Gary from Handyman Services is super nice and professional. Fantastic work. Fence looks great. He made sure I understood about the pricing, cleaned everything up before leaving, and double-checked the fence to make sure it was all good. I will definitely ask for him again. He is an asset to the company.

They always rush through the appointments. I think it would help if they slowed down and took their time.

I will be very brief. The technician came to the house at the appointed time and quickly went to work using proprietary pest control products within the home. Some areas, such as under cabinets, are hard to reach, but the technician found the gaps to insert pest control products. We had been experiencing a large number of spiders outside the house with a few inside. We also saw a few cockroaches of various sizes. Since the treatment, I have seen very few of each. There was one roach in the garage area and I saw a few right after treatment which appeared to be incapacitated by the treatment. The technician also inspected and repositioned the termite monitors since I had done some landscaping work recently. We previously had ABC perform termite treatment on our new home (under construction) as some activity was detected during the framing stage. Had the builder fulfilled my request for Termimesh (also offered by this same company), we would not have had to do that. However, I'm confident that the risk of termites is greatly diminished. They are active in my neighborhood and throughout many parts of Texas. After several experiences with ABC, I have been very satisfied with their work, including handyman services. They are prompt and efficient and often go above what is expected of them.

I have ABC service for a house in Austin and a house in Bastrop County. I'm very pleased with the services they've provided at both homes. They send an email and postcard advising of the service date. And, the same technician comes each time. They did return this last time to do the inside as a followup since we were out of town on our service date. We've used them in Austin for more than 2 years and in Bastrop for one year.

We had no lighting in the kitchen. It was a Saturday so there was a premium for the service, but we agreed to that. The service person from ABC was totally professional and even allowed me to learn the techniques he used. So, I can do do the job myself next time.

I had an estimate provided to conduct tree trimming on my property. The estimator gave me a price and said it would probably take a crew all day to complete the work. A two man crew showed up around 9:45am and were finished by 2:30pm. That doesn't seem like an all day job, but the work was completed to my satisfaction and the yard was cleaned up nicely. Several years ago I had the same company do a major clearing of my property and had the same tree trimming performed. I hired them by the day and paid around $3,000 for a three man crew for two days. That job took approximately 42 man hours (about $72/hr per man). The recent work was at a rate of around $130/hr per man. Other than the price, which I see other reviewers also feel is a little high, I am happy with the work performed; however I may have to open up a bidding process for the next time I need work done.

see above. We have used almost all the services offered with ABC and we are not impressed with any. We continue to use their pest service only because the turnover rate is low and the gentleman are professional. They are VERY expensive but we have experienced very poor service in this particular industry within the Austin region and ABC has done better than the rest in this field.

Richard is impeccable. He calls ahead, rings the doorbell, asks if there are issues, and then carries out his routine work on pest control. Since he's been helping us, we have had NO pest issues, and we had some before. When we were assaulted by acrobat ants, Richard responded quickly to our call for help. When he goes on vacation (well-earned, I'd say), he lets us know who will be filling in for him to alleviate any concerns. When we had mosquito issues, Richard referred us to ABC's mosquito control program which was also carried out professionally and very effectively. Their program management system is excellent -- give enough advance notice of a service visit to reschedule for our convenience. ABC may not be the cheapest, but they certainly get my vote for being reliable and delivering the service requested.

They are excellent. I am really happy with them. I had a quarterly and then we had a little mouse problem and they fixed it. We pay a quarterly cost. They need better mouse baits. We had used everything that they used and so, it took a while to catch the mice. The quality was great. They came back and did everything I asked for. They are friendly, courteous, and they answer questions intelligently. If I asked a dumb question, I wouldn't know it because they didn't go, 'Oh God!'

I have a dehumidifier connects to air handler/furnace in the attic, and a heat pump outside. the dehumidifier stopped working in april and i first went to precision heating. Precision heating charges $75 per trip and came to my house and told me that the motor is bad and needs to replace it... then a couple of days later, they told me that they couldn't find motor parts for repair everywhere..therefore i have to replace the whole dehumidifier system if i want it to work. I don't remember the exact price, but they told me it would be around $2600 including parts and labor to get a new dehumidifier. that was a lot of money... and I realized that my house is under 5 years old and the dehumidifier may be still under warranty. I went to the manufacturer website for my dehumidifier and found ABC home heating is one of the authorized providers. Therefore i called ABC, they sent technician Ken. Ken did a great job. He first found out a problem with motor, then read the manual and found out the parts was still under warranty. He spent 1 hour to help me to call the manufacturer and got the new motor part for me! Then he installed the motor for me once it arrives a week later. He saved me quite a lot of money. Also without his help, i won't know how to call manufacturer to order the correct motor part. Ken also helped me to go through the dehumidifier manual and understand how the settings work! Ken is very knowledgeable and did a great job!

We recently contracted ABC Home & Commercial Services to remodel a bathroom in our house. Tony Vasquez worked with us to come up with a plan that met our needs and fit our budget. The job included a new tub and shower, new toilet, new window, and new tile work. The ABC crew (Anthony Burks, Ron Burks, and Marshall Copeland) did a great job. The finished results look great, especially the tile work.

Robert came to our home to inspect our spa which had stopped working. Told us the circuit board needed to be replaced. We ordered the part ourselves and when it came in I called Robert and asked him whether or not I needed to contact the office to schedule an appointment. He said he would schedule it himself. When it took a number of days with no Robert, we contacted the office who contacted Robert and he was there that same day. Robert installed the new circuit board. I have no problem with Robert who is a a professional and does good work. The problem I had was with the cost of the service. I was expecting a bill of about $200 and it came it at $325. I have little idea how they figure out the time the job required but it might have been 2 -2 1/2 hour on the job. All labor, no parts. Needless to say I will take my business elsewhere in the future and avoid ABC.

The first technician left the house a mess, was condescending to my wife, and overcharged us - after paying the $150 emergency service fee, he charge $112 EACH to unplug 2 drain pipes off our attic evaporator unit which took a total of about 10 minutes to clean out both. Ridiculous. Since he also shared that he works on commission, I guess the exorbitant charges should have been expected. Next day, AC stops working, again - second technician shows up, not so rude, then identifies a possible leak in the outdoor unit. Said he called Lennox and checked and the unit was definitely out of warranty. Quote for $396 to leak check the outdoor and indoor coils ($198 EACH), and estimate of $6,000 if both were leaking. At this point we decided to review our other options. We had another contractor (A+ Energy Management) out to quote an entire new AC unit. They were surprised that my system, a Lennox XC-21 was out of warranty, so we called Lennox and checked - sure enough, Lennox could cover the coils under warranty. To double check they had one of their technicians out to leak check both of our coils - total $74 charge for BOTH (do the math - 80% less than ABC). They found leaks in both coils, showed me the evidence of same. We used them for the repair as well. Still pricey with R410A freon, but much, much cheaper than our estimate from ABC. I have used ABC for our plumbing, electrical, sprinkler system, and yard maintenance for years and have always received great, fairly priced service. I will NEVER use them for Heat/AC again, and am seriously reconsidering using them for anything again, ever. It is disappointing that these guys are likely continuing to get away with these unethical business practices. UPDATE: After posting my review I was contacted by the General Manager for ABC in Austin. He was very responsive, thoughtful, and I believe sincere in his desire to make this situation right. After meeting with me and my wife and discussing this entire situation to better understand our experience, he refunded every penny of our money from the above incident, as well as offering a year of AC routine maintenance checks gratis. He sincerely apologized for the behavior of his employees, and made no excuses. This is more the ABC I have come to expect over the years. I may or may not engage them on any Heating or AC in the future, but I will certainly continue to use them for other services.

We moved into our house last year, in July 2014. It was a newly built house, and the sod had just been laid, and a sprinkler system installed, with pop-up sprinklers in the back, and underground soakers in the front ? as is standard in our new community. In the fall, we contacted Chem-Free Lawn Services (owned and operated by ABC Home and Commercial Services) to provide us with weed control in our lawn. Chem-Free came out, did a complete assessment of our lawn, including running our sprinklers in the front and back to measure the water output for additional recommendations. Based on this assessment, we signed up with Chem-Free for their ?Turf Enrichment Program?, which only includes natural fertilizers, weed control, disease control, and insect control. Around February of this year, 2015, a man from ABC (the parent company), came to our door and asked if we had sprinklers in the front of our house, we said yes and asked ?why??? He advised us that he had just aerated the entire front lawn and damaged the soaker sprinkler system through the entire front. Now, this person never once knocked on our door to let us know he was performing this service, nor had we asked for, contracted for, or paid for this service. He advised us that he?d have to tell his supervisor what happened. ABC then came out a few weeks later, and tried to ?fix? the sprinkler system, after digging up the yard during rains and making a mess of the front lawn, he advised that it was too damaged to fix, and they?d have to just replace the entire sprinkler system. We weren?t happy, but we were cordial and as long as they fixed what they damaged, we were willing to work with them. Finally they came out and dug up and replaced all the soaker lines. This left large trenches of mud/dirt throughout our entire front yard including the new sprinkler tubes exposed through the yard ? our lawn, which was less than a year old. In March, we contacted them and spoke with their landscaping department, Alma, and were advised that they would take care of it, and that they were so sorry. We asked them to replace the sod and they agreed. I received an the following email ?Dear Mrs. Galiardi, I have scheduled you for 4/1/2015 for us to install sod in the trenched areas and bury the exposed drip irrigation. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you. Alma Acosta?. A week or so following, a person showed up from ABC (the same person who aerated our lawn causing all the damage). He had another person with him who was shoveling dirt out of the back of their truck. While the other person was doing this, he advised that they ?could? put down strips of sod in the trenched places, but that it would just dry up and die, and that it was much better to put down topsoil, and as long as we watered it, it would look just like ?new?. Since they obviously planned to do this anyway, since they showed up with soil only and no sod, and since he advised that it would look like new, we agreed, again giving them a chance to fix the problem. In April, we received a bill for $409.19 charging us for the topsoil. (After 2 requests, they finally got this straightened out and stopped billing this to our account). A couple weeks went by, and the yard still looked horrible, neighbors asking us ?what happened to your lawn??. In May, we called and again talked to Alma. She agreed that sod in the entire front lawn would be replaced at their cost, and that we were on the schedule for the first week of June. We have not seen or heard from them since. So, they aerated our lawn (a service which we never requested), without telling us about it ahead of time, when they had already done a sprinkler assessment and knew we had soaker sprinklers in the front, tried to ?band-aid? the problem several times, and I guess finally gave up. It should also be noted that the front yard is full of weeds, so they aren?t even fulfilling the contracted services we actually did pay them for?weed control. *** We also posted this review under Chem-Free Organic Pest and Lawn, since they are both owned and operated by the same person/company, and the problem is related to both companies ***

Chem-Free is associated with ABC, and they performed my pest control service. They did a great job. They were on time, professional and listened when I told them about certain problem areas. A great company, with great people. I will definitely use them again.

(See above) It went well. Name was Don. Was very talkative and safely friendly. He did his job, told me what I needed to do as far as my animals' safety was concerned after he'd treated the patio. Told me it wouldn't hurt the frog that lived on my porch. I relocated the frog anyway. We have had this service for about 2 years, and also used this ABC to determine and eliminate rodent entry points to our attic and garage. No problems since. We plan to continue the service, though I do think it is a bit expensive. I'm pretty sure, they will come out at no additional charge between your bimonthly visits, if you have an insect pest problem in the house or agreed upon outdoor area, possibly even beyond it.

They provide bug-control services and lawn services. They are wonderful, but they are expensive.

Our house was built in the 1980's with a synthetic exterior siding that was deteriorating over the years from water damage. The exterior of the house was in pretty bad shape. I called ABC Home and Commercial Services to see what could be done to repair the water damage and refresh the appearance of the house. Tony Vasquez, with ABC, worked with me to come up with a proposal that would address our needs and fit within our budget. The ABC crew who worked on this project - Ron Klier, Randall Wheats, Dan Burks, Patrick Murray and David Patterson - did a great job. They were polite and friendly, and it was obvious that they were all experienced, skilled craftsmen. Now that the project has been completed, our house looks great. We have the peace of mind knowing that the water damage has been mitigated, and that ABC will stand behind their work if any issues come up. We have been an ABC customer for many years for our lawn maintenance, pest control and plumbing, and now for our home improvements. I highly recommend ABC Home and Commercial Services.

We requested a service call on our 10 year old HVAC system to determine why the area was not being cooled. The technician came exactly as promised, diagnosed the problem and gave us several options to consider. We decided to go ahead and replace the system and he sent a sales person out the same day to work with us on choosing the correct system for the area. He was very through in explaining the differences in the systems and made sure we understood all of the capabilities of each system. We choose the high end system which was installed exactly as promised. The installers arrived as expected, were easy to work with and were careful to protect our home as they worked. When they left, everything was clean and all packing and installation materials were removed The company required 50% down but does not collect the remainder of the payment until a few weeks after the installation when they come back to check the unit to make sure everything is working correctly. This is rare in today's market. It makes you realize that they are professionals who care about the work they complete. ABC is not the cheapest company, but we are learning that "you get what you pay for". Our dealings with many other companies in the Austin area have left us frustrated when they don't provide the service as promised. We definitely recommend them to anyone who is willing to pay for quality service.

They ended up putting in a smaller wire gauge than was needed and about a year later they told me they couldn't do anything about it. They used a lighter gauge than they should have. We didn't have a problem with the machine and then a year later it broke down and when the electrician checked it out he told us that the machine was using the wrong gauge. So we called them.

very thorough. knowledgeable staff. clean, neat, personable. prompt, always called prior to vist. very satisfied . staff found leak in my roof and took pictures and allowed me to catch it before any damage done. another roofing company - one from Angies list - did the job from an Angies List coupon. the peace of mind from ABC is well worth the fee. i plan to renew annually for their maintenance plan.

Very professional. They arrived when they said and they cleaned up after themselves.

There were five or six workers. Our interaction with them was very good. They were very prompt. The project was completed a little later than the estimated time, but it went up to that. It was late for a week or two. We are using them for interior remodeling.
