed to be fixed, such as leveling the system, places where attic air was entering into the system, improper seals, etc. It was obvious that he knew what he was talking about. I didn't have him fix the system because I was able to get the original company on the hook to fix everything for free, even though the one year warranty on their work had expired (it was a 2 person job for more than half a day). I even got them to give me yearly maintenance for the next 5 years for free to make up for their blunder. Eric's information gave me leverage to deal with that company intelligently.

It was very smooth even in light of having to go back to reassess the problem.

He made recommendation for improvements. I would use him again in future.

Eric previously repaired my mother-in-law's furnace, so I was familiar with his work. I called him to perform a routine maintenance on my current gas furnace, which I had never had inspected since moving in about 8 years earlier. The furnace itself was 15 years old. He performed the inspection, and in the end, discovered a series of cracks in the heat exchanger. He was able to show me the cracks with a small camera he inserted into the exchanger. Because of the danger of carbon monoxide poisoning, he immediately took readings throughout the house and ascertained that there was not yet any measurable leakage. But he went out of his way to install a replacement on the first day I was available to have it done. The work took about 6 hours. He installed a high-efficiency heater, which required additional duct work, and it was all done very neatly, in a timely fashion. The cost was exactly what he said it would be, in fact, he never charged me for the original maintenance. He protected the tile floor in the laundry room where the heater is during the project and cleaned up beautifully afterwards. Because I couldn't be home when he finished, he graciously returned the next day to receive payment and give us some tips on the new furnace. Overall, he did a superlative job, and we were extremely happy with the result.

We recently purchased a home and need to install heating as a condition for our loan. The home was also a probate sale, which meant we needed the work to be completed in just a few days. Erik was not only the most reasonable bid, but he also completed the work incredibly fast. His work was very high quality and he's a pleasure to work with. I'd highly recommend him and I'm already planning to work with him on another project.

Although Eric had never seen my type of furnace before, within an hour he successfully diagnosed the problem. It involved replacing a pusher switch. He ordered the part and returned a few weeks later to install it. Eric is very knowledgeable and professional. As for negative feedback: the job might have cost a little more than the competition (although it was well worth it to me). Also, he was sometimes a little slow to respond to my voicemails / emails. But in the end, he always got back to me, and did fix the problem in a timely manner.

Eric is great. He's great. I interviewed maybe 6 companies and all of them quoted over a grand for the job. Eric outbid them with no loss in quality. The house is warm and comfy. We are pleased. Moreover, he removed an old and yukky filter in our heater and gave the specific instructions on what to replace it with and how to do it. When I ran into problems making it fit, I gave Eric a call (this was months later) and he came by the same day and gave me a little demo, installing the filter and giving me some great tips, all for free.

We had several people come out to give us estimates on the work and Eric was the only person who actually calculated the square footage of our house and the size of our windows to take into account when recommending a system to us. He was a pleasure to work with, honest, friendly and professional. His quote was reasonable and I felt most comfortable with him. He is a one man show and went out of his way to make sure our system was working and connected properly (we have leaking vents as well). I highly recommend Eric.

Very responsive, diagnosed the situation well, communicated problems in completing the repair, and went the extra mile when needed.

After multiple calls I finally got a return call (should have been a clue). Scheduled a time for him to give me an estimate. He didn't show. When I tried to call him, his voicemail was full, so I couldn't even leave a message. Was able to leave a message the next day asking if I had made a mistake on the time. He returned my call several days later.

I called Air Movement and we set up an appointment. He showed up. I explained about how I didn't know any history on this heater except that I brought the house knowing heater was broken. He realized something was amiss because the light bulb in the attic and the heater both had no power. He traced the electrical mess and got the power back on to the bulb and the heater. He fixed the heater and helped educate me on the new techie thermostat. He checked to make sure there was no carbon monoxide coming from the vents now that the heater was working. The heater looked like it hadn't worked for years. THE BEST news besides not needing a whole new furnace heater was the cost. So reasonable, so worth it, so easy to work with him. Before contacting him, I checked Angie's List but in addition I checked another website. They list certified technician in HVAC. To be certified they have to pass 21 test. Air Movement's Eric is a certified technician. Some company's boss is but their workers isn't so they don't have as much diagnostic skills to fix it right the first time. Reading Angie's List I often come across boss' fixing a problem by then sending a more qualified person, isn't that just a ripoff?

It was a much longer process than I had thought it would be, but in the end I'm happy with the job performed and the system is working well. Our interaction started off a bit bumpy when he failed to show up for our initial appointment to do measurements and bring over the contract (after I had accepted the bid). Eric made it up by giving me a 10 year parts and labor warranty. We had set a start date in mid August, but two days before the start date I got a call from Eric stating that his supplier didn't have the furnace available and that we'd have to wait indefinitely. I had to wait about a month until it was ready. Eric was nice enough to give me an upgraded furnace (originally quoted a 95% afue furnace, but upgraded it to the 97-98% afue newer model). Once work started, Eric and his assistant were punctual and fairly neat. They brushed most of the debris, but everyday I had to vacuum because I have a toddler. Once the system was done, there needed to be a couple adjustment appointments and Eric was happy to do that to ensure that we were happy with the new heating system. Overall I'm happy with the work and the price was very reasonable compared to other bids. Communication can be an issue since it is pretty much a one man company, so don't expect an immediate response to emails. Phone calls are probably the better way to go. Also, be prepared for delays to your schedule but I guess that's true with any contractor.

I needed my heating ducts repaired and re-insulated. A junction in the flexible duct in the crawlspace had completely fallen apart and other areas of ducting were sagging due to a prior company's poor installation (improper seals and inadequate support). In addition, the prior company had installed crappy unfaced insulation on the hard ducting in the garage. I called several other companies and had difficulty getting someone to come out to look at the system. One company wanted to charge $90 just to give me an estimate. I was about to do the repairs myself and had even bought a bunch of materials from a home improvement store when I finally called Air Movement. Eric answered the phone himself and made an appointment for a few days later. He arrived on time, took a look, told me it would cost about $150 to fix the broken junction and to improve the ducting and we immediately scheduled a time for the repairs. He arrived on time for the repair and completed the job within the estimated time and for the estimated price. System works great now. Eric was friendly and professional. I would definitely use him again.

Excellent. Eric was very prompt and responsive with phone conversations. He was flexible with time to meet me. He offered a very competitive quote and was willing to do a fixed bid on the work. He did the work when he said he would and got it done on time. He did not juggle me around and make excuses for delays, like so many other contractors do. He made himself available to meet the city inspector to ensure the sign off went well. He's overall knowledgeable about requirements, client-focused demeanor, and professionalism were excellent. I highly recommend Air Movement.

It went great! Eric was very professional, punctual, knowledgeable and thorough in his work. I would definitely recommend him again. Initially, I had called Eric because I had a thermostat problem with my heater. Eric arrived and examined the unit. After a few minutes he located the source of the problem, which was a dangling wire that I had bumped up against and shorted out a connection. He fixed that problem in a few minutes, and said there was NO charge for the service. I was surprised to say the least, to find workers who had such a good work ethic and were friendly and reasonable to work with. Eric offered to come back and perform a preventative maintenance (which I had not done in 8 years, so it was probably overdue)-however there was no hard sell at all. I decided to have the work performed and Eric returned a week later for that work. He again was very punctual and did a professional job. It took him 1.5 hours and when finished he went over each item he had examined, reported on its status, etc. Very Professional! Lastly, I had asked Eric to perform a "duct cleaning" of the heater ducts, but he is no longer in that business. He did refer me to a friend who performs that work and suggested several tips to watch for when a duct cleaning is performed.

Really great. Eric conducted a thorough analysis of our home's heating system, cleaned and reinstalled a furnace that had been disconnected for 2 1/2 years, purchased and installed new ducts and thermostat, and installed a new intake grate. Best thing about Eric is that after (very) patiently listening to a whole list of questions/issues we had in our heating systems, he gave very thorough answers and made really great suggestions in regard to resolving our heating/furnace/water heater problems. For instance, he told me what to look out for when hiring duct cleaning vendors and also gave me great advice on maintenance issues at an apartment building we own. Eric's prices for furnace maintenance are lower than other vendors' prices. We will have Eric install our tankless water heater at our house at a later date as well as take care of any heating and air conditioning issues at our apartment building. Highly recommended!

Eric actually did load calculations with software after a careful measuring visit and emailed us a quote quickly (one other company did a quote on the spot and was $4K higher for an over sized furnace and 80% off, another company took 3 weeks to send a quote that was between the 2 in size and price). We ended up asking for a slightly larger furnace because of what other companies quoted, he obliged for a few hundred dollars more, but, he was right we have heat overcapacity and the furnace almost never goes to 2nd stage--we keep home 68 eves and weekends and 60 when not home. The only snag was an inspector that was cranky about our gas line being too small (Eric also added a tankless water heater, separate contract). Eric showed us the code book (the line was compliant) but advised we not fight city hall. He got his friend, a plumber certified to work on a gas meter, to come upgrade the pipe etc (2 guys 4 hours) and split that cost with us ($200 each), more than fair.

I called Eric on Sunday at noon. The furnace assigned to our tenants unit failed to ignite for the last 24 hours and they were cold. Eric went out of his way to come by that afternoon. Rather than trying to sell us on a new furnace (like others repairmen had suggested) Eric creatively suggested that we take a valve from the adjacent furnace (the one assigned to our unit) and use it to fix our tenant's unit so that their heat would be restored. His idea worked and our tenants had their heat restored within an hour (for a landlord, a huge relief). In the meantime, he ordered a replacement part for our other furnace and while we will be without heat until the replacement part arrives, we think it is worth the peace of mind to know that our tenants are comfortable not to mention the money he saved us by not having to replace the furnace altogether. He also performed a carbon monoxide test to ensure clean air in our tenants apartment.

Air movement was great. Eric was on time, very polite and did the work on his own with no need for me to even be there (the heater is under the house so this was great!). I would highly recommend them.

Our furnace decided to die two days before Christmas. We were fortunate to find Eric at Air Movement. His price was fair and he installed the furnace for us on December 24th. I highly recommend Eric. He is honest and extremely experienced and knowledgeable about heating. Two of my children suffer from asthma, so we decided to install a higher grade HEPA filter. During the installation, Eric found that some of our ducts had holes and were full of dirt. He replaced them for a very reasonable fee. He was clean, prompt, and does quality work. He came up with some creative ideas to relocate the furnace to save space. What really impressed me was that Eric dropped in one week later to check the furnace and to see if we had any questions.
