When I signed up there they gave me a free hour of service. They guided me on things that I should do. My last visit was about a week ago and I usually go twice a week. The facility is clean and the equipment seems to be in good shape and in good supply.

They have a clean facility with plenty of equipment. They have a good staff and the trainers are good. Whenever you first join they have trainers that walk you through and give a cursory training session. They showed me how to use the equipment and what it is used for. They try to determine by my age and fitness, for weight and reps. sometimes if the equipment breaks done it takes them a long time to fix it. I will continue to use them. Based on the individual trainer I had, the communication was excellent. I go in there and do my thing and leave.

About 10 years ago there was a promotion at 24 hour fitness to increase membership, I registered myself and my wife, and we have been members ever since. After 3 years, the yearly fee was greatly reduced, and we have remained members ever since. I have used the trainers only a few times over the years, but when I needed them, they were very professional and were able to provide good direction and advice. I feel they have a very nice pool, but in the past, their exercise equipment left a lot to be desired. They have updated their equipment and added more of the popular machines. The facility has always been clean and met my needs for exercise. I especially like using a fingerprint to enter the club rather than a card. It seems like the card was always on my dresser when I wanted to use the facility.
Description of Work: Regular exercise.

I started going to 24-hour fitness because my health insurance offered a and quot;dealand quot; through this gym. After that insurance expired, I was able to change my membership to a Silver Sneakers membership through Medicare. I took advantage of a special and got one-on-one training for 4 weeks and that got me motivated to join some of the classes. The trainer and staff were all very nice and helpful and the facility that I frequent is mostly clean. I go to the club on Research near Hwy 620 because of the convenient location to my home and it has a pool for water aerobics. Unfortunately, this facility has had two non-functioning showers in the women's dressing room since I started going there. They have four wall-mounted blow dryers (two mounted up high to dry your hair) and no paper towels. Another club that I used to be a member of had spin dryers for your wet suits, hair dryers, paper towels, cloth towels for members so this was quite a let down. This gym doesn't even offer paper towels to dry your hands. No extras here - no hair dryers, spinners to take the water out of your swim suit or towel. If you can remember to bring your plastic bag to put your wet garments in and don't mind a bare-bones gym, the cost is right for older adults. I will continue to use this gym because of the convenience and the fact that they offer the Silver Sneakers program. The staff are nice and cooperative, which overcomes some of the other deficits.
Description of Work: I wanted to have access to a gym at a reasonable price and that would allow me to work out with other people in a similar age bracket and fitness level.

I mostly go to classes. After going to a class a few times, you begin recognizing people, and some community and friendships can develop. The classes are inspiring and energetic. The instructors show variations of the exercises for advanced and less advanced students, but the instructors are very fit and tend to do the advanced exercises. There are not many classes for especially for Seniors, but there is an aqua aerobics class at both gyms that is part of the and quot;Silver Sneakersand quot; series. Other classes seem to be geared toward working people in their 30s-40s, because that is the age of the class instructors, but there are plenty of younger and older people in the classes. I ride a bicycle and figured I'd enjoy the spinning class, but it was too hard for me! The instructor didn't mind that I couldn't keep up, and others couldn't keep up, either. That's in the nature of the classes. You have to keep your wits about you and just work at your own level. The instructors mention that, but then they work hard and encourage the class to work hard. But there is a mix of people of fitness levels in the classes. I like the Les Mills Body Pump class and the Yoga classes. There is a Yogalates class at the SuperSport that has a half hour of Yoga and then a half hour of Pilates. I don't know whether other gyms offer this class or whether the particular instructor is the only one who teaches it. Sometimes there is something broken, and I notice it doesn't get fixed for a long time. A hair dryer disappeared from the SuperSport and never got replaced, though there are still 2 of them there. There is a stall in the ladies restroom with a lock that has been broken for about a year. A shower door was broken and got fixed. The pool at the Sport got a new heater recently. So, they do their maintenance, but there is a lot to take care of. I have not noticed any machines out of order. I enjoy these gyms a lot, and I have become stronger and healthier because of them!
Description of Work: Our health insurance offered us a deal for a low monthly fee at 24-Hour Fitness. A few months later, the insurance and 24-Hour stopped their connection, but we loved the gym, and the gym let us stay for an extra $5/month. Some of their prices seem high, if you don't have a deal with insurance or get a special price. They run all kinds of specials often, so look for them on their website or call and ask. There are 2 gyms near us: a Sport and a SuperSport. The SuperSport is fairly new and very nice. It has an indoor pool for laps and classes and a lovely big outdoor pool open during warm weather for families, with a big water slide. There are 2 kinds of strength machines - one kind is stationary, and the other moves with you. I like the ones that move with you. I have had trouble using machines, because I am only 5'1" tall, but a lot of the machines at this gym work for me. There are a lot of free weights and pulleys. Lots of equipment for all kinds of uses, balls, balancing tools, mats, elastic bands, etc. There are a lot of treadmills, elliptical machines of different kinds, and stair-stepping machines. A lot of these have built-in TVs you can plug your headphones into, and there are also TVs hanging all around the machines. This is a large gym, with a big room for exercise classes. There is a room with a lot of stationary bikes, with computers, for classes. There is always music, and always lots of staff dressed in red shirts, and always people cleaning and taking care of the pools or machines. The SuperSport has towels, too. Very helpful! The Sport is smaller and doesn't have towels. It doesn't have the line of machines that move with you, but it has a full line of machines and lots of free weights and a pulley machine. It has plenty of equipment for all needs. I used a stair-stepper there, but I don't know what other machines for aerobic fitness it has, but there are a bunch. It has a room for spin classes and another room for Body Pump and other exercise classes. The schedule has just a few classes, but some are excellent. I go to 2 classes at this gym regularly because they are good classes and I have made friends in them. Both gyms have a hot tub with jets, a dry sauna (I guess all saunas are dry), and a steam room. Truthfully, I would never have joined if it weren't for the hot tub, and I rarely skip going in there after a workout! You can get private fitness sessions, and they often have special deals that reduce the prices.

I've been a member for over 7 years. I paid I really good price for a 3 year membership and the yearly renewals after that have been very inexpensive. It's not the shiniest gym there is, but it's clean enough, it's convenient and the staff has always been friendly to me, in particular the Cycling class instructors. They have tons of equipment and machines as well as a fairly large pool. For me 24 hour is perfect for what I'm looking for in a gym and it's a great deal for the money. I finally got my wife to agree to join so I got her the $350 two year deal from Costco. She has nothing bad to say about the gym, and she's a really picky person :)

They are conveniently located. It is hot over there. They do not have the air conditioner fixed there properly. We have had people quit because of it.

I signed up a long time ago for a 3 year deal; now it costs me about $25 yearly to renew. It is a big gym and is open 24 hours daily. It has weights and machines and I like it that they have lots of free classes. I will use them again in the future.

I had a locker set up with them and they ended up cutting the lock off because they did not realize it was still being rented out. When they did this my gym bag was taken. They did give me 2-3 months of free rental and place a handicapped sticker to remind me of where my locker is locked at. This was nothing in comparison to what was taken though. I had previously also purchased 30 personal training session which was not cheap, I would have figured they would have treated me better. I believe they are under new management since I originally signed up.

They are very clean. The attendants are really friendly and the instructors are pretty good. The yoga classes are particularly good. I like that they are always open and they have a great pool. I get a discount so I think price is amazing. For both my husband and I it's $54 a month.

My physical therapist referred me to them. I was there last week. They have an aqua workout and the instructor is very motivating. You have fun doing it. I had to cut back on it because it was too robust for me and affected my recovery. As soon as I can I'm going to be doing it full force. He is very considerate that students in his class do have different physical needs. He's very mindful without being patronizing. Another thing that stands out about them is that the whole fitness center is well laid out. It doesn't take you to any unnecessary areas as the only thing I can do is the pool because of my condition. I don't have to go through everything; I can take the short cut from the pool directly back into the dressing room. The layout is very time efficient for individual needs. It's a heavenly experience. They do not use chlorine for the pool. It's just water, air and salt. It's a life saver for my medical condition. It's not heavy chlorine; they definitely are tuned in to the health benefits of not using heavy chlorine. They will send you emails and notices with special offers as well as classes. They got a really good website. They make their communication accessible anywhere you are according to whatever electronic means you've got. They also have it set up to make it really easy to pay them every month. You have options on how you're going to pay. They are very customer oriented which I really like about them. It's the first time I've stuck with a plan where even the other fitness centers were unable to keep me motivated enough to keep coming back for longer than three months. My therapist told me in March that I could start on my own. I've been going back a few years and this is the first time I have been motivated.

The gym offers multiple unique experiences for working out. Although the building is not as new as many others, the people and services make up for what is missing in "new". The equipment remains in generally excellent repair with few closures. The classes are free to members and worthy of a person's time. At one point there were a rash of car break-ins and my purse was stolen from my vehicle. However, I clearly did not follow their initial advise to lock all personal belongings in a locker. Security in the area is not as good as one would hope but following common-sense suggestions is important. The staff are part of a community who gets to know the gym members on a first name basis and it becomes a setting where "everybody supports you" in what you want to achieve.
Description of Work: I have been using fitness trainers at 24 Hour Fitness for the past 2.6 years and have had only one disappointment. I immediately asked for another trainer and have always been satisfied. As indicated, I spent a large sum of monies, but this involves almost 3 years of training. The workouts are individualized to meet my personal and individual needs. There are no limits to the results a person can experience, depending on the amount of energy and work that one is willing to invest in the trainer's suggestions and efforts. There are always introductory opportunities at this gym that allow an individual to select and "bond" with a trainer. Trainers are both male and female and have varying levels of certifications. It is always good to meet and interview a few trainers to identify one that will work well with you personally, but this gym is excellent in meeting the needs of their customers. You are invited to develop a training program that works for you personally and in combination with good nutrition you will find an equivalent amount of success.
