The experience was pretty good. They were prompt and professional. They dealt with the issue. We had a raccoon family in our chimney. They dealt with it in a humane and clever way. Basically they put coyote urine around the top of the chimney. It scared the racoons enough that they left during the night and never came back.

I have had a little bit of trouble with them. I have had a rodent problem and they came to the area to set traps and then I kind of got left in the dark. They said that they would set traps and they did set traps but I still had a problem. I kept saying that, "I still have a problem. You have to do something." So finally, I threw a temper tantrum and in this case I really needed to. I said, "You have to find out where they are coming from. You are not getting rid of them. It is not happening. You just have to do something about it." So, they probably did a smoke test and basically the rats were not coming from that area so they finally found out where they were coming from. We are still trying to get rid of them and they are still setting traps and the rats are not going to the traps so we are taking it into our own hands because they are not doing anything bigger than that. Once I threw my temper tantrum, they were very responsive but I had to throw a temper tantrum to get them to respond. Each time that they came, they promised me that this would be done and this would be done but it never happened until I said, "Wait a minute. You guys have to do it now." And then I had the manager and several other people come down. I had like five people here. They have always been very punctual. They have not been late at all and I have called them several times. I am going to use them until I get rid of everything and then maybe I would continue to use them but not necessarily. I might look into other places first.

They completely checked out unit, vent, filters, insulation and attic. Gave me great advice to save money and got my air running . Thank you for the wonderful service. We will use again.

Excellent...they are coming back to life now.

I signed a contract for Rodent Control which is a 3 year contract. They came out one day and set the traps in the attic. About 5 days later they came out and checked the traps. One roof rat was caught. They came out 2 more times to inspect the traps, but no more rodents were found. During the next 3 years, if I have any more problems with rodents, I can call them to come out again. They were somewhat flexible to work around my schedule. The guys who came out were friendly and efficient. The main thing that surprised me is that the contract is for 3 years. I would have preferred a 1 year contract.

I used them for pest control since early 1980s for the yard and the house. I have them come out every three months. Obviously I like them I’ve been with them that long. They are willing to come out any time that I have flea, ants or roaches or anything they will come out and treat the area and checking the yard and they usually treat the outside of the house if there is any ant problems and they tell me if I need to trim back any plants near the house that kind of thing. They are just very professional, very courteous. They always put on these little booties before they come in the house so they won’t track anything in the house. I remember one time he was checking around with a flashlight around the baseboards and he accidentally knocked over a chic vase and it broke and the look on that poor man’s face that he had broken the main laws or something and he brought it to me and he said I going to have to call my supervisor and let him know that I broken this and I am so sorry and he will search a replacement and pay you for any. I can’t remember what he said but anyway and I said you have been always so careful and so good and I said don’t be worry about it. He was taking pictures of it where it was and everything. You just would have thought it was the end of the world but he was so concerned. They are just that way. They are just very, very nice. He could have left it there and I never would have known the difference but I just really like their professionalism. I would give them “As”. I hate to be a broken record but I would not have used them for 30 years if I didn’t really like them. I can always get them to come within the two-hour window if I’ve got a tight schedule and they are always very prompt.

I've used ABC and Chemfree for many years and have always been pleased with their service. In this case their representative was extremely helpful, did a thorough inspection of the attic and explained what needed to be done.

We have used ABC for years in Austin for lawn/yard work and pest control. We continue to use them at our new home in Georgetown for lawn/yard, pest control, irrigation inspection/service and A/C and heating work. Great employees and service just occasionally difficult to get them to respond to communication via e-mail, so just call instead.

It went well enough, they only came to check the traps 3 x total, they said they do that much more often.

Everything went well. After they started spraying we saw a reduction in bugs, including sugar ants. When ever we saw them again they would come out in between quarterly sprays at no charge.

The people at ABC are very good. Great attitude and service ethic. The one issue that we had was that the chemical used to treat our house was not very effective on spiders. ABC would always come back to retreat (at no additional charge) but additional treatments were required a number of times.

I like the service people they send. The send the same guy every time and they come back as they need to if the weather is bad.

Moderately. I had hoped for more of the dead small branches would be clean out. Admittedly they were in very high branches and may have resulted in a higher cost.

Squirrells made a home in my attic. ABC responded well and repaired the roof as needed. I need to have the house re-roofed and called them several times for an estimate. I am still waiting for them to call back.

The Thursday before Christmas (on a Tuesday), with family coming into town on the weekend, I noticed water pooling around the corner of my house near the street. Thinking it was my sprinkler system leaking, I called ABC to find and fix the leaking pipe. They sent out a sprinkler technician on Friday afternoon. In 35 degree weather, he spent about an hour and dug down to locate the source of the leak - my main city water feed into the house had separated where the PVC and metal came together. At that point, he said that he was not qualified to make the repair, as it would require a licensed plumber. I called ABC again, and they said they had no more appointments available that day, and none until after Christmas. I explained my situation - family coming into town, and couldn't imagine what we would do without water for 4 days, much less on Christmas. The dispatcher said she would call and see if she could get anyone to work some overtime that day. Meanwhile, the sprinkler technician had cleaned up the mud and whatnot the best that he could. He apologized for the inconvenience and asked me to sign his work order. I was very pleasantly surprised when he totaled up the service call at $0 - he said he couldn't charge me anything in good conscience because he could not complete the repair (despite over 90 minutes of work in the mud, water, and 35 degree temps). I called 2 other plumbers, but got no response, or a "sorry, nothing we can do until after Christmas". I was starting to panic, when ABC called me back and said a plumber could be there in 15 minutes if I was willing to pay 50% premium for overtime. 'Nuff said, they came and the job was done, and cleaned up pretty well, after an hour.

Everything turned out good I hope. I would absolutely use them again.

I had the entire house filled and then they laid out traps and this is the first time to check and they will come back on more time. It is actually working. I like that they are very diverse. It's a one stop place and they are fairly reasonable, they are competitive.

This was high-quality work, and it looks great. The fence looks almost new: no rust, no squeaks, beautiful finish. The contractor discovered some rot on the deck while power washing. This was repaired. There was an additional cost, but it was quite reasonable for the work. I have absolutely no doubt that the rot was real. He showed me the hidden damage. The deck is now solid when I walk on it, and it looks great. The seal is repelling the water quite well. I'm quite happy with the results.

This is a difficult review to write. I've had some really bad experiences with painters before, and comparatively, this was almost good. I have also found ABC quite good in other areas. However, I can't in good conscience give a fully positive review. The CONs They significantly underestimated the work. I mean by more than half. They under-delivered on resources. The job was bid with my understanding that there would be at least 4 people every day. Most days, there was only 1. Add that to the underestimated work, and the job seemed never-ending. They changed who was assigned the job several times during the job. This may not sound like a problem. However, I had to go through instructions multiple times. The inevitable did happen; mistakes were made. Despite my having floors covered with dirty paper for weeks, they still got and left dripped paint on the floors and cabinetry. They tend to bid higher in price than competitors. In return, I've always expected exemplary performance and quality. This time, not so much. (This comment applies generally to services from ABC. This was my first using interior painting.) The PROs I got the paint I contracted. Okay, that sounds like a no-brainer. I can't tell you the number of prior contractors who have tried to substitute a low-quality paint and pocket the difference. This is really significant. To the most part, they stood behind their agreement. Many other contractors would take shortcuts or cheat the edges when they so badly over promised. There were some areas with which I am definitely unhappy, to be sure. Overall, however, they did complete the job. Again, that's really important and rare in my experience They also repainted the areas where the put the wrong color. ( Aside: I mentioned some of the areas they missed on the contract in the CONs. Another was that they talked me out of painting all of the closet interiors completely. It was my choice in the end, but I'm still unhappy that I've got to finish the job. None of this changes that they did actually stand behind their work.) When they broke a light fixture, they called an electrician to repair it without charge--or even my having to mention it. They had 3 people out on a Sunday to try to get closer to schedule, because I had other commitments coming. I really appreciated this, especially when I never asked. By and large, the house looks good. This was not a simple job. I had multiple colors on the same surfaces in some areas, accent walls, lots of higher-gloss trim, and closets. The young man who wrote up the contract was quite knowledgable of his products. He did a great job of helping me understand how the gloss differences and colors would look. Those chips never really look quite like the real thing, do they? I really liked the two senior painters, personally and professionally. I always felt safe with them in the house. They also were pretty self-sufficient, letting me work while they did, unless they had a specific question. It was also fun listening to them mentor some of the younger staff. They are fully insured, and their employees got through security checks. Don't underestimate the importance of this! Summary It's difficult for me to know whether I'd use ABC for interior painting again. I would probably "shop the contract" next time. That said, I still respect the company. In fact, they will be helping me with a minor remodel of the utility room in early 2014.

Got rid of a field rat and sealed my home against more rats and I purchased a yr. guarantee.

They have fantastic customer service. I use them frequently. They come every two months for maintenance. I would recommend them to anybody.

The work went well. They came one day to estimate the work, came next day to do the job, adjusting their schedule to mine which caused them to stay later than normal to finish the job. The job was made easier in that the tank is located in the stairwell from the garage to the first floor of my house, not in an interior closet or in an attic. This also made it easier to get the drain from the "leak pan" to the outside of the house. They did not take the drain through my siding but down under the house (pier and beam) and out through an existing vent (they made this look good by putting a colllar around the PVC pipe on the outside of the vent). This was at my request (insistance). They did all that is necessary to pass City of Austin inspection (yet to be done). The final price was the estimated price and was comparable to the one other price I had gotten. It was more difficult than I thought to get someone over to do this job.

ABC was fantastic. Very responsive, professional, and detail oriented. They looked over the entire house, inside and out, and found evidence of pest activity and many places where the pests could come in. We have a three story house with a very steep roof and they sealed every single one of our roof openings from the roof, all openings from inside, and all side openings. I am very picky and they even came back and fixed some caulk that I didn't like. Supervisors came and checked all work. Great experience, would use them again.

I think the attic was sufficiently sealed but the worker left fairly large pieces of cut flashing around the outside of the home and pool area. This created a sloppy look but also a hazard especially by the pool where people walk barefoot.
