ABF U-PACK MOVING

We used ABF U-Pack to move and as far as movers they provide trailer to fill and hired a local company that provides actual physical human movers called We Serve and they did a fantastic job. It was good. It all worked up very well with them. They all work up very well with them. They just provide the trailer and we loaded. We moved here three weeks ago. The move happened right after Christmas here. They show up on the time that they need to show up and pick it up. They are good. They are professional. Yes, we will use them again.

I cannot tell you how much we appreciated the kindness and professionalism of this company. They provided an accurate estimate. They put up with endless questions with humor and grace. They delivered the Relocube exactly when they said. The delivery manwas very helpful, explaining all the workings of the cube. Who knew there was more involved than opening and closing the doors. He gave me a quick talk on the best choices for padlocks and was on his way. They collected the filled cube the following day. We didn't need to be home, but they once again arrived promptly. The cube was delivered to my son 1,500 miles away exactly when he requested it. After emptying his belongings he called for pick up, and their east coast branch also arrived punctually. The costing was very clear. They were reassuring and truly helpful. They made a difficult situation easier and we couldn't have been more pleased. We would use them for any similar moving needs.

We had the hardest time deciding between full-service movers and self-moving with U-Box, and eventually found ABF-U-Pack through Yelp. The price for space on their trailer was much better than for U-Box, and you pay for each linear foot, so there's a much finer granularity than getting either two or three boxes. We called them short-notice and got the trailer delivered the next day. Yelp had a $50-off coupon, and getting the trailer on a Wednesday saved us another $50 since it's "off-peak", and the price includes having the trailer for three business days, so we had all weekend to pack it. In the end, we didn't finish packing it until early Tuesday morning but didn't get charged for the extra day. The trailer got picked up on Tuesday in NY and arrived on the following Monday in Austin, which worked out perfectly for us. We unloaded it during the week and had it picked up on Thursday, and again, the pickup was prompt. The ABF representatives that answered at the 1800 number, as well as those in the local NY and Austin offices and the drivers that dropped off the trailer (we didn't meet those that picked it up) were friendly and professional, and it was a good overall experience for us (in as far as moving in general can be considered a good experience).

Drivers were pleasant and helpful. Units were very clean.We rented the trailer truck where you pay only for the amount of space you use versus the little containers. We had to provide our own packing blankets (and boxes of course). Only issue we had was that they didn't deliver on weekend (even though the container had physically arrived it sat in a warehouse somewhere until Monday) due to union restrictions we were told. Come Monday they did deliver on time. Said they couldn't pick up trailer same day as delivery but fortunately they ended up doing so that evening because our apt complex had parking restrictions-for which we were grateful. They are pricey but we would use them again. Beats the alternative.

The movers on the Austin end were very good, professional, friendly and loaded the truck quickly. I was moving to a non-metropolitan area and ABF had not provided this service to the destination before - however they did make an extra effort and found movers to unload the truck. These movers were not as good at the ones in Austin, they were late, had trouble finding the destination (even had trouble locating the town). But the trailer was unloaded - there was some minor damage but I have never had a move whether one I did entirely on my own or by hire that did not include some damage. I chose ABF because they were much less expensive than traditional movers and also because they were able to schedule the move much more quickly than a traditional mover ( a matter of days rather than weeks). If you plan to load the trailer yourself - I would highly recommend this service over renting a truck and driving it to the destination - once you add the expense of fuel into the cost of a rental truck - the cost is about the same - and I only had to drive my vehicle to the destination rather than having to trailer it behind the rental truck. If I had it to do over again - I would have more carefully vetted the movers on both ends of the move to be sure I had some level of professionalism. My move was not flawless - but overall I was completely satisfied with the result.

Honestly, I don't remember the cost. I think it was about that. They were great. They dropped off the truck trailer. I hired local movers to move the contents of my one-bedroom house into the trailer. We locked it up, and they came and picked up the trailer the next day. About a week later, they delivered the trailer halfway across the country. They were right on time and flexible. Local movers unloaded the contents of the trailer, and we were done. It was really easy, very flexible, and much much cheaper than other moving companies.

U-Pack did a great job with moving our things. Their price was really good compared to other moving companies. They picked up our things a little later then expected but they delivered them on time. We had no surprises and I would recommend them to others in our community.
