He was very nice but I felt like he was leading me down the wrong path.

My roof was leaking. DJ Shay responded immediately to my call and thoroughly inspected my roof. He covered the roof in felt to deter further damage and come out to my house at least twice to meet with insurance adjusters before a contract was signed and at no cost to me. DJ walked the adjusters through the damage he identified and answered any questions. When I decided to go metal, DJ answered questions and brought samples for me to see. The installation of the roof began when I scheduled it and was completed by a knowledgeable and skilled crew. There was always someone on hand who spoke English so I could communicate with the crew. Plus DJ checked in once or twice a day. The work was completed sooner than promised for the quoted price. It looks great and, added bonus, my attic heater seems quieter.

The estimator talked a good game and then we never heard from him again. He really wasted our time.

After extensive investigation on Angie's List, I decided that Ace Roofing would be included as one of the three contractors invited to bid on my damaged roof replacement project. After viewing the project, Ace?s Project Manager DJ Shay stated his belief that I should request my insurance adjuster to come for a second visit and also agreed to meet with him to show the damage he was seeing. He also volunteered a crew to cover the problem in anticipation of rain within the next couple of days. After weighing the option to repair the damaged portion vs. entire roof replacement, I opted for the full roof replacement with a ridge vent added. While all three bids were competitive, I chose Ace Roofing mostly due to the professionalism and helpfulness exhibited by DJ Shay including his great communication before and during the process. The crew showed on the appointed day and time and completed the job in one day leaving the ground spotless. I would recommend Ace Roofing without hesitation.

DJ was the Project Manager. He spent a significant amount of time with me explaining the options and the process. I felt like I was given the information I needed in order to make an informed decision. He responded to all my phone calls in a timely manner and was on time for the scheduled appointments. The actual installation was done on time and professionally. The crew cleaned up as promised and other than the new roof I would have had no idea they had spent the day at my house. I would recommend Ace Roofing to anyone!

We called Ace Roofing Co based on reviews they received from Angie’s and Yelp as well as their BBB accreditation. I spoke with Lane on July 31st and he set up a consultation for the next day and gave us an estimate right away, explaining anything that could come up that might change the price. We have a 50’s ranch-style home with a partial flat roof that had a substantial leak due to bad workmanship from the previous roofer. Lane was very informative about the specialized team and process they use for flat roofs due to the complexities they tend to carry. Lane’s laid back “Austin” manner was very comforting and he readily answered any questions I had (and I had a bunch). That along with the fact that Ace did the roof for the Austin BBB building (along with several other well-known local buildings) were huge bonus points for me and we chose Ace almost on-the-spot, even though they were a little higher priced than other bids we received (within $300). Ace was able to start on our roof the next week and finished the work in one day. We could see the difference in Ace’s workmanship from the ground, before even climbing on the roof to check everything out. We were also able to work with Ace to have the rotting trim pieces replaced as part of their work. In an effort to save us money, there was a piece or 2 of trim that wasn’t replaced that we wanted replaced. We discussed this with one of the owners, DJ who came by personally to do a walk-around once the job was finished. He called his team on-the-spot and set them up to come the next day, and we were only charged for the material. We weren’t 100% happy with one small section and DJ sent his team out again to fix it as well. Having dealt with several contractors, I was expecting a ‘fight’ to get everything finished to our satisfaction, but everyone at Ace was all about making everything just right. As with any project, things tend to come up and the way a company deals with those things will either make or break it for them. Ace definitely ‘made it’ for us and we will certainly give Lane and DJ a call when we’re ready to replace the rest of our roof, as well as when we’re ready to add a gutter system (which we spoke to DJ about and he was able to bid it out right away). Our original estimate was within $250 of what we were billed, but we were informed of the extra costs up-front (more decking needed to be replaced than what was originally expected). The team cleaned up extremely well at the conclusion of the job, you couldn't even tell they had been there. We’re very happy with the whole process and won’t hesitate to call Ace again!

DJ and Bob were the project managers. They were prompt, courteous, very professional, and did an excellent job on the repair. They called when they said they would, arrived on time, and they even guaranteed their work for 5 years, something the other roofers would not do. Two rainstorms later and we know the job was a success. Will definitely call Ace again for future work.

We needed a complete roof replacement and after reading reviews on Angie's List and other sources went with Ace Roofing Co. .I had several companies come out and give estimates but they never got back to me or they where outrageously priced . The Project Manager for Ace Roofing was D.J. Shay . He came out when he promised , got back to me promptly with a very good estimate and went out of his way to make sure I understood the process and even came out ( early) one morning to meet with my Insurance Agent . The day of my scheduled roof repair the workers were on time and did a great job of cleaning up the debris from my yard and as promised the job was done in one day . If you want a dependable , trustworthy and professional roofing company , Give Ace Roofing a call !

I contacted Ace Roofing to get a quote on a leak repair for my patio roof. The woman who answered the phone picked up quickly, was very polite and knew her business, and assured me that I would receive a phone call scheduling my appointment within 24 hours. A day later, I did receive a phone call setting up my appointment for the next day. DJ came to the house at the appointed hour, inspected the roof (as well as the rest of the roofing on the house), and diagnosed the problem. He invited me to go up on the roof with him so he could show me what he was seeing and to help explain why he came up with his diagnosis. Throughout he was friendly, professional, and courteous. the end, he diagnosed a problem that his company could not fix and recommended that we hire a general carpenter to fix it. Even though he could not make money off of this visit, it was clear that he was establishing a relationship with a potential future client and he succeeded. I will definitely call Ace Roofing to get a bid on any future roofing repairs we may have.

The crew came and DJ showed up to show them exactly what to do. They were quick and even though there was a big rain shower for about 30 minutes, the crew just waited it out and went back to work after that. DJ came to check out the finished work the next day and wasn't 100% satisfied so he had the crew come again to do some touch-ups. I appreciated his attention to detail and workmanship. After the second go around, Bob (another manager from Ace Roofing) came to check the work and again I went on the roof to see all that was done. Ace Roofing really cares about its customers and its work!

They did a fantastic job. They were very prompt and cordial.

DJ Shay came out the day after I called to inspect the roof and prepared an estimate later that evening. He was extremely professional, punctual and clearly explained how the process would work with our insurance company. He also took time to explain what steps his crew would take to repair the roof, gutters and downspouts. Two days later, Bob Jordan, the manager of the job, came out promptly in the morning with a crew of 5. They were all friendly and went to work immediately. Bob was super nice and took time to explain to our kids each step of replacing our roof. The crew was amazing, they work like a well oiled-machine and finished the entire roof in one day! They cleaned up everything and even did a magnetic sweep to ensure no nails would be left in the road or driveway. DJ & Bob came back the next morning to inspect the work and make certain we were happy with the end result. Bottom line, DJ, Bob & ACE Roofing are 100% about customer satisfaction. They went above and beyond to make us feel confident in their companies work.

Before contacting Ace Roofing, we spoke with another roofer who said we needed to replace the entire roof, not something we wanted to do. So we looked on Angie's List and found A-rated Ace Roofing. We made an appointment with DJ. He came out quickly and at the time he said he would. He inspected the roof and found where the water was probably entering. He and his crew also found other problem areas. They showed us the weak spots, explained why they were a problem, and how they would fix them. We chose to have them fix all of it. Shortly after the repair, we had a major rainstorm. No leaks! (And much cheaper than an entire new roof.) We would recommend this company without hesitation.

They came out because our roof was leaking. They quoted us one thing and sent us a bill for something. They came and looked for the leak. They then sent someone else and they could not find the leak. They did put some tar on the roof and tried to charge us too much. They called us at 11:30 at night to try to get a payment. They were not very professional. They did not do what I was quoted for but the roof did stop leaking.

I picked out three providers rated as "A" from the list and got estimates from each for a complete re-roof of my house plus replacement of a roof on my backyard shed. Ace Roofing's initial bid was not the lowest, but they were the only one who informed me that I had hail damage and could possibly get insurance to pay at least a portion of the expense. D.J. Shay was very friendly and professional. He offered to meet with my husband and the insurance adjustor at our convenience. The adjuster confirmed the damage to the house and also established damage to the shed and a very banged up patio cover. The resulting claim payment, even though depreciated due to the long time that had elapsed between now and the last hail storm and also reduced to cover the deductible, was larger than my expectation. What was even nicer was that D.J. substantially reduced his estimate to within $100 of the funds we received. Ace Roofing finished the house and part of the shed in one day and finished the next morning. They were less noisy than we expected and did a great job of cleaning up. They even swept the patio, sidewalk, and driveway! The work done was excellent.

Repairman actually came earlier than scheduled (called first). Finished work in about 45 minutes. The solution was far less expensive (no charge) and tons more customer friendly than the other company. I would recommend this company to anyone wanting an honest estimate that includes and considers the customer's interests.

After a huge thumderstorm in the Austin area, I awoke to find a small puddle of water inside the house. It came from an area in the ceiling where water had clearly entered. So I went straight to Angie's List to find a company that could help make sure this wouldn't happen again. Enter Ace Roofing. They were quick to respond to my call and came out to see the house the following day. The representative (DJ) was very helpful and took the time to discuss some of the basic roofing issues that could have been exposed by the massive rainstorm. He went up on the roof and took a look around for a few minutes and determined what he felt strongly to be the cause. It was something very simple that he could adjust in about five minutes. Here is where I would like to say that water inside my house had me sufficiently concerned that he could have told me just about anything about the roof, and I would have been happy to have it fixed (within reason). He instead did what any honest person would do and told me the truth, even though it would not make hime any sort of profit. It didn't cost me a penny to have the adjustments made to my roof, but Ace has made a customer for life and an advocate of their service. I can't say that your issues will be resolved as easily as mine were, but I can say this is a company that deals with you fairly and honestly. On account, I highly recommend Ace Roofing.

Went well, less than a week between call and service, and I didn't even have to be home the day they came out to do the work. The leak is fixed!

Ace (DJ Shay) met with my insurance company and showed them the storm damage my roof had suffered in the past. After that, my insurance company agreed to pay for my new roof. They did a complete tear-off and replacement of my roof. They did a great job on the roof and a superb job of cleaning up the mess.

Wonderful to work with. Our house is run as a Bed and Breakfast, and he was able to work around the time we did not have guests. He put extra men on the job to finish because we had some rain delays. The crew did not leave any trash or debris behind. They also do a water test after the work to be sure the job was done right. With the water test we did find a spot where the roof overlapped and needed additional flashing. They resolved the problem quickly and with no additional cost. They did a fantastic job. If I ever have any roof problems again, I'll call them back. I had a leak in my bedroom ceiling. After they made the repair, you would never know there had been a leak.

This was my third estimate from an "A" rated roofer. This was not the least expensive, but DJ is interested in having a satisfied customer and a customer for life and was willing to negotiate with me on the price. I did get an upgrade for radiant barrier and this will pay for itself. Miguel and his crew were great and did a fantastic job and addressed all the questions and concerns I had. The work was done in one day and the job site was left spotless. I also asked for screening to be replaced in the attic and this was done for me. I have been involved in the replacement of several roofs and this one was by far the most pleasant experience.

D.J. came by to perform the initial inspection and found evidence of hail damage. He was very pleasant to work with and informed me on their process and what to expect on the insurance claim process. D.J. was also very punctual and gave me a heads-up call prior to coming by. On the day the insurance company was to come out D.J. was unavailable but the owner, Jason, contacted the insurance adjuster and arranged the meeting to go over damages. Thanks to D.J. and Jason they were able to work with the adjuster and make the insurance claim a very smooth process. They were out two days later and completed the job in one day. Miguel and his crew were very professional and knew what they were doing. The cleanup of debris from the job was extraordinary, I have yet to find a single nail, shingle or any other debris from the roof, in fact they left the place cleaner than they found it. Several times throughout the day D.J. came by to make sure everything was going well and after the job was completed he made sure I had any of my questions answered and inspected the job the crew performed. I would highly recommend ACE Roofing to anyone, their professionalism, speedy service without sacrificing quality and making sure I was 110% satisfied made this a great company to work with. I really appreciate the job well done and the ease of working with them.

We installed a new vent blower for my kitchen and the hood vent did not line up. I tried my hand at moving it but it just did not work to my standards. I emailed DJ and he returned my email on his vacation. He let me know he was available the following week. That Monday he came by with one of his employees. Looked over the job and gave me his price. It was very reasonable. After an afternoon of work, the job was complete and I was very happy with his service yet again.If you are in Austin, this should be your roofing company.

It is always good to know solid professional workmen. DJ & his crew are exactly that. My wife and I were looking at buying a new house. During a pre-inspection DJ came over and examined the roof and provided a solid estimate on closing in two old skylights. He looked the roof over very thoroughly and gave us his honest opinion. "You have a great roof". "Trim back the trees some more and you won't have any problems for quite a while." While some people might have tried to sell us a new roof, DJ understood the customer relationship is what builds his business, not just one off sales. The skylights were removed and area where they look is indistinguishable from the original parts. I HIGHLY Recommend Ace Roofing. Great price, excellent service. I plan to use them again.
