2 painters showed up as promised. Company had called ahead and met with us to go over the project. Would recommend them.

It was pretty good but not perfect. I was very happy with the service and I was very happy with the way the management handled things. The workers at times weren't very neat. They should put down tarps and they didn't do as promised. I had to call them back and they came back and cleaned up. The service part of it and the management part of it was so outstanding that it kind of wipes out the sloppiness of them.

Excellent quality work. I will never use any other company.

It worked out well. They did what seems to be quality work and they're very attentive. They were the best price I've got.

They were polite, friendly and cleaned up well after themselves. It was a 2-day job and we were very pleased with their work.

They were very good. Our experience with them was all positive. He actually replaced several of the exterior panels that we have on the house. Two people came and did the painting. They were wonderful and they cleaned up so wonderfully. We have had a lot of work done and this was the first time someone put back whatever they moved. They cut limbs of the trees that were against the house and hauled them away. They were very neat. Gary, the owner came and did the estimate. He was the nicest guy in the world. He was one of those people that we feel that we have known them all our life. I have already recommended them to several other people.

I purchased 8hrs. of labor to have the baseboards, trim & doors painted. When i called to schedule this work to be done I inquired about other work 21st Century offers. In short, he came over to assess additional painting & roof repair. He promised to have his quotes to me that Thurs. evening. I never heard from him; I called him 4 days later. He said he was still getting his bids together. 2 days later he emailed be his quotes. After his lack of communication & professionalism I became skeptical and gave the work to another contractor. I asked Gary to contact me to schedule the work I'd purchased through Angie's. Never heard back. i again emailed him to which 2 days later he replied he was working on his schedule and he'd get back to me, At least this is one thing he's consistent about - disappearing. Having yet to hear from him I do not trust that the quality of work would be acceptable or even completed.

I actually purchased this coupon about a year and a half or longer ago. Life got in the way and I couldn't use it. I actually bought it for trim work. I contacted 21st Century Painting and he told me that he wanted to honor the coupon and that instead of trim, he would send 2 painters for 4 hours (I had purchased 1 painter for 8 hours) and that they would paint my kids bedrooms during that time. The guys showed up on time and went right to work. They did an excellent job and, even though it took a little longer, they were super nice about it and took their time and were fantastic!. They even replaced the outlet covers for me. They removed all their garbage and cleaned up. It was amazing. I need more things painted and I will surely call them!!!

They arrived when they said, and stayed until the job was completed. I was impressed by the professional way they conducted business. The crew worked hard and did everything we asked. There were no surprises. As they were painting, we discovered a wall with some sheetrock damage. They gave me a fair estimate and repaired that also adding a day to the job completion. Upon completion they walked us through the home, and made any little changes we requested. I would definitely use them again.

They were very professional. Arriving on time every day. Making sure everything was securely covered. Cleaning up and moving furniture back in place before leaving, so we could go on with our lives in the evening. We had some pretty servere crackes in our ceiling that they fixed. They did a great job repairing them. We are pleased with the outcome of our association with this company. We have several friends that have requested the name and number of this company, 21st Century. Kip, our contact person, was very helpful when he came to do the walkthrough and give us an estimate. He made good suggestions that helped us make decisions concerning this project. We got a $200 discount because we got their name from Angie's List.

They were very reasonably priced. They were very nice and they did a great job. The only negative was that they would only work for a couple of hours a day. So it kind of dragged out for a couple of weeks. They didn’t get the job done real quickly. They were very polite

Our new (1927) bungalow had a sad, sagging dining room ceiling and our realtor (Mr. 5-star Mark Strub) recommended we just yank it out and start over. After some drama initially picking and then running away from a less expensive option, we thankfully hired 21st Century, who had given us the highest bid. Why on earth did we pick the highest bid? Because: * They provided the most detailed, thoughtfully considered bid. When Kip inspected the room he immediately could tell we had structural issues and he covered unknowns in his bid. We knew we weren't going to get gouged later; the worst-case was already laid out in the bid. * They were motivated to do whatever it took to get it right in the limited time we had before move-in. * They offered some shortcuts (like caulking the ceiling/wall seams), but readily agreed to do it the old-fashioned way and did a good job of it. The 21st Century crew shored up our sagging ship-lap ceiling and did a decent initial job of dry-walling it, but since we requested no texture at all, a few flaws were obvious. Gary inspected the problem right away and agreed that it wasn't good enough. Their 2nd crew worked extra hours to re-float the whole ceiling and get it right - hours before we moved in! We were also pleased with the quality/frequency of communication with both Kip and Gary; these guys are professionals and are a pleasure to have in your home. We'll very likely hire 21st Century again when we tackle the next room!

I emailed to claim my deal. They were able to schedule the work less than a week. They called the day before to confirm and showed up right on time. We wanted the baseboards painted, and they came out great.

I purchased a Big Deal coupon for 21st Century Painting & Roofing. In the deal, it was booked for 8 hours for a professional painter and that's not a problem with us. They did that. Because of the area of what it was gonna be, the owner who I talked to who set it all up had 2 painters that came for 4 hours. This was also fine for us because of the limited area that I was looking at and I did not figure that it would take a long time anyway. I just wanted it that way. One of them did all the painting and the other one did the rolling and brush work. Once the taping was all done, the other one painted some of the lower areas. They were very good about that. It was done well. One of the men was not really dressed good. He didn't look like what a professional painter would would look like. The other thing is they laid down a tarp after they had actually kinda started. I actually have a couple of drops that came on the grouts of the ceramic tile flooring. Because the main painter did not change out his brush from a large brush, he got paint on my spindles and did not notice it and didn't wipe it off. That was on every spot, on every spindle that was next to a wall. I had to do as much scraping that I could possibly do without hurting the spindles. We had to go and fine the trim color and I had to repaint the spots that I was not able to get the paint off of. We had to re-roll a couple of areas so that it would be all even. I wasn't planning on having them come back that is why I didn't call them. The other gentleman who did the taping work, he was excellent on that. They removed all of the tapes and plastic drop sheet in the area that was over the stairway. He was much more detailed than the other gentleman was. He went back over his work before they left. The other one didn't. He was very precise. They called and came a little bit later than they had anticipated. They came within the 20 minutes that he had told me. They were communicative. I would use them again but I would be a lot more watchful about it.

They were great. They were ontime and finished up in 8 hours. They weren't able to finish everything in the 8 hours because I had too much. I would definitely hire them again.

It did not "go" at all.

I used 21st Century to spray paint 10 interior doors with oil based enamel paint. Since this is a messy job, Gary agreed to do this at his shop location. Other painters wanted to do the work at my house. I was a little unhappy with the door pickup, since Gary sent a painting van which was already full of ladders and painting tools. The doors were then stacked on top of all the tools, and looked really unstable for travel. After delivery of the finished doors, one door especially was really rough and had to be re-done. Overall, I am happy with the job Gary did. I especially liked his responsiveness, communication, and he did show up when promised.

The crew worked very hard to finish the job in a timely manner, and I thought they did a very good job.

Went very well. Painter arrived on time and worked while he was there - no goofing off. Due to time constraints one closet door and no baseboards were painted. After he left, I noticed a big run on the front door. He worked on this door a couple of times but the paint was not working well for some reason. A couple weeks later I sanded and repainted the door. My work is definitely not as good as his but it is ok. However, I would definitely use them again as the remainder of the work was very good and the painter courteous and professional.

They were very responsive when I called and I had a specific date in mind for the work to be done. They immediately accommodated my request and scheduled the service. The young man showed up exactly on time and completed in 6 hours what would have taken me 6 months to do, and that only if I could get myself going on it. He did really really good work with the oil-based paint that I had started the project with. He finished all of the trim - baseboards and around the interior doors. He did both sides of each interior door, the inside of the garage door and the inside of the front door. When he was finished, he asked what else I wanted him to do. I said there was nothing more and to go home and have a beer and enjoy an early day. He said no, that he still owed me two hours, and he had noticed some wear on my exterior trim. He said if I had the touch up paint for it, he would paint it as well. I had the paint so he took care of it with still time to spare. My house mate asked him about a hole she had made in her bathroom wall while trying to hang a shelf. She just wanted to know how to go about fixing it. He totally fixed it for her. He was the absolute best. A hard and conscientious worker. He didn't make any messes. He just quietly did the work. I was very impressed with him and with the company he represented.

Gary Gibreal of 21st Century Painting and Roofing is great to work with. We had 21st Century completely repair and re-side the exterior of our rental property on Ave. H, rebuild the porch, and repaint with two colors. Since we don?t live in Austin, I was a little nervous about how the work would look without our oversight. Furthermore, we asked that the work be done over Winter Break so our UT student tenants wouldn?t be bothered by all the construction work. I was delighted when we went over to inspect the work and saw that the new hardiplank was beautifully applied and that Gary had a great eye for ?design? decisions about the trim. Since I?m known for being very fussy, this was an enormous relief and I was able to completely relax. He was actually more concerned about a tiny color variation in the stucco foundation skirting than I was . . . a totally novel experience for me. The few things we noted that still needed to be finished, were completely and properly done by our next visit. Furthermore, Gary offers to go the extra mile. For example, when I wasn?t quite sure about which of two paint colors to choose, Gary ran over to the paint store, came back with testers of the two paints and applied a large swath of each so we could take a look and make a choice before we had to drive back to Houston that afternoon. The final astonishing thing to note is that we got this excellent, timely, utterly pleasant work done for the lowest of the three bids. I think all of the Angie?s List companies that we investigated would have done a good job, but I simply can?t imagine how we could have done better than to choose 21st Century. When we have more work done in Austin, we will definitely hire them again.

Workmen came and repaired the leak around the skylight and repaired the roof working well into the dark to complete the job. They repaired the leak, and replaced shingles which were part of the problem. The following day a workman came to repair the damage and paint the ceiling in the upstairs bathroom. All the work was excellent.

My biggest complaint was how long it took to actually get the painting scheduled. I emailed the owner several times before I got any response then it took another few weeks to actually get a date nailed down from him. I kept telling giving him the same dates I was available to let them into my rental property but I either would not get a response or he would reply back with completely different dates. For example, I told him I was going to be on vacation during a specific week and twice he tried to book the service for during that week. If you use this company I would suggest you call and leave voice messages rather than try to communicate via email (though that still wasn't a great experience for me). The guys showed up to paint and did a decent job. There is a bad spot in the bathroom I need to touch up and they tried to leave with only half the closets done despite not being there the full 8 hours they were supposed to. They showed up at 9 and left at little before 5 plus they took a 30 minute lunch. They left one closet unpainted because they ran out of time but I'm pretty sure they could have painted a small linen closet in the 45 minutes I was still owed. Don't get me wrong. They were nice and for the most part everything looks great. There is no paint on the carpet which I was worried about. I just don't think that I would use this company again unless it was a really great deal

Excellent service. Arrived on time, worked diligently until the job was finished. Supervisor checked on project twice throughout the day. Couldn't have asked for a better price for this tedious job.
