+ -1 moreI saw the discount offered on Angie's list for 2 hours of service. Before purchasing the coupon, I called AC Electric and explained what I needed. The lady I spoke with had me send her a picture of our electrical panel and told me she thought the job wouldn't take more than a couple of hours which is when I decided to purchase the discounted two hour service package from the website. After I purchased the coupon, the owner called and wanted to come by and see the scope of the job. The new estimate went from two hours to 6 hours and the price went from $199 to $895. I was very disappointed and asked Angie's list to refund my purchase which they did immediately.
Description of Work: I needed to have a 220 outlet installed in my garage so I could hook up my dryer.

I had good communications with the office to detail the amount of work I required and was able to schedule an appointment that worked well with my work schedule. I was told in advance that the amount work I had in mind would probably exceed the two hours and was given a reasonable hourly rate for anything that took longer. The elecrtician came on time and was very professional. All the work was done to my complete satisfaction. I liked the fact that he had me check if I liked the positioning of the new fixtures prior to tightening them down and was good humored when I asked him to adjust things - which he quickly did. The electrician was also really careful with the new light fixtures and fan. Best of all my back porch light is now working! All work was completed in under 3 hours. I would highly recommend AC Electric and will use them first if I ever have additional electrial needs. They do quality work and all the staff I worked with were professional and friendly.
Description of Work: Tightened ceiling fan (and changed light bulbs), relocated one ceiling fixture, replaced two other ceiling light fixtures with new lights, did trouble shooting on an issue with the back porch light (which required replacing a wall outlet) and installed a cover over an outdoor outlet.

Description of Work: My washer was cutting out,so we called ac electrical for service. I also asked for an estimate for the electrical service bid be looked due to te house being over 40 years old. They diagnosed my electric service was almost fused solid due to age. Within a week of initial service they replaced te electrical box, the outside connector to keep up with city standards changed the washer connection to four prong and gave the washer a seperate cutoff fuse I case of overload. I was very happy with the service. The service now has more circuits in case of increased electrical options.

I scheduled my appointment a couple of days later when he called back. The electrician arrived at my house on time for my appointment. He was very polite and made quick work of the tasks I had for him. I will use this company again.

+ -1 moreAaron was Fantastic!! He installed the plug via the closet under the stairs. He offered me a choice of just a cover plate or a box into which I could put a pull light under the stairs. The closet is deep and dark at the end so I was thrilled to have the ability to place a light in that area. He then moved on to the laundry. This is where he went above and beyond in installing the box in a VERY, VERY tight area. I still cannot figure out how he managed to do it but, he did exactly what we wanted. He was courteous and customer service oriented. Well done electrical work and left the work areas spotless! Highly recommended!

Description of Work: After purchasing a coupon from Angie's List, we contacted AC Electric. We wanted to add a new electrical outlet. The appointment was made on the date we requested, 3 days after our call. The electrician affrived on time, very courteous, and completed the job in a short time. He cleaned the area before leaving. He reviewed as to how he had gone about connecting the new outlet. We have some other electrical installations that we plan on making in the very near future. We plan on calling AC Electric to do the work. Based on our first experience, we recommend them.

The technicians stayed longer than they had to, per the terms of the deal, but didn't charge me any extra for the time. Everything works great, a few months later.

The electrician mounted every element exactly where I wanted it and connected those elements with each other under the hanging kitchen cabinets. He also connected those light fixtures to the electricity by running the connection cable through the wall toward an electric outlet. His work was done very orderly and professional.

+ 0 moreThe work went well and was completed in what I thought was very good time. Mike was always careful and seemed to me to be observing all elements of the electrical code, as far as I could see. Mike was very cheerful and straightforward, and it was pleasant dealing with him. Since the project was completed, we have had no trouble of any kind with any of the changes that he made to our house's electrical system.
Description of Work: Mike Short and his assistant came on-time and quickly grasped what I was asking him to do. These were four separate tasks: 1. To take several outlets in the house off a single GFCI at the outdoor circuit breaker panel and replace the outlets with individual GFCI's at each location. 2. We needed some new outlets in a bedroom to accommodate a large number of small items that need to be connected to outlets more readily accessible. 3. We needed a light installed in the coat closet in the entrance hallway. 4. We needed an outdoor GFCI outlet near the front door. I have done a lot of electrical work myself and I could see that Mike knows what he is doing. The two worked quickly and efficiently. Mike and I discussed some of the options and he presented the alternatives clearly and concisely.

+ 0 moreThey sent Aaron to do the actual work and I was pleased since previous reviewers had been very positive about their experience with him. I am very pleased with the result. Aaron was on time, very responsive, adjusted to my changing things on the fly (like not liking a light fixture and my running out to get another or wanting a elect. outlet moved and not being very decisive about where it would go). Aaron was patient and he was self-directed. Once he knew what was expected he went right to it. Aaron was also creative in finding solutions for issues that came up during installation (like unexpected limited access for a light fixture box that he made an elegant adjustment to make it work). The job took a day and most of another. Debi made the job go much smoother in adjusting the schedule to allow Aaron to come the next day when the job ran longer than estimated. Really everyone involved made me feel that this small job was important to them and I felt that the decision to have them do this project was a good one. I would call them again.
Description of Work: Mike took the time to hear my project details of the electrical part of my two bathrooms remodeling and utility / office lighting needs. He then came over one day soon after to review and make sure he understood what was needed. He then put together a bid and sent it to me via email. His wife was very helpful in coordinating the communications, scheduling and email. I had the following installed: two chandeliers, 4 can lights, 4 vanity lights with added wiring and elect. boxes, replacing of several switches, extending GFCI wiring to new locations, adding wiring for a new exhaust fan that had an additional light, adding timers and dimmers, replacing an exhaust fan with an upgraded fan that fit the same space as a builder grade fan since the space was limited, replacing electric outlets.I had purchased one of the coupons for 2 hrs of electrician's work from Angies List. I read some disappointing reviews, but there was some positive and Mike's wife, Debi, seemed to be getting the scheduling back on track after they were a little overwhelmed by the sudden demand for their services.
