+ -1 moreIt is hard to say. The last two years have been very h****** my yard with the drought and the water restrictions. I have lost St. Augustine almost totally in some areas and in other areas it has gotten very sparse. ABC did provide people to help talk to me about possible solutions -- pointing to the fact that I may be over watering some areas as evidenced by moss on the soil -- but even without watering that area -- I still have the moss issue as well as not having the St. Augustine return. In the area under the Oak tree where the St. Augustine has thinned considerably to leaving bald spots revealing dirt -- I have not seen much recovery as well.
Description of Work: Lawn turf enrichment -- which includes inspecting the lawn and providing fertilizer for both weed control and encouraging of grass growth.

+ -1 moreI called the company ----ABC Pest Control, whom are recognizable due to all their advertising, and who had a good Angie's List rating---- to come and inspect my attic, as we were hearing noises at night. A couple of days later (the animal still roaming around in the attic), there's a knock at the door. They sent someone (not the actual technician) to diagnose the problem, propose a solution and then give an estimate of the cost to fix the problem. This guy is a true salesman in the broadest sense (plus, brings a 'trainee" along ) and proceeds to set out "options" for dealing with this and any future problems pertaining to pest/rodent control. Why is it impossible to just get a straight answer----"How much to rid myself of this one raccoon and be done with it ?" But, it's not that easy. They throw out all the "yearly maintenance guarantee" bs, and then say it's your only option. Next, they made another appointment for the technician to come over (the animal is still roaming around in my attic). He arrived, figured out it was a raccoon, sealed the obvious hole in a screen that it had entered through, and set a trap. They came back to check the trap each day and when the animal hadn't been caught, they just kept coming back ----someone different each time----for 4 days. Well, by the fourth day we weren't hearing noises anymore. I thought the raccoon had died and was going to be stuck between the rafters, decomposing and----the rest. Turns out the raccoon busted out a vent and went on his way. They packed up their trap, shrugged their shoulders and handed me an invoice for $575.00. I later found out that I could have used another company for about $100--$150. That's what happens when you trust the first guy you call and don't do your homework first.
Description of Work: Diagnosed the cause of a noise in my attic, and then set a trap to catch a rodent.

+ -1 moreABC Home & Commercial Services plumber was great. Everything was resolved. The biggest thing that I was very happy about was very clean. I was very concerned when he fix the leak and clean the sewage line of the bathroom which I am concerned about the mess. The plumber even manage to clean the entire line not through the toilet but the usual way of doing it and through the vent line which essentially I had no dirty equipment through my house at all and that was impressive. The highlight is that the staff is very professional. He did a great job. He explained everything in layman's term , very knowledgeable. He respect the owner of the house i.e. he took off the shoes when he came in so I am extremely impress. The schedule and timing is right as well as the paperwork. Everything was taken care off from the beginning till end. Also the bid was extremely competitive.
Description of Work: I used ABC Home & Commercial Services for plumbing service. I have to replace my garbage disposal in the kitchen and then also had a bathtub problem in my guest bathroom especially the sewage line where waste water and excrement conveyed in sewers. I also used their services in the past wherein they replaced essentially the entire A/C package system so my vent, the outside union condenser, the inside union thermostat and everything and water heater.

+ 0 moreYeah, its a lot work going on that time and I feel like the entire house emergency all happened at the same time. I think the highlight of that was that the entire team of the project was great. They are very professional. The bid was great. He explained everything thoroughly and very knowledgeable. He took off his shoes when he came in so I was extremely impress. The scheduling, the timing and everything was laid out with the paperwork. Everything was taken care off from the beginning till end. The rebate are taken cared off and the bid was extremely competitive. These people, the whole team work past 5 o'clock and work till 7 PM. It means they take extra time and dedication to their job. Basically the grass-roots was I really impress with their work ethics and this is the reason why I choose them again to do the plumbing job.
Description of Work: I have a big project in the past and I used ABC Home & Commercial Services for heating and A/C service. The biggest housework I had done in the past one year I replace my entire A/C package vent system. They replaced essentially the entire A/C package system so my vent, the outside union condenser, the inside union, thermostat and everything and also water heater.

+ -1 moreNoticed a smell emanating from the fireplace and couldn't find the source. Called up ABC and they had someone there within two hours. Technician found the rodent had squeezed it's way between the chimney and protective cover, which is a highly inaccessible place. He tried removing it but, due to the inaccessible location and state of the rodent, was unable to. Since we didn't want to tear apart the walls to get access, option 2 was to mask the smell and live with it for a week. A small amount of masking agent was provided. He also added an additional screen to the chimney so no more rodents could get in the area.
Description of Work: Attempted removal of dead rodent and screening off of chimney.

They answer any questions you have. They really are very courteous. When they come insides the house, they usually wear little booties over the shoes. I am satisfied with them and I would recommend them. Their prices are very reasonable.
Description of Work: We use ABC Home & Commercial Services for pest control. We have them come in quarterly inside the house and outside for pest control and they do our termite control. They come every quarter to check the termite traps.

Personnel from ABC also made several follow-up contracts to insure that everything was working properly, and that we were satisfied with the equipment and service. We would highly recommend this company for A/C service, and would recommend them for consideration for other service that they provide. We also use them for pest control, and we are quite satisfied with those services.
Description of Work: ABC replaced the compressor unit on our central air conditioning system, and made improvements to ducting system to improve air handling and heating/cooling of a problem room at no extra cost.

+ -1 morethe inspector did notice droppings that the home inspector didn't see. the inspector did put alot of fear in the conducive environments for termites/pests but no actual pests were seen. The estimates where quite expensive and built around having to pay them monthly with them guaranteeing their work. Which their first spraying will probably do the trick and but you will end up paying periodically forever.

The team arrived on time, did a very thorough job, and cleaned up completely when done. They were a little on the high side based on other estimates I got for the job, but not significantly. They did a better job than other tree services I have used in the past that charged less, so the extra was worth it.
Description of Work: I had ABC do their standard tree trimming service, which includes raising the canopy, trimming the dead branches, and trimming back from the house.

Description of Work: There was evidence of a rat or squirrel in the attic problem we noticed after a security camera with wires in attic did not work. Wires were chewed in the attic and an expensive camera ruined. Also, when my husband was checking in the attic, a squirrel poked it's head through an opening by an attic vent, as he tried to come back to his new home in the attic. It also appeared that the rodent problem (squirrel or rat) was probably responsible for eating phone wires in the summer though we had not blamed it on critters at the time. That had required my husband running new phone lines -- expense and inconvenience. I wanted to be really sure the squirrel or rat problem was totally fixed so I phoned ABC on Saturday when I got a polite and responsive woman who scheduled an appointment for an estimate on Monday. I asked about any "discounts" and the rep mentioned that there was a $50 coupon in the back of the Yellow Pages phone book. A competitor quoted me a price of $375, but the competitor was a small operation and I was not convinced that he would have the manpower to come back and forth on schedule the way ABC probably would. The ABC with coupon was $400 including tax for a complete squirrel (or rat) elimination out of the attic which was done through putting out rat traps and a two cages in case of a squirrel as the squirrels don't go to rat traps. The price included sealing various other small openings through which a critter could have come through. Despite my husband being quite handy, the ABC folks were more thorough than my husband. The ABC folks had to come back various times to check on the traps as it is against the law to leave a critter inside a trap without checking daily. There were a total of five visits to the house plus the initial estimate visit -- all included in the $400 price and every time the folks were totally punctual and often they narrowed the time even better than the agreed upon two hour window. The service included a one year warranty against any kind of critter getting in the house. Though we never trapped any critter, it appears that the squirrel that had been in the attic was never able to get back in, so I'm happy with the results. My only regret is that I did not know enough to phone ABC when the phone wires went out and there was evidence of rat or squirrel droppings in the attic and we ignored it, so it then cost us a lost security camera.

Description of Work: rodent control: we live in a wooded area and had a big problem with rodents getting into the house. they came out twice to seal up possible entry areas, bated outdoor traps that would not harm plants and old fashion rat traps in the attic. They come out evey 3 ,months and rebate the traps for around $60 . We know they will never get all of them as we live in a wooded area and just want control so they will not get in the house again. I have been very pleased with the service and highly recomend them.

For the ENTIRE time we have requested to receive only Saturday appointments and for 6 years we have had to reschedule EVERY SINGLE APPOINTMENT they have every made for us. Given that it was only 4 times a year, I just let it go. For 5 years that was my only real complaint. Recently we got a new technician who for starters found it amusing to make insulting comments at 8am because I answered the door in my PJs. Yeah, it?s Saturday at 8am. I?ve got clothes on. I am paying you, not the other way around. Deal with it. The technician then SOAKED my house in pesticides. I know you think I must be exaggerating, but I can assure you I am not. It was literally dripping off the blinds and pooling on our wood floor. After cleaning up what I could I had to leave the house because of the smell. The subsequent quarter a technician came on Saturday morning, after calling to request such, and never knocked on the door to do the indoor portion of our treatment. How do I know this? Because I was awake, and fully dressed to avoid any further judgment, and saw the truck parked outside. When I called the main office to complain, they told me that the technician knocked and we didn?t answer. It?s a tough thing to call someone a liar, but well?I was there. They came back the subsequent Saturday and again put out so much bug spray that I again spent my Saturday cleaning up after them. This time I took pictures so there would be no debate. I will try to attach them to this review if possible. Thank goodness we don't have any pets or children because it was all over the house. I called to cancel and they assured me a Manager would call me back regarding my complaint. I haven't heard a peep.

Description of Work: I had been having problems with my AC & furnice. When it finally quit completely, I called ABC. The people on the phone were very courteous. They could not come out untl the next day. George, the tech, was vry friendly and found the problem quickly.I had to have the board replaced. He had to go get a part, but was able to turn on the AC while he was gone. The price was expensive, but probaably not out of line. .

+ -1 moreI have used them for several years. Their price is okay. They just got really sloppy. I find that when I use somebody for too long, they take it for granted. They are pretty regular and good about coming out. They come out on a regular day unless the weather prevents them. I will keep using them until I get a replacement for them.
