The technician was supposed to diagnose a major water leak on a 10-year-old dishwasher. He opens up the bottom but then decides not to run the water, saying he didn't want it to leak. I thought that was the whole point ? to identify the leak. He then told me he was in a rush and that it?s the pump. To the best of my knowledge, leaks can be from pumps, seals, floats, heating elements, blower diffusers, overfilling, water and drain hoses, gaskets, inlet valves, or any number of other things. I know they call themselves A-Appliance EMS, but how about ESP in place of EMS for extrasensory prognosis? He then tells me that the damage around the cabinet that the water caused was something he had never seen before. He's never seen a major water leak cause wood damage at the bottom of a cabinet before? I had no idea we were so special. When I asked for his name, he threw a business card on the table and said: "It's on there." I guess he was in too much of a rush to actually tell me his name. Friendliness?--Not! Finally, I expressed concern about whether this dishwasher would continue to be a problem, given its age, wear and tear (dishwashers typically last 10-12 years), and the fact that we had it inspected and were told that once it starts needing repairs to just get a new one. He retorted, "I have to be HONEST.? I think he meant that he had to tell the home warranty company he could repair it, but was he being honest that we?d get a lot more life out of a substandard 10-year-old dishwasher that came with the house? We decided to buy a new one rather than throw money at it or at him, not that we would ever have this company back again for any appliance repair. (Sidebar: we couldn't find a single listing anywhere for this company.) We've had very good experiences so far with all our other service/technician people, so this was the exception. "Honestly."
